Herman Cain WINS in New Hampshire!!!
oldogy replied to 1gewehr's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'd vote for him and his principles. Boortz made the statement that Cain would be the end of the "race card" in America. oldogy Washington needs an enema -
So far the courts have not bastardized the first as they have the second,,,,,,,but they're trying. oldogy

Maybe we need to discuss the second amendment a bit more on here. oldogy

I have the model 12 that belonged to my dad. The sn places it at 1922 vintage and it has the nickel steel barrel. It was his gun of choice for bird hunting and turkey shoots, a hard shooting gun and it had been shot a lot. I investigated the value before I decided to "improve" the looks of it several years back. The gun did not seem to have any significant monetary value, just a lot of sentimental value to me. I still shoot it occasionally. I keep it loaded with buckshot for any special occasion that may arise . Enjoy your granddad's gun. oldogy

I am sure it just does not get any better for you and your daughter. oldogy

My motorhome has the backup camera and I like it, very useful. I leave it on all the time, check it frequently to make certain the jeep is trailing ok. I find I use it as much as I do the side mirrors. But, I do not need the government telling me how to equip a vehicle, let the market decide. oldogy

How close is your home to a nuclear power plant?

'Bout a fifteen minute drive if there is no traffic. oldogy -
Yeah, I pulled through the parking lot of the one on 411 on the north side of Madisonville and there it was on the door, big and ugly as all get out. oldogy

Chances are the wood is trash anyway. Ax or hatchet to split the wood and a man size crow bar on the nails and screws. oldogy

I got my letter but the dear wife did not get hers so I doubt if they're using the HCP database. I do make an annual contribution to the local rescue squads and the local volunteer fire dept. oldogy

This: Years ago my property was the on the receiving end of similar dumping that included household garbage. A bit of messy sleuthing turned up several letters with names and an address. One short unpleasant visit to the address and a conversation and Mr. xxxxxxxx soon realized that he had a serious problem if he did not clean up the mess as the law had been alerted. A very short time later Mr. xxxxxxx and his kids were out cleaning up the mess. IMO, anyone who is dumb enough to dump is dumb enough to leave a trail. Even the serial number on an appliance may be enough to trace the culprit. oldogy

As mentioned, sniper software. And it may not work if someone else is using a better service. oldogy

I read Atlas Shrugged when it was first published and a couple times since. I doubt if I will see the movie as I refuse to support anything coming out of holliwierd. Sigmtnman, Your take on the book is about right. The second statement is golden. Guess I'm too dense to have ever caught that. oldogy

Personal experience: I have my late fathers model 12, 12 ga Winchester of 1927 vintage. I know for a fact the gun has spent most of its life loaded either with a plug plus three or full load of ammunition. Over the years it has had a lot of lead put through it. I fire the gun once in a while when something needs shootin' and currently keep it loaded with HD loads. I assure you the tubular magazine spring is still strong enough to work just fine. Just my experience, yours may differ. I keep all my magazines loaded. oldogy

If this country is to survive as we know it we must elect someone who understands and believes in the free enterprise system and divorce ourselves from these career politicians. Herman Cain is articulate enough and has the business background we need to turn the country around. Boortz had a list of good things that would come with Cain as a candidate. The one I remember is that the race card would be long gone if Cain were to become a serious candidate. Side note: It is going to be interesting, hearing the squeals from the unions and liberals when someone actually comes up with a plan to cut some spending, borrowing to spend. oldogy

You're going to need that lubrication even more when the dollar is no longer accepted as world currency, thanks to our deficit spending. December 11, 2011 will be the date. We're in deep trouble boys and girls. oldogy

Up till this year I burned a bit of pine along with hardwoods in my fireplace. I have had the fireplace, chimney cleaned every year and it has never had a big creasote build up. This year I installed a Jotul clean burn stove and a stainless steel flue liner and continue to burn some pine along with hardwoods. With the stove I am burning a whole lot hotter than I ever could with the fireplace and I see no signs of build up. On a forum of another subject I talk with folks in some areas that burn nothing but pines. oldogy

A gun rack is a good option. Hang stuff, like range bags, GF or wife's purse or a man purse, hats, gun belt and holster, and the list goes on. You could even hang a rifle or shotgun on it. A friend had a marine mesh net, like they use in boats, hanging from his gun rack where he threw all kinds of small stuff. They make storage boxes that fit in the center of the seat, not pretty but fairly functional. My Ranger has a lockable storage area behind the bench seat but my Ranger is a 1973 model F250...A bit larger than the current Ranger. oldogy

Thanks for a great story. Reminds me of my first 'coon. I was in my early teens, stealth hunting squirrels on my grandparents bottom land about mid morning. I watched this big gray head up a big tall sycamore and disappear. Round and round the tree I looked and then I saw 'it' laying in the forks quite a ways up. So I backed up to where I could get a shot and let go with the 12 ga loaded with probably #6. Much to my surprise, down tumbled an old boar coon. So that coon was my first attempt at tanning a hide. oldogy
