That's actually true. Most semi trucks only have the two steer tires balanced. The 8 drive tires and 8 trailer tires are very rarely done, especially on company owned trucks. We deal with lead at work, but not wheel weights. A growing number of companies don't want to release lead to an individual because there is some liability. Lead is hazardous when it's being melted and cast, our guys are supposed to be tested for lead poisoning every 6 months. Say a company gave John Doe a bucket of lead. He took it home, started melting and casting it in his unventilated basement, and a few months later gave himself lead poisoning. What's to keep him from turning around and suing the company he got the lead from? I know it's an unlikely scenario, but a lot of companies get very cautious when it comes to potential liability, whatever the odds of it are.

Does that mean that they've been cured of heterosexuality? It doesn't make a difference one way or the other, both sides are pretty set in their opinions. I doubt any of us have changed anyone else's opinions in this thread. -

No, I've done a bit of research on some of these ex-gay ministries like Exodus and Living Waters. There are others out there like them, but those are the big two. They're religious organizations that believe one can 'pray the gay away' with enough faith. The problem is, even they will admit their programs do not achieve results. Let me explain. A gay man (or lesbian woman, but gay is shorter to type. ) is a man with intimate or sexual attractions to another man. The ex-gay ministries believe and advocate the use of 'therapy' and prayer in order to abstain from acting on homosexual attractions. However if you talk to some of the folks involved with these groups, both in leadership and people seeking 'help', they will admit that the gay 'urges' never go away. They are able to repress the urges, and by not acting on them they feel that they do not sin, and as a result have been 'cured'. I don't know about you, but if a man goes in with gay attractions and comes out with gay attractions, somehow I don't think anything has changed. Some do go on to have heterosexual relationships, but even then they will admit that the urges are still there. A large majority of their so called success stories fail, but you rarely hear about that from the folks promoting these groups. -

There already are. In most states those services don't carry any legal weight, but there actually is a slowly growing group within Christianity that is openly accepting of gay folks. -

How do two unmarried adults file their taxes jointly? How does one leave their military retirement to the other? How does one become notified in an emergency (thinking car crash, first responders, etc) as next of kin? I agree that a lot of things commonly called 'gay rights' can be accomplished through proper legal paperwork, but it's a stretch to say that's not the real issue. Most gay folks I've talked to don't much care what the church thinks of them, they just want it to leave them alone. The ones that do want church interaction find it in various ways, including a growing number of gay friendly churches. Dang, OS outposted me. -

It occurs commonly in animals. Doesn't get much more natural than nature. Besides, the argument from most gay folks is that it is natural to them. Ah, I found it. Abijah had 14 wives in 2nd Chronicles 13:21, and Abraham took Hagar the Egyptian as a second wife in Genesis 25:1. There are others, but thos are the first two that I found. -

That's quite a stretch there, don't you think? I mean, I know they say guys are dogs, but your interpretation seems a bit literal! So, how many wives do you have? I mean, since there were Biblical characters with multiple wives that's cool, right?. And who was it that got seduced by one of his daughters? Lot, I believe? -

My 'defense' of gay or lesbian couples being able to marry or enter into a civil union is that straight couples are able to. As a result, straight couples who do so receive benefits from the government that homosexual couples can not receive. You're the one that stated gays had to 'earn' those benefits. I simply asked how straight couples 'earn' them. By your example, should straight couples that are medically unable or simply choose not to have children not be allowed to marry? This is one of those topics where folks on both sides are convinced they're right, so there really is no give. Spinning wheels in the mud, really. -

What has a straight couple done to 'earn' the benefit of filing their taxes jointly that a gay couple hasn't? -

Denying benefits to one group because they don't fit your idea of 'normal' doesn't apply? -

Maybe, because I didn't reference 'rights' anywhere. The biggest thing gay couples have to gain from 'marriage' or civil unions or whatever you want to call it is equal access to government benefits. In my opinion, most of those benefits should be done away with entirely, regardless of one's sexual preference or relationship status, but that's a different issue. I commented on the percentage. I believe it's wrong. I would say that 2% is a very low estimate, just like I would say 14-15% is a very high estimate. The problem is most of the groups that have done surveys are heavily biased in one direction or the other, and equally unreliable. -

In most states, it's the ability to marry and have the benefits that go along with that. The ability to file taxes jointly, hospital visitation, being notified as 'next of kin' in the event of an emergency. There's also Social Security benefits, military support for a spouse, and employer's pensions that can be left to a spouse. The problem is, America has gotten too focused for a variety of reasons on the wrong question. Instead of asking "Why does this group not get those benefits," the better question for the majority of these issues is "Why is the government involved in these 'benefits' to begin with?" -

You can't really trust anyone's numbers when it comes to the number of gay folks in America. The liberal organizations report higher numbers than the conservative organizations, and they both use some funny survey practices to get there. If you go to the extremes, the number of gay people could range anywhere from 2% to 14%. -
What particular community is it close to? I grew up over there.

He won't come through for you. A bunch of the American public will whine a cry. Nothing will happen. We will all continue to be effed in this deal as the Titanic continues to sink. The general public will not care, or raise a ruckus as they will still receive their handouts from Big Daddy Government...or to go along with the metaphor, the band is still playing in the ballroom.

Most all of them are, these days. The modern Bolens is a far cry from the good ole days. If it's not made by MTD, it's usually AYP (American Yard Products). There's one more, maybe Great American Products? They buy up the names of good old garden tractors, then slap them on cheap junk. If it's at a big box store, it's usually no different from the stuff at the next box store down the street, regardless of the name on the hood. As for the air gun, that's just for convenience. You can hold the main pulley with one hand and run the air gun with the other to break the bolt loose, using hand tools makes it a more difficult process.

How will 3/8" AR500 steel plate hold up to .308 rounds?

Ah, they're not so bad. I've had 5 trailers, done light work on all of them. Usually bad grounds, or those stupid scotch locks. Or the guys that built the trailer didn't have a clue what they were doing. All three are about equally likely. This is why I like LED trailer lights. Brighter, faster, and far less likely to burn out.

They don't know. Whoever it is. The folks at the clerk's office, your buddy that knows a guy whose cousin got a ticket one time, the 3 different Highway Patrolmen you ask, almost everybody will tell you something different. Brake requirements are based on weight ratings, not length. Most states require brakes on at least one axle if the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of the trailer is 3,000 lbs or above. I'm not sure if TN requires it or not, but most quality trailers in the 7,000 lb range (usually tandem 3,500 lb axles) will have brakes on at least one axle. Buy the trailer you like. In the size you describe, towing with your F-150, I doubt you'll ever have a problem. Local officers usually don't hassle you over weight ratings and towing requirements, or 90% of landscapers would spend all their time getting tickets. Strap down the lawnmower, doofus! The only officers that might trouble you are THP/ TDOT, and if you look legal they'll usually leave you alone, whether you are or not. -

What year is your truck? I've used the Tekonosha Voyager, and know a lot of people using the Prodigy. If I were to buy one today, I'd probably get the Prodigy. May wind up with one, as I'm chasing a problem with my current setup and think the controller may be at fault. The Voyager works okay, but the Prodigy is a bit smoother. -
Yep. Waivers filled out and sent to LagerHead, then he can turn them in to TDOT when he picks up the supplies (signs and trash bags).
-
Regarding the waivers, TDOT has changed some of the language on their form a while back. From what the lady told me, all volunteers would have to fill out the new waivers before the clean up, even if their old waiver was on file.

It sounds like Gentry's purchases a trailer, marks it up, and resells it. Nothing wrong with that. BJs builds theirs right there. Does Gentry's offer any sort of a service department? BJs put tires on my trailer with about an hour's worth of notice, and still beat everybody else I called by about $60.00 per tire. The box on my trailer that holds the brake away battery was broken, and they gave me a new one for free. I like the folks at BJs. They're a local business, and they have treated me very well. -

I'd avoid a used trailer. By the time you put tires on it, fix the lights, maybe a coat of paint on top of the costs of the trailer, you're usually pretty close to the cost of a brand new one. Check BJ's Trailer Sales on 109. What do you plan to haul on it, and tow it with? *Edit* Dave beat me by just a hair. I've been woefully unimpressed with Gator trailers. The paint is usually poor, and the wiring on the ones I looked at would've been sorry on it's best day. I have one of BJ's trailers, and it's a quality product for the weight/ price. BJ's has great service, too.
