  1. I've got a couple of Shop Vacs, if that'll help... Not much damage here. Gravel road is pretty bad, most of the gravel is in the field.
  2. Is there any way you could drip some air tool oil into it? Pneumatic seals can 'dry out' for lack of a better term and start leaking/ not seal. Sometimes some air tool oil can get them going again.
  3. Needless to say, I don't think I'm going anywhere for a while. For the record, pictures taken with a zoom on the camera. Didn't brave the waters myself.
  4. I got my Tech license a few years ago. Had a Yaesu FT-8800R in the truck. The test is fairly easy, especially if you have an electronics background. I'm not up on current laws, but at the time I got my license the Technician level couldn't operate on 10 meters. I was hearing about the FCC making changes to things about the time I got out of it. Good luck!
  5. I talked to some family that live just west of Lexington, they said pretty much everything had flooded and shut down. My brother in law's National Guard unit had drill in Jackson, they're stranded there now. They said they expect to be on the national news tonight or tomorrow.
  6. I looked at one alongside several others, and it felt about as heavy as most of the 3x9 models I looked at, and about twice as heavy as the 1-4x scopes they had in stock. It may not be a big deal for you. Otherwise, seemed like a nice scope.
  7. I looked at one in a local shop, they're pretty heavy compared to other 1-4x scopes. Might want to see one in person before buying.

    Pistol Search

My : It's a carry gun. It's going to get worn, scratched, and suffer other finish damage. If I had it to do over, I would've bought a worn, less expensive used one to carry. Functionally solid, but not terribly pretty. I bought a new 642, and the finish has been beat up pretty noticeably by carrying it. That said, a heavier model would help with the felt recoil.

I'm sure you could ask around and find people who own those guns that would let her try them before y'all buy one. For the 642, the Crimson Trace grips probably add 150-200 bucks to that price. New ones can be found for 450 or so without the laser. The Smith and Wesson 442 is the same gun, just blued. You might find it for a few dollars less. The AirWeight revolvers snap pretty hard with the factory grips. The three finger Hogue grips help.

    Buick woes

This is how the heater on my truck is. Works well, turns off the heater. Doesn't help with the AC much, but...
  11. I think I get it now. The temperature inside the safe only reached 275 degrees in the Browning, where it reached 350 degrees in another brand, while the exterior temperature was the same for an hour? That makes sense, I just didn't see it before.
  12. Lots of carpenters are at work from noon to four oclock during the day.
  13. Tag for updates. Can't get the photos to load here, either, but still trying.
  14. I was thinking along those lines, just couldn't get the thing apart to check for myself before I posted. Worse case scenario, I can build up any worn areas with a welder and then reshape them as needed. Cool, I may check with him. Local gunsmith in Gallatin. I believe he builds the Uselton 1911s.
  15. I'm confused. Browning tests to a lower internal temperature, thus they come out ahead? Do other companies only test to an external temperature?
  16. Chicago scored, Predators took a penalty. Here's hoping they turn it around.
  17. There's a plate that covers the bottom of the action from the stock to the front of the receiver. The lever is attached to that plate by a pivot, but that plate is attached to the receiver by two screws. I removed those screws, and it feels like something in the receiver is holding the plate on. There are no pins that I can see going through the receiver.
  18. Have her try a different .380, or maybe a 9mm. The lightweight gun will have more felt recoil than a heavier gun, even in a larger caliber.
  19. Game Two is on! They just waved off a Blackhawks goal, waiting on a review.
  20. It's all good fun. I just rarely get the opportunity to use the lmgtfy link.
  21. Let me google that for you Tommy Lasorda Baseball Stats by Baseball Almanac
  22. I picked up a Western Auto Revelation 205 30-30 a week or so ago. I've done some research, and found that my rifle was made for Western Auto by Mossberg, and is the equivalent of a Mossberg 472 PCA. The problem is with the feed lifter. When cycling the action, the lifter that the shell sits on is not lifting enough the get the round into the chamber. The bolt pushes forward on the cartridge before the bullet is high enough, and the bullet strikes the bottom edge of the chamber and does not go in. With no ammunition, the lifting block appears to be lifting enough, but with the weight of a cartridge on it, it is not. I did a search, and it seems that this is a common problem. However, I can't find any resolutions to it. I attempted to disassemble and inspect it for myself, and can't figure out how to remove the lever/ lower portion of the action from the receiver. Any ideas?
  23. I just checked. My 121 Fieldmaster is a May, 1951 model and it does have a serial number. Kind of cool that both my rifles wound up being May manufacture dates, 10 years apart.
  24. Cool, glad you got it figured out.
