  1. I was under the impression that the State Guard (not the TN National Guard) was not armed at all. They were supposed to function as emergency responders due to natural disasters or the like. I could be wrong, though.
  2. You can't manufacture new machine guns. You also can't make a short barreled rifle or shotgun, or own a suppressor without approval from the ATF. Even if you aren't manufacturing a new machine gun, you can't own one as a private citizen unless it is registered. While the guy might've had good intentions, he broke the law, and they generally arrest you for that. I hate it for him, but he should've checked into it before he started modifying rifles.
  3. When you store the generator, are you just shutting it down and putting it away, or are you draining the fuel, or doing anything else special? You'll have the same problem with propane if it sits and rarely gets used. I'd recommend fixing the carb, then starting it every week or so. Maybe put some Stabil in the gas tank. The next best option is to run it out of fuel before you put it away, that way the old gas doesn't gunk up and cause problems. The only problem then, is that the lack of fuel can allow moisture to get into places and cause corrosion. What brand and model of engine is it? I can't imagine what could cost 200 bucks to rebuild on any average small engine carb. Also, what kit are you looking at? Since you say it won't allow you to return to gasoline without a new carb, that makes me think that you have to permanently alter your current one, probably by drilling and tapping it to connect the propane hose. That will still require the carb to be functioning correctly in order to work.
  4. While I've never done a conversion, I work on a lot of propane powered equipment. You'll still need the carb with a conversion. Most of the stuff I work on is essentially a gasoline engine, with a fuel regulator that feeds into the original carb. Probably be cheaper to rebuild or replace your carb and stick to gasoline. Rebuilding one is reasonably simple, and the last rebuild kits I've bought were under $20.00.
  5. What model is it? Numrich has a few parts breakdowns on their site. Firearm Parts and Accessories | Numrich Gun Parts Corp. | e-GunParts.com
  6. I thought most places wouldn't let you rent a car until 25. Is it 21? Anyway, at 18 you can get your CDL and drive 80,000 pound trucks down the road. But you can't rent a four door sedan. Makes sense, right?

I agree. They have a very nice range, and I'm sure y'all can find something suitable for her.
  8. Y'all's C&R guns are so much cooler than mine. I have an M44 and an ugly Turkish Mauser. Good stuff.
  9. I've watched the last two outdoor games, it's very different from your average game. Players can't see due to visors getting snow covered, the ice surface being messed up because of the weather, etc... Fun to watch, for sure.

Hey! You just spoiled it for all of us in the Central time zone.
  11. MagTech CowBoy loads are some of the most accurate loads I've shot out of my .38. While not +P, I would think that their quality control would be similar over it as well.
  12. It was cool, but he made it look easy. Now, the annual NHL outdoor game is tomorrow. That should be awesome.
  13. Agreed, looked too easy. Would've been more impressive without the fence on the end of the landing barge.

Back when I was in school, one of our instructors intentionally set off a car air bag outside as a demonstration. That thing probably went 40 feet up. If my 'friends' did that to me, they better hope I came down in a different state!

I'm not sure that I want to ask why you found this...:-\
  16. Watch craigslist, the wooden cabinets with glass doors seem to come up fairly often. I'd also keep an eye on yard sales.

I took a basic locksmithing course out of high school and did a little work with a locksmith at the time. If you really want to learn it, look into one of those mail order kits/ lesson sets. Locks are actually pretty interesting devices, and while I didn't make a career out of them, I do think they're a lot of fun to tinker with.

  19. I just watched this last night. The local radio station has been running segments of the Boortz (maybe I spelled that right) show, and he mentioned it. Awesome story, and the song has actually been stuck in my head since I saw the video.
  20. I can't remember the last time I read anything this funny. Y'all are awesome. Absolutely awesome.
  21. It depends on who's there when you go in. I've had really good experiences, and not so good experiences.
  22. I'll throw my two cents in, even though I'm late. If you want to go out in the Hendersonville area, I highly recommend Cheddar's. It's not quite fine dining, I'd say it's a step up from Chili's or Logan's. However, it's significantly cheaper and the food is just better. Not really sure how to describe it. The portions are far larger than most of their competitors, also. The first time I ate there the service was just okay, not bad but nothing to write home about. The second time the service was incredibly good. I really can't recommend them highly enough. Again, it's not fine dining, but it's definitely worth a visit. As for September's, that's why I'm so late writing this. Ate there tonight. Not a bad atmosphere, food was good, portion sizes about right. Service was good. I wouldn't consider them fine dining either, but it's a much quieter atmosphere than Cheddars, Chili's, etc...no TVs or the like. However, in my opinion the atmosphere doesn't quite live up to the cost. Between the two, even though September's is a bit more 'high end' than Cheddars, I'd rather go to Cheddars. The food is comparable in quality, if not better on a few things, and the combination of portion sizes and cost put them on top. Roughly estimating, September's is about 40-50% more than Cheddars, and simply not worth the difference unless it has to be 'fine dining' and it has to be Hendersonville.
  23. I'd go for it. Primers have become a lot easier to find than this time last year, I've found what I wanted for a reasonable price fairly easily.
  24. That was a joke, see below for a reference on Kwik. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/general-off-topic/32087-tennessee-gun-ownerss-favorite-village-idiot-again.html
