I miss C R Specialties in Kansas City, MO
56FordGuy replied to E4 No More's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've had hit or miss experiences with the guys at the Reloader's Bench. Combined with the $40.00/ 1000 primers they carried for a while (maybe they still do), I do my best to shop elsewhere. Try Champion's Choice in LaVergne. They're a mail- order place, but they have a local sales counter in their building. Several months ago they were selling small pistol primers for $30.00/ 1000. They don't have a showroom, you may well have to find what you want to buy in their catalog on the counter. However, when I've been there the staff has been very helpful and the prices were good. There's a gentleman from Ashland City that sells reloading stuff at the gunshows. I saw him at the Murfreesboro show a month or two ago. Seems like a nice enough guy, I didn't check prices that much as I didn't need anything. -
The flat tractor tire that I had fixed earlier this week was flat, so I dealt with that. Then I took the truck into town and picked up about 3,000 pounds of dirt for the garden. Got home, too wet to get the truck to the garden. Shoveled dirt into a wheelbarrow, made several trips to garden. Planted onions, asparagus, and turnips. Hope to get broccoli out next week.

What did you use to layout the pattern on the multicam rifle? Looks good.

Not unless it is chambered for .45 GAP. .45 ACP and .45 GAP are not the same thing.

I did a bunch of pressure washer research a while back when I contemplated building one. The big deal on most box store pressure washers is the pump. The engines will usually outlast the pump. At one time, I had two engines that I saved off of pressure washers with bad pumps. The thing to look for is a Cat brand pump. The ones I looked at actually listed a Cat pump as a feature on the tag. I bought a Husky model from the Home Depot. It does not have a Cat pump, but I can tell you why. The only model I could find with one was about $500.00. I can buy a Cat pump by itself for about $150.00. I bought my pressure washer on clearance, and it had been returned and repaired for something prior to my purchase. I got it inexpensively enough that I can put a Cat pump on it when the factory one dies and still not have spent the money as buying a Cat equipped machine from the factory. I'll have to look tomorrow and see what model mine is, it came from Home Depot and is about a 2500 PSI unit. It had four nozzles, and has generally done a good job on the truck and tractors, along with deck.

I've tried. My last FedEx package was scheduled to arrive early on a Friday morning. I got home that afternoon, no box, no note, nothing. I checked the tracking number, it said it was on the truck to my house. I called customer service, the lady said that I should get it that day. I called back at 9:00 PM, and the customer service lady informed me that the driver attempted to deliver the box at 7:00 PM and no one was home. Considering that my original call to their service line (when I got home and my package hadn't arrived) was sometime around 5:30, I can verify nobody tried to come to my house. I asked if I could drive to their facility on Saturday and pick it up myself, and was told no. Frankly, it isn't worth the trouble for me to deal with them. That was the last experience, but not the only one of that type. It's just less stressful to ship UPS or USPS.

Close. My gravel road is actually a turn off of the original gravel road that connects to the pavement. Though, in my defense, there are address signs on the gravel road. I just want to be clear, I'm not fussing at the UPS guy. He doesn't have to come down my driveway, I appreciate the extra time he takes to do it. That's why I don't fuss about the occasional box for my neighbors, or package for folks that don't live here anymore. Heck, I don't even call UPS about that stuff. It's easier to just take the stuff to the neighbors, or call the people that used to live here.
-
FedEx or UPS? UPS, but neither one of them has really impressed me. FedEx won't deliver to my house. Granted, my house is about 1/4 mile off the paved road. FedEx won't even leave a note on the mailbox, which is on the paved road. UPS, on the other hand, brings everything to my house. Packages for me, packages for my neighbors, packages for the people who lived in my house two years ago, it all comes to me. I'm not even the first house once you turn off the paved road! I don't mind, though. At least my stuff gets here.

Powder thrower is yours!
-
I've got a Dillon Powder Thrower to PIF. This powder measure will only fit the Dillon Square Deal B press! It will not fit standard dies, it is designed specifically for the special dies used in the Square Deal B press.
-
Good to know. Back to the PIF thread it goes!
-
I sent you a PM, picked it up at the Post Office this morning. Thanks again. I wondered if it might be Square Deal B, I just haven't been able to find a picture of one to compare.
-
Hey all. I recently picked up a Dillon powder measure off of the PIF thread. After looking at it, it does not seem to match any of the powder dies I've seen. My powder die is set up to fit the measure with the 'clamp' piece and the allen screw on either side to tighten down on it. As you can see, this measure does not have that piece. Are there different types of powder dies for the Dillon measures?

AK Operator Schedule Looks like August 1, 2010 is the next one. Don't know why the link says AK Operator, it takes you to the Advanced Concealed Carry schedule page.

I was having enough problems with the "Someone twice my size lunging at me" tactic you employed, I definitely couldn't have handled any tactical ninja stuff.

Nosir, I did not. My apologies. You tagged me once, I had to check and make sure my lip wasn't bleeding. I figured it just added to the real-ism of the training. Great class, thanks to both Todd and Dustin along with my fellow classmates. Everyone was polite, helpful, and generally just a good group.

Long story short, good class. When I arrived Sunday morning, it was cold, and wet, and the gate to the range was locked. Todd took care of the gate problem, unfortunately there wasn't much he could do about the weather. It stayed cold, and moderately wet all day. We spent a while on the bleachers before moving to the range. Todd covered a lot of topics, far too much information for me to recount here. I picked up a lot of good information, and he did a great job of breaking it up to keep it from becoming overwhelming. Before moving to the range and shooting portion of the class, we did some 'force on force' exercises with airsoft guns. It was good to actually put some of the things Todd had talked about into practice with a live person. It's easy to listen, think, and strategize about what you would do when someone was charging at you, it was another game altogether to actually try it. We got to the range and started by being seeing how long it took each of us to draw from concealment and place three shots on the target. I was very surprised at my time, especially in the 'sunshine and bunnies' world of the range. We spent a lot of time going over drawing. Until this class, I really hadn't realized how important the draw is to being able to defend yourself. Having a gun on you is one thing, actually getting that gun into a useful position when you have to is a whole new ballgame. Todd and Dustin seemed very patient with everyone, they took the time to correct the mistakes and help where we were having trouble, but still kept things moving along at a good pace. Despite the weather, I greatly enjoyed it. If you're considering taking this class, you probably should. If you're not considering taking the class, well...you really should be. It's not just another 'check mark' class. A lot of classes, tests, certifications, etc, in and out of the firearms world, are only good for being able to check a little box that says you passed and you can add that to your resume, with nothing to really be gleaned from it. I brought home a lot of good information, now it's my responsibility to practice it and keep it fresh in mind. I was very happy with the class. Todd and Dustin ran a professional, safe class. It was informative, fun, and well worth the money and time I invested.

I'll come by to check on you...besides, how else would I get first dibs on the AR?
-
+1 to this. I tried it (at OhShoot's recommendation) a while back, and it made a big difference for me. Much more comfortable that way.
-
Ah, missed that part...CHMR is outdoor, but I don't think he allows full auto.
-
I thought On Target allowed MGs?
-
AC= Air Conditioning, I'll bet.

Go to a local gun store and look at them. I would expect most stores to have the XD, MP, and P99. Guns and Leather in Greenbriar rents handguns on their range, you might be able to shoot a few of them there.
