I'll have to take your word for it, I can't recognize that photo. I downloaded a program called Bean that claims to be a word processor for Mac. I type stuff in it, and can either save it there or copy/ paste it to web forums. Doesn't always work in the web forums, something about it doesn't jive just right...

I have a Macbook, works like a champ. I click on Safari, managed to set TGO as a bookmark, and that's as in depth as I can get. Are you using a word processor to write the post before loading it to TGO?

I've hit my share of hornets' nests with bushhogs before, and I've never had the luxury of a cabbed tractor. Holy mercy, there's not a machine in the world that can get away from there fast enough. The worst is when you hit it and keep going, then the swarm rises up from the grass when you come around for the next pass...

A stark realization at the office today.....

It ain't the years, it's the miles. When I was 24 years old I was a senior lead technician at an equipment dealer responsible for training all of our new hires. I felt old then, and time hasn't made it much better. Worked a ranch a little while back, there was a gentleman in his late 70's or early 80's still riding a horse and roping out calves. Here's hoping we all should be so fortunate... -
The store is open, but Sam has his own schedule. Last time I dealt with him a few years ago he had a young guy that was helping or apprenticing with him.

Gun shop owner declares store Muslim-free zone
56FordGuy replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
Yup, more to that story than posted. There was no gag order and the last article I read said the fine still hadn't been imposed. The backdrop to that is Oregon passed an anti discrimination law that includes gay folks. You can't refuse to serve a gay person in Oregon because they're gay any more than you can refuse to serve a black person because they're black. When you operate a business in that state, you agree to abide by those regulations. I think it's ridiculous, but the odds of ever being able to repeal anti discrimination laws are so small they really shouldn't even count as odds. It just won't happen. It should, but it won't. It does make me chuckle a little though, when new anti discrimination legislation is proposed and the religion of love thy neighbor and do unto others starts crying for an exemption so that they can discriminate. -
Gun shop owner declares store Muslim-free zone

When/ where did that happen? Why, how very Christian of you... -
Flags in Cheyenne, Wyoming were at half staff today. Might've been for a few days, I just went into town today.

I would be willing to bet the answer will be no. I've never, ever seen a 'good deal' on a firearm at a gun auction. Usually everything goes for retail or more. There might be one or two guns that slip through the cracks and sell for something resembling a reasonable price, but it doesn't happen often.

If you're really concerned, sell it or give it to a friend/ neighbor before the move. It has the potential to be a problem, but so does the fuel tank on the moving truck. The release/ paperwork was drawn up by an attorney somewhere and exists only to protect the truck company from liability. Lots of people have to haul propane every day. I used to carry two full tanks on the semi in case I had to load up a machine that was out of fuel, and my portable forge runs off of a 100 lb tank that has been hauled who knows how many miles. Farriers (the people that shoe horses) haul propane tanks in their trucks/ vans to run the shoeing forges as well. I carried a propane cutting torch in my last work truck. Heck, propane is delivered to my house in a big truck with a tank on the back and the grill tanks get to the stores loaded up in a semi trailer. Do whatever you're comfortable with, a grill tank really isn't worth a whole lot of money in the grand scheme of things. However, I see no reason to leave it behind just because the lawyer that wants to protect the rental company said it would be a good idea.

Went to Walmart. Received poor service. :-\ In other news, the sun came up this morning and the sky is blue.

That's what it all comes down to. If I can buy a Glock (just making up an example) from a local gun shop for $500, or spend an hour and a half driving to meet you and burning $40-50 worth of diesel to get one for $400...eh. I'll support my local shop and spend 20 minutes in the truck. Now, if you had something I couldn't find just anywhere; a Remington 552, a Winchester .357 lever rifle, etc...I wouldn't balk at spending a few hours driving to make the deal. It all comes down to how available whatever you have is from another source.

Carrying into someone's home?
56FordGuy replied to Grayfox54's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I think a lot of gun owners and HCP holders, to some degree are still uncomfortable with the fact that they have a gun so they think everyone else is as well. -
This. I can work overtime, pick up a second job, or sell something to find more money. There's nothing I can do to create more time, and none of us know how much of it we'll even have. If I'm going to invest my time in something, it has to be worthwhile. 20% off of a $500 item is $100. Not counting the cost of fuel, if it's a commonly available item I wouldn't drive more than 45 minutes to an hour one way.

How determined is determined? A cordless grinder and a cutoff wheel, if they don't just cut the lock they'll cut the trunk floor around where it mounts and get it free later.

Wells out here run 150-300' down. I looked at a few properties without a well when I was house hunting. Bids started at $10k, and they said realistically it might be closer to $15 and that was per hole. If they didn't hit water or hit bad water, you still had to pay for the hole. The process started all over if they had to drill a second hole. Geographic area makes a huge difference in where the water table is.

I thought I remembered something about that, but wasn't sure if it was the same folks.

I don't think the south would either.

Is a trans gendered bison similar to a beefalo?

I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything important. They did throw me out of training camp and all...

While I agree with your premise (long threads eventually turn gay), what do fluffy cows have to do with gay?

Maybe a matter of semantics, but do "assed" chaps even exist? Wouldn't that just be leather pants? As for whatever those shoe things are, I'd be willing to bet you could've found a pair walking around the CMA festival.

I really don't have a strong desire for a Beretta, but Gallatin, TN on the side would probably cause me to end up with one. :)

I had the same TV problem Dave did: I'd bet he had a Samsung as well. A little online digging found that Samsung actually had a program where they would fix them for free, even years out of warranty. They sent a guy to my house, he replaced the entire board and it's been great ever since. You can certainly repair consumer electronics if you're willing to try it. I've had to replace board level components in my fridge, microwave, and a small lathe controller. Saved a bunch of money doing the troubleshooting and labor myself, new boards for all that stuff would've been somewhere around $1,000 all put together. I say try it. Not like you can make it any worse.
