Will start saving them. I don't drink much of that devil's brew but the wife has been known to have a taste now and then. Ya want the corks with them?

RFC: unleashed dog, toddler, and a lowes parking lot ...
oldogy replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You and your wife both did fine, protect the kids. A kid off the ground and in a parent's arms is not going to be harmed very much by a medium size dog unless the dog is trained to attack. JMO oldogy -
Don't think this is how the "stand your ground law" works

What he just said. And why was Zimmerman even out of the relative safety of his vehicle? What is one of the first things you are supposed to learn when carrying? Certainly Zimmy was not avoiding conflict. Certainly enough here for a G J indictment. I just can not see where race comes into this at all. -
Depending on engine configuration, they may be after the cooling effect of more oil circulation and that of raw gas into the combustion chamber. oldogy, who no longer rides and never did rev an engine unnecessarily.

Looks like a very long interesting read. oldogy -

Depending on your local zoning, amount and topography of the property, would a 'guest house" or another garage with basement be an option. This is something the wife and I have discussed. The reinforced basement would become the safe room with the wife's studio above. But, we're looking at $25K--$30K with this project. oldogy

Man arrested because of picture his daughter drew (a GUN!)
oldogy replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
A very wise group that gave us the second amendment. Could they have visualized such? And we allow the trash to chip away at it. I can see such happening some places in the US. And the oldogy just shakes his head. -
All my guns are always loaded..........Only exception is immediately after firing. oldogy

They are around, most places. Chances are they see you many more times than you see them. oldogy

Shucks, I am still running a restored 1973 F250 Camper Special with the 390 FE power. In fact, I drove it yesterday. I've owned dozens of FEs over the years, most of them powering Thunderbirds.

First car, 1941 Chevy. The picture was taken late 1957. A four pointer on the fender. Still have the side arm pictured, High Sentinal 22. Kill was made with a model 94 Winchester 25-35. I had the car equipped for camping, rear seat out and a bed built in, stocked with essential foods for several days. The girls did not like the car at all but it sure was handy Guess I need to figure out how to post the picture with this new SW. oldogy

I always enjoyed freshly cooked mush, prepared with a bit of animal broth. Top it with real butter and a splash of sugar or maple syrup. The leftover was put in bread pans and it congealed to be sliced and fried another day...MMMMMM, Gooooooood. And then there was what is close to military SOS. Ground beef in white gravy on toast. Very seldom got it but I do like brains. Guess my favorite breakfast now is fish and eggs. Side note FWIW: It is a wonder any of us old timers are still around. My dad ate what he wanted all his 84 years. His last day he had prepared scrabble for my breakfast as he knew I was coming up to see him. We never got to eat it. oldogy

B. Keep covering him with your weapon. He could be faking it and waiting for an opportunity to escape. This. oldogy

Hillsdale College has launched a national campaign to educate citizens and elected folks about the meaning and history of the US Constitution. The course is free, however they ask for a donation. The course is outlined here: Thank you for your support of Hillsdale College's Constitution 101 | Hillsdale's Imprimis Offer Hillsdale college refuses all US government aid so as to maintain curriculum independence. The college is not always politically correct. I have no affiliation with Hillsdale other than being a strong supporter thereof. Just figured some of us would want to take the course. And I did sleep at their convention center last summer. oldogy

It appears there are a few of us ex central Floridians on here. At the time I was living north of Orlando. I was on top one of the taller buildings in downtown Orlando watching when the shuttle blew. I've seen a few of the shots up close where I could feel the ground shake and from a boat off shore. All of these were awesome. I was also in the auditorium of the same building mentioned above when the word came of Kennedy's assassination. Two major events that I will never forget. And Steelharp, I went to see Tammy about that time frame when she was in O town. I believe it was at the complex out east of town. oldogy

Ross Perot was a successful business man who ran for president, fed up with the direction the country was heading and unafraid to speak the truth. NAFTA was a fiasco from conception. The only good thing we got from NAFTA was Canadian oil. I can remember getting into an argument in a management class over NAFTA. The instructor could not counter my point that how our work force, making $20. per hour, could sell to a work force making twenty cents an hour. This is the universal potential problem with trade treaties. OP, you make valid points. And yes, on principal I voted for Perot. oldogy

We've had DTV for many years. Service has been outstanding. I kept getting solicited for special pricing for new users so I asked them for some of that special pricing. Conversation with the entry level phone person was going no where quickly so,,,,,,,,,,After some serious discussion with an "upgraded phone support person" I got and additional receiver installed at no cost, which we wanted. Don't spend a lot of time talking with the first line phone support person. My internet service is Wild Blue thru Dish Net. Probably not a good comparison to TV but their internet service just plane 'sucks'. oldogy

Check with a trailer manufacturing place if you have one nearby. Possibly they would have a piece with an imperfection that they would not put on a new trailer but for a ramp would suffice. And, consider a couple smaller pieces scabbed together on a frame or brace. Yeah, I don't believe you would want to ship metal very far, especially a piece that size. oldogy

I am about to finish the biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. Jobs was quite an interesting guy.
