My lovely wife has one for her Glock 17. She put a Holosun RDS on it. It's a lotta fun to shoot and she is very accurate with it out to 25 yards. If ammo was more plentiful, I believe she'd shoot every day if I'd throw targets for her. Oftentimes, we buy a few of those $3 per case sodas and blast away.

For the last 6 months or so, I have been of the opinion that the only safe assumption is that ... Whatever you have right now, is possibly all you will ever have. Buy/use accordingly. ETA: This includes firearms as well.

Never tried the Power Belts. I bought 2 boxes of the Barnes Spitfire TMZ bullets from Knight several years ago and have been using them ever since. The Wolf came with some of the PB's but I think they were 300 grains. So we picked up some of the TC spire points since I was a bit low on the Barnes and we couldn't find anything else because it was so close to opening day. I have a couple more boxes of the Spitfires ordered and we'll try those once they come in. P.S. The wife got her first deer yesterday morning. Spike on one side, broken off on the other. But to listen to her, you'd swear it was one for the record books! It was awesome.

Thanks for the info. In our case, this happens with less than 5 shots. It happened twice while sighting in the rifle over the course of like 8 shots. It might not matter ... I dunno if the pellets actually seat inside that ring, or if they rest on top of it. If they rest on top, then the gap between the pellets and breech plug is widening every time it gets loaded. I suppose it's irrelevant in the overall scheme of things. She has already said that she wants to get a different rifle if she continues to hunt. She wants a Knight. ETA ... Good group Henry347. Sorry for the hijack.

My wife decided she wants to hunt this year so we bought her a new CVA Wolf. It shoots where you point well enough I guess. I've noticed that after a few shots, a ring of powder builds up on the inside of the bore just above the breech plug. I have to remove the breech plug, and use a cleaning jag/patch to "bust" that ring outta there. I was wondering if either of your CVA's do that. We've used only 777 pellets and TC bullets that you mention above.

Need a sight recommendation for my AR-15

I have an Eotech 512. I recently wanted another holographic RDS for another firearm. 2 major areas of concern for me were "shake awake" and battery drain. I also don't like looking thru a tube for a zero magnification RDS. I prefer the reflex style. I bought a Holosun 507C. Yes it's China, and not really even China cheap in price! But so far, I'm happy with the product. As for batteries ... It will work with no battery as long as there is ambient light. Even indoors under LED/incandescent lighting. -
Would we even know about this situation if POTUS hadn't gotten involved?? I say kudos to him for screeching about it from the oval office. And if he backs out of it, will it be quietly swept under the rug as so many other things are?? I agree that it probably isn't in his job description. If the folks that truly are responsible for it actually did their job, he/we wouldn't have to worry about it.

Member of both here. But I won't renew NRA when it runs out.

I'm afraid you'll be severely disappointed. TLC no longer has anything to do with "learning" anything other than maybe how stupid modern society has become. Nat Geo is now primarily shows about criminals. Either being locked up or how they got that way. Discovery is now pretty much non stop reality show BS. It could legitimately be renamed "The Mike and Frank Network". (American Pickers) Edit ... Forgot History .... mostly junk also. One of those does have Forged In Fire. I watch that often. But they show far more reruns than new episodes so it gets old PDQ. If you have streaming capabilities, Curiosity Stream is informative. It was built by the same folks who built the original Discovery Channel. Science Channel is still pretty good. But it's in a higher tier pkg than my subscription so I only get to watch it on free preview days.

There is a small independent Verizon dealer near me that has Windows 3.1 on his main terminal at the counter. As I've mentioned before, I have one customer still running Windows 98 with sign cutting software on it.

Between the wife and I, there are more than 4 and less than 10 FS and a pair of micro carry units around here somewhere. She's a "Glockaholic" and I'm partial to Sig. Yea we like full size frames.

Black Dog Machine I have a dozen or so BDM mags. Most of them are 15 rounders and a couple of 25's. The higher cap models are too long for bipod shooting. Never had problems with any of them after several thousand rounds. (combined) ETA: I use CMMG bolts. I don't know anything about the Ciener units.

Dedicated uppers are the route I chose. The wife and I now have 3 of them. 2 from these guys 1 assembled from parts from these fine folks.

I have a pair of .22LR's that I shoot for various activities. A 16" that I use at 50 yards and out. That one has a Burris XTRII 2.5-10x42. Nice enough scope. Good glass. Zero stop. And tracks great. But the parallax goes no lower than 50 yards. Playing dot shooting games at 25 yards, it's less than ideal. (To be exact it sucks.) Spinners at 100 yards, and soda cans out to 175 yards, it shines. The other is a shorter barrel in a pistol configuration. It has a Barska Level 1.5-6x44 on it. (Go ahead and laugh now) It won't track worth a crap so forget dialing yardage. But once zeroed, it stays where you put it. The parallax will dial down to 10 yards. Those 25 yard dot games ... it'll run circles around the other setup. It'll remain accurate at longer yardages, but you gotta use hold overs w/o dialing. So as mentioned above, it depends a lot on what you wanna do with it. Tools for the job. PS My wife's .22LR has a Nikon 2-7 Rimfire on it. It works fine. But once again, at 25, that Barksa will run circles around it in clarity and lighting.

Has anyone participated in a gun control poll recently?
DL126 replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
A few years ago I was called by someone conducting a political poll. It was just before the 2016 election. I answered their questions, and then a few days later I was called again for another political poll. As the questions began, I immediately recognized them as the same questions that were asked the last time. I stopped the lady on the other end of the line and informed her that I had already answered these questions just a few days before. Then I asked her how the hell their data would be accurate if they polled the same people over and over. She said she'd check into it, apologized and hung up. They never called again. -

"A report published by the Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium also claims the scopes in question had made it into the hands of Taliban fighters." I decided to edit what I posted earlier as it was probably in bad taste considering the implications of what "could" happen if this equipment made it into those hands. But suffice it to say, I'd sure hate to know ATN equipment was what I had to depend on in any sort of conflict. And IIRC, this won't be the first time ATN has found themselves in violation of ITAR regs. Once before it had something to do with Russian NV tubes or something of the likes.

Any experience with ATN x-sight pro 4K?
DL126 replied to plinker4life's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Had one. Returned to seller. Good concept, extremely poor execution. Software was the biggest problem. It would continuously lock up and/or go to a black screen requiring a hard reset to get it going again. I agree with the NV folks on arfcom .... "Run!" Check in here .... http://atnowners.com Look into the Sightmark Wraith. I don't have one .... yet. (waiting / watching)- 1 reply

bersaguy Your computer isn't gonna stop working just because Microsh1t stops updating it. I have customers still on Vista, many still on 7, some on 8.1, with a random XP machine here and there. One still on Win98! If you're using Microsoft Security Essentials, you'll probably have to change that to something third party. Avast has a free version. Just keep on keeping on until a replacement unit is in your budget. Most home users do email, web browsing, and social media crap. All of which can be done on an iPad with much less "upkeep" over time. And you can get one from Verizon that has 4G in it if you're so inclined. I have one for field work that has replaced a Windoze laptop that I lugged for many years. As a side note, I've used Linux Mint for several years now on my personal desktop. I have Win10 set up in a VM, but I haven't even launched it in over a year. I can feel my blood pressure going up as soon as the splash screen comes into view!
