  1. Inbox cleaned, I'll PM you.
  2. Look at Craigslist. There are a bunch of used zero turn mowers in the farm and garden section.
  3. What type of vehicle? If it's running fine, I leave it alone. I just did all 8 in my truck, 194,000 miles and 3 of them failing on a cylinder contribution test, along with low power and a starting problem.
  4. Finish mowers are just like belly mowers, big lawnmowers. Not rough cut like a bush hog. Most modern ones are designed to mount of the three point. Not sure how large of a bush hog you're cutting with, but you could probably pull a 7' finish mower. Turning with a tractor and mower that size might be a pain if you have a lot of trees to go around. I don't recall too many, though.
  5. Finish mower for a tractor might be an option for your yard, if you were so inclined. Cheaper than a zero turn, and your tractor could probably pull a 6 or 7' finish mower. There would be more trimming after mowing compared to a zero turn, though.
  6. Willis, good to hear you're getting the liner done free! The Line X dealer in Madison did my work truck, and in my opinion they did a pretty poor job. It's got a couple of places where it's peeling up, and in the peeled spots it doesn't look like any prep work had been done underneath before they sprayed it. The paint is still shiny and smooth. I've considered having the rocker panels of my personal truck done, but if I do I won't have them do it! Not sure how the Rhino stuff compares, but in the end surface prep is 90% of the job.
  7. Good idea, but not the law. If your instructor told you that was the law, you got bad information.
  8. Why justify it? If you've got the money to take care of your family and buy the toys you want, then go buy the toys you want! That's justification enough, to me. Pictures will be required, of course.
  9. It is not legally posted. I've not seen any gunbuster signs or TCA language on the facility. Never been to a concert there though, can't say how security is. Probably wouldn't carry.
  10. Neat idea. I have a legal pad. Good idea.
  11. Since it's a diesel, I'd bet the EPA never allows it here. All new diesels have to have fairly complex emission control systems.
  12. I haven't used a K&N in a naturally aspirated vehicle. However, after my experiences with them in turbo'd diesel, I won't have one. When I was truck shopping the last time, anything with a K&N was immediately dropped from consideration. In my experience, they're absolute garbage. Trash. Junk. Have I been unclear? Seriously, I don't like them. Had one in a 7.3 PowerStroke truck, and it let dust through. My theory is that the turbo on the engine pulled a slight vacuum on the filter and it couldn't handle it, but I don't have the time/ equipment/ or care enough to put that theory to a scientific test. It did it straight out of the box. Cleaned and oiled it per the directions a couple of times, still did it. I've heard from several other folks with these engines that they've experienced the same thing. Your mileage may vary.
  13. I had one at one time. I know the folding stocks were illegal under the old AWB, so they were sold fixed. Same folding apparatus, just locked in the extended position. Frankly, I was pretty disappointed in mine. Aside from the fact that I like the wood stock version better, I found the folding stock was loose at the hinge and took some work to shoot accurately. The entire stock just didn't feel as solid as the original version, partly due to the light weight and I think partially due to the fact that it was somewhat hollow.
  14. It is. A few of us over there.
  15. Interesting. I appreciate the info!
  16. I saw the link, but I wonder if this might not be a similar situation to the ATF's FAQ sheet or whatever it is with regard to shipping firearms, where the quick- guide doesn't necessarily add up to the actual law. As for the DMV, I know a lot of guys running 16,000 pound plates on farm trucks with GVWRs of around 12,500 lbs.
  17. Well...there ya go. 6.8, I think there's a newer gun store right off the square, on Water toward the jail. Blue Line, I think. Haven't been in, but driven past it a time or two.
  18. Yep, OS is right about the air brakes. We run some air brake equipped, below 26k trucks as well and those guys don't have their CDL. In my personal experience, the DOT in TN and GA don't look at the manufacturer's GVWR on the door sticker, but the registered weight. We have one truck that's rated at about 31k on the door, but has an aftermarket tag axle and is registered at 51k. TN will let us run 51 with the tag axle down. Georgia doesn't recognize tag axles for weight purposes, one other driver found that out when they told him he was several thousand over on his fixed drive axle. That was a long night. His gross weight, about 38k was legal, just way over on the drive axle.
  19. I have to get the lower assembled, then we'll talk about an upper. May check on having the trigger parts smoothed out a bit before install.
  20. Aww, c'mon man! Shot it today? When? Where? Bah! I've got a safe we can shoot at. Should have a lower parts kit on the way from the Trading Post for mine.
  21. A Mosin is probably the best centerfire deal out there right now. A Turk Mauser might be in second place, but ammo cost and availability (of the rifle and ammo) puts the Mosin ahead. A nice Mosin, like a Finnish model, may sell for 350-400 on the high end. A basic 91/30 can be found for about 100 bucks, and that's a hard deal to beat.
  22. Pops, a lot of those single axle box trucks don't require a CDL. If it's registered at 26,000 lbs or below, you likely won't have to have one. If anything, you might need a class C or an F endorsement on your regular license.
