  1. That's a good looking shooter, Greg.
  2. I've been told worse. Streamlights are solid lights, I've had one in my toolbag for four or five years. No complaints, other than the string of bad chargers I had right after I bought it. Can that mount be swapped to put the light on the other side? Would be more lefty- friendly that way.
  3. Doesn't sound like you're carrying enough weight to really make a difference. However, most factory built trailers should be built with a roughly 60/40% split for weight distribution. You'll notice the axle is a little closer to the rear of the trailer to achieve that. If you start hauling heavy stuff then you may have to play with the load balancing to get the proper tongue weight, but with that size trailer and a Jeep you should be fine. It's also a good idea to cross your safety chains. Hook the driver side on the trailer to the passenger's side on the Jeep, and vice versa. That way if anything does happen, the chains will catch the tongue of the trailer and keep it from digging into the road.
  4. In middle TN, I like D&T. Good service, nice selection, knowledgeable folks working there. Great group of people. I haven't bought a gun from anywhere else since they opened. In all fairness, I haven't bought many guns lately, but they've had what I wanted when I wanted it. Guns For America isn't bad, but I haven't been by in a long time.
  5. Check out D&T Arms in Rivergate. Last time I was in, they had a pretty good selection of 1911s. They also stock some Kandros Custom 1911s. I'm not much of a 1911 guy, but they look pretty nice.
  6. Got the bumper part covered, it seems. 55-9-215. Operation of motor vehicle without adequate energy absorption system prohibited — Alteration of altitude from ground level of passenger car prohibited — Modification of front end by lift blocks prohibited — Modification of steering mechanism prohibited — Exceptions — Enforcement — Penalties. — (a) No person shall operate a motor vehicle on any road, street or highway unless the vehicle is equipped with a bumper or other energy absorption system with an analogous function. ( (1) No person shall operate a passenger vehicle, except a four-wheel drive recreational vehicle, of a type required to be registered under the laws of this state upon a public highway or street modified by reason of alteration of its altitude from the ground if its bumpers, measured to any point on a load-bearing member on the horizontal bumper bar, are more than twenty-two inches (22²) above the ground, except that no vehicle shall be modified to cause the vehicle body or chassis to come in contact with the ground or expose the fuel tank to damage from collision or cause the wheels to come in contact with the body under normal operation, and that no part of the original suspension system be disconnected to defeat the safe operation of the suspension system; provided, that nothing contained in this section shall prevent the installation of heavy duty equipment to include shock absorbers and overload springs; and provided further, that nothing contained in this section shall prevent a person from operating a motor vehicle on a public highway with normal wear of the suspension system if normal wear does not affect the control of the vehicle. (2) No person shall operate a four-wheel drive recreational vehicle of a type required to be registered under the laws of this state upon a public highway or street modified by reason of alteration of its altitude from the ground if its bumpers, measured to any point on a load-bearing member on the horizontal bumper bar, are not within the range of fourteen to thirty-one inches (14²-31²) above the ground, except that no vehicle shall be modified to cause the vehicle body or chassis to come in contact with the ground or expose the fuel tank to damage from collision or cause the wheels to come in contact with the body under normal operation, and that no part of the original suspension system be disconnected to defeat the safe operation of the suspension system; provided, that nothing contained in this section shall prevent the installation of heavy duty equipment to include shock absorbers and overload springs; and provided further, that nothing contained in this section shall prevent a person from operating a motor vehicle on a public highway with normal wear of the suspension system if normal wear does not affect the control of the vehicle. In the case of a four-wheel drive vehicle where the thirty-one-inch limitation is exceeded, the vehicle will comply with this section if the vehicle is equipped with a drop bumper. The drop bumper must be bolted and welded to the frame of the vehicle and be made of a strength equal to a stock bumper.
  7. I believe the Wilson County Fairgrounds may be posted. Seems like it was the last time I went to the fair. Might be worth checking on.
  8. What draws you to the Rivergate mall, if you don't mind my asking?
  9. I wasn't overly impressed by Sumner Guns the last time I was in, but that's been a year or so. Probably need to stop by there and York now, just to see what's going on. If York and Sumner Guns both complete their ranges, that will be three indoor ranges within a few minutes of each other (those two and the one over at Asherbrenner's), with N Range and G&L Hendersonville not too much further away.
  10. Just curious, what brand of safe was it? I had a Champion safe that was dropped by a forklift from 20-30 feet multiple times. The sheetrock inside turned to dust, and the handle broke, but the body still seemed fairly sound and straight. If you do have to replace it, you might consider Champion. I was impressed.
  11. Check with The Safe House in Nashville. With the door/ body being out of square, the others are probably right and this one's done. But if anyone can fix it, it'll be the guys at The Safe House. If nothing else, they can tell you for sure if it's toast or not.
  12. Would you consider a (potentially) short term position?
  13. Who teaches that class? Wasn't Buford Tune doing their classes at one point?
  14. Very rarely any deals at an auction, especially guns. Folks get caught up in bidding, fall in love with an item, or don't want to 'lose' to the guy bidding against them. Very hard to get a deal at an auction. Seems like stuff sells for more than new prices far more often than anyone gets a deal. If you go, know exactly what you're bidding on, what it's worth, and what you're willing to pay for it before you start bidding, and stick to it. Most auctions have a buyer's premium on top of the final bid cost, so be aware of what that is as well and factor that into your bid.
  15. I know a couple of folks that use StraightTalk, and are very happy with it. Coverage is pretty good.
  16. Had some Dom Perignon from my Battle Mug one time. It was interesting. Never tried Jack out of the mug...that's a lot of Jack...
  17. This. Sickle bars were the hay mower of choice in years past, and are still somewhat popular with folks who don't have disc mowers. I'd bet you have found the broken tooth off of a sickle bar mower.
  18. In my experience, usually after broadcasting seed on top of the ground it would be run over with a disc, and thus turned somewhat into the soil. That's the only thing I can think of that might be 'outside' normal agricultural practice. I know there are a lot of folks that disk, broadcast seed, and leave it at that without discing again. So long as bare seed isn't laying on the ground while you're hunting, I doubt there would be an issue.
  19. I saw one at Lowes today. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for yourself."
  20. Nah, to really use that logistics degree he'd be sending someone else to pick it up. Not that he needs another endorsement, but Erik's a great guy.
  21. They were right then, too. Country ain't been right for far too long now.
  22. You sir, are absolutely correct. Country, ain't country no more...
