  1. Something seems odd about that. If they'd received stolen firearms from Buds in the past, why didn't they tell you that the first time that you called, instead of telling you they would fax a copy of their FFL? Did you talk to the same person both times?
  2. About 3 inches of snow here, have to see what they're calling for tomorrow. May take the truck to work.
  3. I'd look at the locking hubs or wheel bearings. Serious about selling? PM me.
  4. A small drop of blue LocTite should hold the screw in place, and still be removable should you ever need to.
  5. That's a great shotgun, I love the Model 37s. They're still a very desirable gun, too. Any idea when it was made?

    SNOW!!!

I don't think it'll happen. Even if it does, I intend to get to work. You can't trust the weather man...
  7. If you have a HCP, you may carry a long gun (shotgun or rifle) in your vehicle with ammunition in the magazine, but not the chamber. If you do not have your HCP, you are not allowed to have a long gun with ammunition in the magazine unless at the range, while hunting, or on your property.
  8. I figured out how to uninstall CCleaner and I did. I may download it again at a later date if necessary. CD still doesn't work. I tried three different audio discs, none functioned. When I open Computer, it shows the hard drive (C: ), and two 'Devices with Removable Storage', (D: ), which is called Memory Stick and (E: ), which is called SD/ MMC. With a disk inserted, clicking either of the two removable storage devices causes a button to come up that says "Please insert a disc/ removable storage device into drive." I did find that there is an update package out that I will try to download tonight.
  9. I know we have some computer folks here, but I'm not one of them. I need some help with my laptop. It's a Sony Vaio, running Windows Vista. It will no longer auto- start audio CDs, and I can't figure out how to make it start them using Winamp. I put the disc in, I can hear it spin for a few seconds, then it stops. It used to work, it would auto start and pull up Winamp when I put the disc in. At the advice of a friend, I downloaded and ran CCleaner tonight, and now it doesn't work. I would uninstall CCleaner and try that, but I don't see it listed when I open the start menu and go to all programs. Any ideas?
  10. You missed a fine hockey game, then. Ended at 3-1 Capitals over Penguins, no overtime. Good game, though. I enjoy the outdoor games, it seems to get back to the basics of the game, the real spirit of it.
  11. I ran the numbers again, using brass and bullet prices from Midway. They list brass at $231.00/ 1000 and bullets at 92.00/ 1000. If you only use the brass once and don't pick it up, I'm coming up with .40 cents per round. If you buy new brass and reload it ten times, you're down to .31 cents per round.
  12. The NHL Winter Classic? I love the outdoor game, this year is the first I recall it being played so late. Weatherman scared them off the original start time due to rain. It's Pittsburgh VS Washington, so I really don't have a strong favorite. I'd like to see it go to overtime though, just because I enjoy the game. I guess that means I cheer for the Pens, at least for the next 9 minutes or so.
  13. I just ran the numbers, I'm loading .223 for about .08 a round. I bought my powder at $100.00/ 8 lbs, and my primers for about $40.00/ 1000 (during the rush). I figured no cost for the brass, since I can reuse it several times and no cost for the bullets, because a buddy of mine set me up with a bunch. Obviously, your cost will be higher buying bullets and possibly brass, but it shouldn't be much.
  14. There's usually no good way to trade with a gun store on a modern firearm. They can buy whatever you're trading in for wholesale cost brand new, so they have to pay you less than wholesale for your used gun. Even if you've only shot it once, it's still used/ pre-owned, etc. Gun stores have to make money, or else they'll close the doors. Your best financial move is to sell your gun yourself, then go buy what you want. Trading in, be it on a gun, a car, or anything else, is usually a losing proposition.
  15. I've heard of guys reloading steel cases, but generally it's not a good idea. At the very least, it's hard on your dies. Most steel case ammo has Berdan type primers, which will not work with standard depriming dies.
  16. Come back? Where had it been? I know where it may go...
  17. Does anyone know where I can find some information on these old shotguns? I've seen some listed as 'deluxe' models and I have no idea what that means. I'd also like to know if there's a serial number reference to determine the date the gun was made. Thanks!
  18. I really don't know anything about wine, either. The Winelights are a 'limited' edition, E1 and E2-W lights. They're standard E1 and E2E lights, sold with the low output bulbs and anodized in a special color. The knurling feels a bit less aggressive, too. The story I heard on them is as follows: A Surefire executive, or friend of an executive, was a wine connoisseur. Part of enjoying a good wine, from what I understand, is the color and in some establishments the lighting is rather low, making it hard to fully appreciate the wine. As a result, the individual began carrying an Executive series flashlight with which to examine the color if the drink. He grew weary of carrying the OD green, hard anodized E series in finer eating establishments, so he convinced the folks at at Surefire to make a 'special' run of WineLights. The story could be a complete fabrication, but that's what I've always heard. I don't think they sold especially well, because a while back a vendor sold a set of the two lights for an incredible value. Now, they're not quite 'common', but I don't believe that they're especially rare.
  19. Well, it's been about two months now since the last post on this thread. A while back, I posted a photo of a pair of Surefire Winelights, the actual models released for sale. Well, tonight I'll add a photo of the display models. These are affixed to their display stand by a small cable that runs through the loop on the pocket clip, back to a spring loaded reel behind the display. The two display lights are slightly different in markings, you'll notice that the Surefire logo is on the opposite side of the light and they do not have the patent numbers on them, where the two loose versions do. The displays are also missing the 'Caution Hot Surface' warning on the side of the bezel, and the anodizing is slightly mismatched when compared to the loose ones. I don't believe it's because one is a display model and the other is not, I believe it's simply a matter of one being slightly newer than the other. I'd guess the display lights were just pulled off the same line as the other Winelights.
  20. I've got one. V3, 9mm. Currently using a DM Bullard Dual Carry holster. I've been very happy with the gun.
  21. The laws are written to tell us what we are not allowed to do, as opposed to defining what we are allowed to do. If you're searching the TCA for something that specifically states that an 18 year old can purchase a handgun from a private seller, you probably won't find anything. Might be best to contact the seller and discuss the situation first.
  22. I don't believe they have the gun buster sign, so does 'Weapons or dangerous devices' in a list of prohibited items equate to a legal posting?
  23. Another thought, what type of .38 were you shooting? Short barreled snubnose or a long barrel?

    It's Here

There's about an inch on the ground here. I'm tempted to try and get a run to Bristol tomorrow, but I'm not sure. May be more fun watching people screw it up around Nashville.
