  1. It was Nashville he asked about, not Memphis. However, the answer is still 'no.' Don't forget, he wasn't the only one that made me wonder. "So, have you got anywhere to stay tonight?"
  2. Lots of fun. We'll have to do it again sometime. I was over your way yesterday, but didn't have time to stop in. Thanks to the Recovery project, a four lane interstate was operating on one lane. It's alright though, I'd much rather spend my time idling along in a Kenworth than going to a hockey game. Really.
  3. Gee, I just showed up one day and got invited...I feel special. There were a couple of moments while I was there that made me wonder about some folks...
  4. How could you be bored in your store? You get to meet all sorts of interesting people, from what I noticed...maybe you should take down the 'No Solicitors' sign if you're bored. Because signs work. They get the job done.
  5. What about those of us who weren't there for the meal and ensuing WalMart story? Wait on the book to come out?
  6. Ax men Pawn Stars American Pickers Wrecked Usually, if it's on one of the History channels I'll watch it. Ax Men and Ice Road Truckers are both way too dramatic. I watch now just to see how they try to make it sound more exciting for TV. "Ooh, he drove the truck on the ice at 5 MPH! Wow!" or "That tree just fell down because he cut it with the chainsaw, people can die if things fall on them." Give me a break. Needs more technical stuff, less drama. Wrecked is getting almost as bad. The only reason American Pickers and Pawn Stars are worth watching is because I like seeing the weird, old stuff that turns up. Don't care much for the personalities. Mega Movers, Build It Bigger, Ultimate Factories, How It's Made, heck...I'll even watch the DIY Network if I see Haulin' House is on.
  7. A friend of mine had a '96 Tacoma, I think it was. He mentioned the accelerator sticking once or twice. I do think that Toyota has become a target. I heard today about the UAW protesting outside the Japanese embassy, and that the government will be looking into the accelerator issue further. Funny, I don't recall the government digging in when Ford was dealing with rollover issues on the Explorer. Where was the government for the what, 12 years it took for Ford to issue a recall on the 7.3 PowerStroke cam sensor? I know several guys who actually kept a spare CPS and a 10mm wrench in the glovebox of their truck, but Ford denied any issues. I believe they recalled the trucks around '06, about three years after they stopped offering the 7.3! Or the brake switch recall, also on the 7.3 trucks? I believe they had a cruise control problem on some models of SUV that caused them to catch on fire. I don't recall the UAW protesting when that stuff happened, either... *Sidenote* I'm not just picking on Ford for their recalls, but I've been working around the 7.3 diesel since '96, not really familiar enough with other manufacturers to point out their issues.
  8. Is the crack where the wheel weight was when you found the original leak? Is it a steel wheel or aluminum? I agree with what was said earlier, probably a very tiny crack that opened up once they put it on the machine.
  9. Great news! Congrats on the new job.
  10. All the cool kids are doing it...heck, they're even letting me tag along!
  11. At 8" square and 2" tall, what's to keep someone from just walking off with the entire case and opening it later? I'd think any case you could put a lock on would do fine, my main concern would be the entire container being stolen, instead of someone smashing into it while it was in my vehicle.
  12. Planning to mail off the form and a check tomorrow. I'm planning to use the revolver, but I may bring the other along, also.
  13. That's what I'm leaning toward. I have to get the printer going, but I'm going to try and be there.
  14. Ah, you made me get curious enough to go look at it. It has Savage 24J-DL on the right side of the receiver. The barrel selector is on the hammer, and the break- open lever is on the top of the receiver. Stupid question, where is the serial number supposed to be on this thing?
  15. I'm interested in this. Would I be better off to bring a semi auto in an IWB rig, or a J frame in a pocket holster? I carry the J frame more often, but how easy is it to translate the stuff I learn between modes of carry? Even though I carry the J frame more, it seems like I would be better off to go through the course with the semi auto.
  16. It's a Savage 24, by designator I was referring to the last letter behind the number. 24S, 24F, etc...
  17. Got chainsaw? Really nice tree, hate that it came down. At least y'all weren't under it when it did!
  18. I'm a fan of the wood stock. My only complaint with the Romanian I had was length of pull, was a little short for me.
  19. I'm not sure what the designator is, but mine is a .22 Mag over .410
  20. Just how far north of Nashville are you? Snowmobiles in Tennessee...wow.

    Tell me about it

They are not known to be quality firearms. A quick Google search says: "Stan, Rohm GmbH of Sontheim/Brenz produced cheap revolvers, starting pistols, gas pistols and alarm pistols for the U.S. marketplace during the late 1960s. RG revolvers were sold in the USA prior to the passage of the 1968 Gun Control Act and were imported by a Miami based company whose name I can't recall (hence the Miami, FL stamping). Rohm revolvers are usually identifiable by a round medallion in the grip carrying 'RG' and the model number. The RG-23 is a 22LR revolver with a six shot swing out cylinder and a 1.5 inch barrel. RG values fall in the $25.00 range." General consensus seems to be junk. If you're considering buying one to shoot, probably should reconsider.
  22. The P30 has interchangeable side and back panels for the grip, the P2000 does not. I believe the P30 has a slightly longer barrel. I was shopping for a P2000 when I stumbled across the P30. Once the P30 was in my hand, it just fit so well that the P2000 dropped off the radar. Your mileage may vary, try both.
  23. I'd guess they're down in Franklin somewhere... If you haven't seen it already, check out the P30 Test: pistol-training.com Blog Archive 2009 50,000 Round Endurance Test: HK P30 LEM
