I had a PF9 several years back. In a moment of weakness, I sold it to a TGO member after I started carrying my G27. I do believe I want another. Just sometimes when the PF9 is easier to conceal than the G27 or the SW 442.

Think I let the dealership take me for a ride...

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, absorbs moisture, and the moisture will cause rust in the calipers and or cylinders long term. A hard working brake system usually gets hot enough to boil that moisture out of the fluid. That said, you did no harm when you had the fluid changed and if you keep the vehicle for many years you did you and the vehicle a favor. And of course, brake fluid like any fluid will deteriorate over time. IMO, based on playing with collectable type cars for many years, a good brake flush is a good thing. You may have been a bit early at 43K miles. oldogy -
Are those Goodyear MTRs? They look good but I do see a lot of weight stuck on the wheel, normal for the MTR. If they are MTRs you will want to keep them rotated. Don't bother asking me why. Don't expect much wet road traction on any aggressive tread tire. But then you have full traction control and ABS I believe. I would suspect you may get a slight contact at full flex. The two inch spring spacers work well. I have them on the '05 Rubicon Unlimited with 32s. Tires do deteriorate with age. Five years is normally considered the life of a heavily worked tire or one that is exposed the the weather all the time. Tires on my motor home showed signs of deterioration at less than 20K miles and it was always garaged when not in use. But, it was running at near MGVW all the time. oldogy

A good read. One book has been passed around TGO quite a bit. oldogy

Parson's Branch can be fun if the weather is cooperating. Lots of water crossing the roadway. So it brings you out on US 29, AKA Tail of the Dragon which is a fun drive itself. oldogy I'll add that I drove it in a Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited Rubicon and never had to go into 4WD let alone lock up and there was water running down the road many places.

Who got you started in hunting and fishing?
oldogy replied to roverboy's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I grew up at a time when just about everyone had guns, carried guns and hunted. My dad was a hunter and during hunting season his buddies were in and out of the business all the time. Always someone who would take the kid hunting. -
Interesting observation. I happen to live where I can observe the wildlife also. My own wildlife refuge, farmland to the front and mountains to the rear. This year we are down a few deer, no fox, no coyotes, lots of rabbits and squirrels, one hen turkey sighted. I have not heard a quail in a couple years, since back when the foxes and coyotes were thick here a couple years back. I do believe wildlife populations runs in cycles. oldogy

Orlando is a great area to be from. I lived and worked in the Orlando area for 30 years, before Disney and before air conditioning was the norm. The southside has been dominated by Disney, Universal, Sea World, and other tourist traps, lots of young folks, lots of partying, lots of traffic. It should be a young guy's delight today. Enjoy it. Stay off South Orange Blossom Trail, AKA hooker haven boulevard.

Ohio police threaten to execute permit holder video
oldogy replied to aquaman67's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
FAIL ...Just wrong in so many ways. The cop was probably upset with himself for his lack of awareness, how easily he could have been taken down by the driver. The video should be used as a training film on how not to make a traffic stop. oldogy -

I am far right enough to vote for her on those convictions. The federal stand on queer marriage and porn should be non Federal issues. Sharia law can not exist with the traditional American values. America has more significant problems. JMO, YMV. oldogy

Someone needed to say it. Thanks. Your third sentence says much. Yeah, I am an old person, drawing SS and paying taxes on it. I just recently looked at the figures as to what I paid into SS and what I paid into some investment accounts. My investment accounts are solvent. The SS funds were pissed away, like you said. oldogy

I owned, the wife drove Vetts for many years. Finally went through the museum in Bowling Green last week, June 23rd. Well worth the trip. Next time in the area I will schedule and tour the assembly line. oldogy

What do you do with when leaving in vehicle?
oldogy replied to NV2TN's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have two of the nanovault safes. The wife has the 100 and I have the 200 series. If someone really wanted either one they could cut the cable and run. They seem decent like quality for the money. oldogy -

I do like the 62A. They're one fine little plinker. Likewise on the 22/45. oldogy

This ol' boy grew up listening to the am clear channel "Grand ol Oprey" from the ryman every saturday night when I could get it. WCKY, Cincinnati had some good performances broadcast. And then there was the Old Dominion Barndance out of Virginia. I learned to enjoy 'country', 'cw' or even hillbilly as it was sometimes called. And then there was 'western' and 'western swing'. And then along came bluegrass. Love it all. The stuff that is being performed today is IMO not anything close to country. Nor are the performers country for the most part. I call the stuff that is being played today, 'Rocky Bop. oldogy

I sold mine in 2009. I would not ride in heavy traffic at all. My son did not survive his no fault crash in 1997. IMO, a bike for many commuting routes is the worst possible times and traffic. oldogy
