  1. I didn't check the mail yesterday, but made the five mile one way drive today. Sure enough, mine was dropped off yesterday. Thanks David!
  2. https://www.rticcoolers.com/shop/drinkware/tumblers/RTIC-30-Handle Looks like the top band for the handle will cover part of the logo. Not the end of the world though.
  3. I'm going to agree with chances r, a small 38 especially a light one like a 642 is going to be a handful to shoot, no pun intended. If she's going to practice with it and stay proficient, she may struggle with the recoil. Mine is steel with wrap around Hogue grips, it's manageable with regular .38 loads but +P stuff gets tiring after 20-30 rounds. The Airweight I had was pretty brutal even with light loads in it. There's just not enough mass in the gun to absorb the recoil. I'd suggest renting/ borrowing something at the range for her to use before you buy anything.
  4. I get the feeling mine will be one of the last ones to be delivered. It's only 1,500 miles away from most everyone else that ordered one. [emoji38]
  5. I live on a private road. You'd have to protest about 5 miles from here to be on public property. [emoji1] In all seriousness, if you want to protest in the middle of the street go for it.
  6. Those events went to their overlords and begged permission to exercise their right to assemble. It's only a problem when people want to exercise their rights freely, without government approval and permits. Land of the free, and I've got the licenses, permits, tax stamps and receipts to prove it. [emoji16]
  7. But that's my question, what would they be charged with? Is impeding or blocking traffic illegal? If so, wouldn't anyone doing it have to be charged regardless of the reason thy were doing it? If I wasn't on my phone I would try to dig into the TCA and find this stuff. Maybe tonight if nobody beats me to it.
  8. I'm not familiar with TN law on this. What law did they break by blocking an intersection? What if a delivery truck had broken down, or someone had a medical emergency and crashed into a light pole knocking it across the road? Should those people be hauled away to jail also? I don't get your point. It's okay for republicans to turn fire hoses on protesters? Way to support freedom of speech and assembly, GOP.
  9. I'm so terribly sorry the doctor was inconvenienced. If his surgery is so critical, why didn't he leave earlier? What if he had a flat tire, or other car trouble? What about roads being closed due to an accident? i didn't realize he, unlike the rest of the world is entitled to delay free travel. As for the ones beating on cars or otherwise causing property damage, they should be arrested.
  10. A couple of weeks ago someone playing out here found a body floating in the Wind River near Riverton.
  11. What other evidence is available? If the officers had been wearing body cameras and the footage released we might be able to draw a different conclusion. Going off the evidence we have though, it looks like an otherwise innocent man was shot while reaching for his ID per the officer's directions.
  12. The military is out to destroy an enemy. The police are not. The more officers want to dress up and act like the people they interact with are enemy combatants, it should come as no surprise when those people begin acting like enemy combatants. The requirements for justified deadly force should be the exact same for officers as it should any armed person. They are citizens and civilians, not an elite strike force taking out terrorists in Fallujah. What i find concerning is that so many officers and former officers seem to be incapable of considering that perhaps over the last several decades, police culture has played a role in building up to the situation we have today. I certainly don't mean to say any of the officers that have been shot deserved it, but to say that police culture has played absolutely no role in this and that 100% of the blame lies on the public is beyond ridiculous. Forget getting someone to say the officers have ever done anything wrong, we can't even get some folks to concede that maybe there are things they could do better. It's almost like talking to someone that's joined a cult Officers are are taught to take control of a situation. All too often, they attempt to do that by escalating the amount of force used. If armored trucks and more guns are their go to answer here, I think we're going to see a lot of things get worse. The citizens that officers are supposed to protect aren't the enemy. The more we get treated like we are, the more a segment of society is going to act like one. And I do think it's rather telling when folks who have been steeped in police culture decry using any new technology that could hold officers accountable like body cameras, but are eager for new guns, new body armor and military vehicles.
  13. I want to be. Never done it and didn't put in a garden this year, but I want to go to the farmer's market and get some fresh vegetables to can. We have a pressure cooker and some sort of canning kit, I need to figure out what all of it is.
  14. That's the biggest risk, some ignorant tourist that can't wait five minutes for us to get across and decides to start blowing the horn and trying to drive through the herd. Cows scatter pretty easily, so stunts like that can cause us a lot more work. The cows have as much right to be on the road as vehicles do here. Six cars pulled over today to watch a herd walk under a bridge to get to another pasture. I'll be glad when all these folks go back home.
  15. Meh. Just another day in Wyoming. [emoji38] We usually block the road with the pickups when we move the herd across it. Dead cows are a pretty big problem if you're the rancher.
  16. I don't have the slightest clue what you're talking about. I've heard of Jade Helm, I assume the rest of it is similar conspiracy bunk.

    Ok Sig

United did, because they break guitars. [emoji38]
  18. I always wondered how much business the pawn shop really did anyway. I can't recall ever seeing anything in there for a reasonable price. Took my permit class there, it was alright. Nothing really noteworthy either way.
  19. Nah, just queer as a three dollar bill. [emoji38]
  20. I can't speak for all gay people any more than I can speak for all gun owners, but I got my permit two weeks after my 21st birthday and have carried since. I could probably count the number of times I was unarmed on one hand. My husband doesn't carry and has no interest in it, or guns in general. He can shoot and is familiar with all the firearms in our house, but that's about it. I said right after the Orlando shooting that this might be an opportunity for republicans to make some headway with the gay community. That doesn't look as likely anymore, but I think there's still an opening for gun owners to introduce some new people to firearms. A lot of gay people do keep an eye out for anti-gay hatred in most of society, but "gay" places have been a chance to let your guard down. Orlando drove the point home that there are no safe spaces...for anyone, gay or straight. Evil exists, and you are responsible for you own safety. I've spoken with a few people in the last couple of weeks that are interested in shooting, carrying, and looking out for themselves. I hate that it took a tragedy to get their attention, but nothing we can do about that. I know a lot of gays that have carried for a long time, but that's partially because birds of a feather flock together. No surprise that most of my friends are pro gun, gay or straight so I can't say "most gays carry" because my sample size is relatively small. This has definitely gotten more people interested though, and that's a good thing. Armed gays don't get bashed. [emoji106]

    Flakka

I had never heard of it until your post.

    Flakka

http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/18/health/flakka-drug-disappearance/ Looks like the popularity/ availability has died down quite a bit.
  24. My last two (2014 and 2016) Chevy 3500s do the same thing. Seems like an effort to reduce weight in the name of fuel mileage.
  25. I've owned 3 7.3 Powerstroke trucks. My current one is an '01 I've had for 6 years with 230K. I've never had this many problems out of any truck, I just got back from TN in it and wasn't sure it was going to make it. Not condemning the 7.3 as an engine, but this particular truck has been pretty bad. My next will be a Dodge or maybe a Chevy. Work gave me a 2016 Chevy 3500 work truck, it's a little different but not a bad truck at all. There's a local dealer with Dodge 4500/5500 trucks for under $56k too, which seems like a darn good deal.
