  1. Thing is A&E did the pushing. Phil quoted the Bible in response to a question he was asked. A&E got all bent out of shape because they didn't like the answer. A&E dictated, not Phil.
  2. I don't see this issue ending well for A&E. Lots of support for Phil http://www.grassfirehq.com/201090/petition.asp?Ref_ID=700102
  3. Certainly doesn't sound like they will go on without Phil, and I don't blame them.
  4. Wow, nearly 1.3 million likes since Wednesday! https://www.facebook.com/Philrobertsonsupport?fref=ts
  5. A double barrel AR. Cool! :)
  6. I don't think I have ever seen any in a store. I got mine from Amazon.
  7. I believe Phil is a man of principle and thus he would rather give up his high profile job. Not everyone is willing to bow a knee to baal. Plus, I'm guessing that the Robertsons have all the money they need with or without the show.
  8. I also have a TK15. Love it. I carry a Fenix LD15 in my pocket always or when the TK15 is not needed. Fenix lights are awesome.
  9. Welcome!
  10. Congrats! Nice shotgun. I love my 870.
  11. Welcome!
  12. And why all of our US Flags are at Half-Mast???
  13. Welcome!
  14. I would come out of my skin if I saw someone point a gun at anyone else and dry fire it. I'll never understand how people can play a "game" like that. Some of you have said before, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes." I think that definitely applies here. He certainly won the stupid prize for the "game" he had been playing.
  15. 53* and light rain over here on the east side of the state.
  16. I own some land jointly with my parents. We entered into the agreement cautiously with the intention of building two houses. It has been a huge challenge getting everything setup legally and talking through all the "uncomfortable" details. We all get along great, and they want to live close to us as they get older. I would not buy land jointly with a BIL. Have you considered who's name will be on the deed? Deed of Trust, Deed of Surviorship? How will you finance two houses? Will you be responsible for the financing on two homes if he looses his job? What if he wants to sell the timber/raise goats/dig a pond/etc but you don't? Can you even leave your home to kids, etc or will he own it upon your passing? There are so many tough questions and complications. I would take the above advice in this thread and look for two adjoining tracts... You buy one and he buys the other. Just my thoughts on it. This can be a lot of fun and a great thing, but I would definitely eliminate the complication of joint ownership. Good luck!
  17. I haven't been on in a couple of days, so I'm just catching up. I'm so glad she is home safe! I have a 14yo daughter myself, and I would have been going crazy. You did the right thing getting the word out. Wow, glad you found her.
  18. Welcome!
  19. Sweet rifle!
  20. Thanks! Somehow I didnt see your question until now. My order # was 486076.
  21. I watched my grandfather butcher his deer when I was a kid. I wish he was still around so I could ask him questions. I can fumble my way through it, but I usually just take it to a processor. I'd like to learn it better, so I can know exactly what I'm getting (and same some $$). I'll have to start watching some YouTube on it I guess
  22. I prefer evening hunts by a large margin. Sleeping in and deer hunting are two of my favorite things... afternoon hunts on a day off offer the best of both worlds :) I enjoy slipping quietly through the afternoon woods to my stand (have shot several deer before I even get there) and not being in a rush. I also enjoy being able to see where I am going without a flashlight. I do enjoy the woods "waking up" on morning hunts, but I also enjoy watching the woods settle down for sunset, too. Evening hunts just seem easier to me. Morning hunts are nice too but not my favorite. My preference is to go to my stand around noon and sit until dark. I see lots of deer midday and late afternoon. The downside is that end up tracking some deer after dark. Another plus is that if you're hunting with a buddy, everyone is ready to leave at the same time.
  23. Nice deer! I was out there in my stand an hour before daylight, and wow it was cold! 18* before I hit the woods. I was dressed for it though and had a good time. The squirrels were tearin' the place up, but I didn't see any deer. I stayed until about 11:30 eastern. I was thankful to have the opportunity this frosty morning to go hunting with my dad and enjoy the great outdoors while carrying a firearm :) The deer are thankful for the turkey that has pulled me out of the woods and towards the dinner table ;) The turkey ain't so lucky. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Eat, sleep, then eat some more :)
