Bought a truck today, and one of the door speakers is blown and makes a loud popping noise. What's the best 'bargain' speaker? I don't need a high quality stereo, I just want something that'll work and not break the bank. I'd like to stay under $75.00 apiece. Are there any quality speakers in that price range, or will I need to consider bumping up the budget? Thanks!

Pshh. Dodge is just now doing this? This is a page out of a Ford brochure from 1974 or so. Ford: Don't need the bailout money, and had a gun specific accessory 40 years ago. Not that I might be biased or anything...

Can I become a benefactor without using PayPal?

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/payments.php " Those who do not wish to use PayPal to make an online payment may send a cashier's check or money order made payable to David Yancy to the following mailing address. David Yancy Post Office Box 2664 Smyrna, TN 37167 Be sure to include your forum screen name as the memo on the check, or written on a note inserted with your payment. This is important to ensure that we credit the appropriate forum account for the payment! If you are sending payment by USPS, please do not send cash or a personal check. Also be sure to let the forum administrator (TGO David) know by Private Message that you are sending payment. At best we normally check our PO Box once a week; sometimes less. If we know a payment is due to arrive, we will do our best to check it a little more often than that." -
These are micrometers, if I recall correctly. I'd venture a guess that you have over $500.00 worth of stuff here. The box alone, empty, would probably fetch 200 or so.

I'd just put the original grips back on it if they're in okay shape. I don't know of any way to 'clean up' the wear marks on the aluminum without extensive polishing, and even that probably isn't going to make it look new.

Legally, an individual can ship a handgun to a dealer. It does not have to be sent FFL to FFL. However, it does have to go Overnight, and some FFLs will not accept transfers from an individual.

My .02: put up the stickers. The only thing your alarm is going to do in the event of a break in is call the cops to make the report. Think about it. It takes what, 30-40 seconds for the alarm to stop waiting on the code to be entered, then the alarm company calls you to make sure you didn't trip it accidentally, then they contact authorities. By that time, it's probably been 3-5 minutes since the original break in. Add in the police response time (depending on where you live), and you could be anywhere from 5 minutes up to 15 or 20. Most 'smash and grab' thieves will be long gone by then. Then again, putting up the stickers/ signs just tells the robber "Hey, cut the phone line" before they smash the window. I'm a big fan of wireless systems for that reason.

Disassemble it as far as you feel comfortable, and clean like you would any other gun. Solvent, and pipe cleaners or cotton swabs to get into the smaller areas. Maybe an old toothbrush? If it's just dirt down in there, you might 'boil' it out with hydrogen peroxide. I've never done it, but I think it would work.

That looks pretty good! I don't know what I would've expected that combination to look like, but that's nice.

Glad to hear everyone's alright. Just for the record, the doctor still might drive a hybrid.

Nah, haven't really tried. Maybe this season.

Makes me want to start hunting...

I tend to agree. AR threads aren't really overwhelming threads about other guns, so I really don't see the need.

Great carry gun, but you should have her shoot one before buying. The recoil, especially with +P defense ammo, can be pretty stout.

The problem is that too many people think the Republicans are the answer. They're not, and neither are the Democrats, or the Libertarians, or the Federalists, or the Wigs, or any other party. We can't just vote for any candidate with an R by their name and expect good results. We have to look at the individual candidates and what they stand for, not the commercials on TV or who has the most signs. Unfortunately, most voters are too uneducated or too lazy to do that.

I have to ask, what do you not like about Susan Lynn? I don't mean to be antagonistic, I'm genuinely curious. I don't live in her district, so aside from the interviews she did on 99.7 when the legislature was in session, I don't know anything about her. I recall hearing that she only ran for the seat when she found out that Mae Beavers was not going to run for re-election, then Rep. Beavers changed her mind and decided to run.

Depends on how realistic it is. For example, I've never seen what happens when someone attempts to cut into a gun safe with a reciprocating saw. I have my theories on how that will turn out, but no proof. Fortunately, I just happen to have a quality gun safe that I'm planning to try that very thing on, then post here for all of us to enjoy. That could really happen in the real world, if you have a safe in your garage (with your tools), or the a thief just feels like he has time, or he steals the entire safe and tries to open it later somewhere else. I like seeing 'torture tests' of products I'm considering purchasing. I don't get much out of tests like "We dunked this gun into water, and it still worked", but I do see some value in testing that runs a product until a part of it fails, just because it points out the weakness of the item.

I agree with everybody else. If it's a collector type item, having the box will usually make a difference in value. If it's a modern, currently produced handgun, having the original box (or plastic case) may help it sell faster, should you ever need to. The biggest thing a newer gun with the box and papers says to me is that the seller cared enough about the weapon to keep all that stuff, so he probably took good care of the gun. If the box is missing, no big deal. I can look at the gun and decide if it's in good enough shape for me to buy it as a shooter. Besides, what do most of us do with the cases anyway? They wind up taking up space and collecting dust, not a big deal. The extra mag, well, that has some use and I'd like to have it.

There's only 78% of the vote in, there's still a chance! ...Hey, look! A cow just landed in my yard, guess he got confused by the runway lights...

I can't really recommend Vietti chili, or beans, or anything else they make. While the products are made in Nashville, I've not had good experiences with them.

Alright, here's another one. This is a SureFire 6P. If you've been following along, you can see by the Laser Products markings on the tailcap that it's an older model. Another identifying mark on the 6P lights is the round bezel. Aside from the markings on the tailcap, current models have an anti- roll bezel. Older lights have a completely round body, such as this one. The interesting thing about this light is not the tailcap marking, or the round body. It's the finish. This is a Type III, Hard Anodized SureFire 6P. The 6P was considered an 'entry level' SureFire, and as a result they were never offered for sale with a hard anodized finish. They were only offered with a Type II anodized finish, which is not as rugged, durable, or costly. I don't know the story on this one, unfortunately. I think there are two others that are out there, and both of them reside with the gentleman I purchased this one from. They could be prototypes escaped from SureFire (it really has happened), or they may have been a special order by one particular dealer. I really don't know, but in any case it's a very cool light.

I love it. Friend, so long as you aren't a Red Wings fan, you'll be fine. If you are a Wingnut, just keep driving through TN; perhaps you'll be more at home in Georgia, or Mississippi, or some other state.

Congratulations! Quality work, and I'm not surprised that it would win anywhere, especially Macon county..

I worked on semi trucks for several years, mostly in-house for a large fleet. We kept records of each unit and the maintenance/ repairs required for it. We had pretty complete control of the parts used on our equipment, and ran retreads as much as possible. It's been a few years since I worked there, but I recall our retreads had a poor record. Out of 8 retread tires on a unit (one trailer or the drives on one tractor), one would need to replaced due to a failure of some type about once every 9 to 10,000 miles. I can't say if the pressures were always right or they were never overloaded, because once it left the shop it was in the driver's hands. I believe that's a Federal thing.

Do you have a GPS tracking unit on your car? A lot of them run 100% of the time, whether the vehicle is running or not. As a result, they can kill the battery. Granted two days seems a little short for it to happen, but y'alls system may draw more than the ones my company uses do.
