  1. Lots of inexperienced and foolish peeps out there doing dumb stuff, and I'm not just talking about guns. Every time I go into public, I see AT LEAST one person that makes me scratch my head and say "whaaat?" Lol. I'm not concerned about someone taking an OCer's gun out of the holster. If a BG wants a gun, there are lots of ways for that to happen. I just manage my gun and let others carry as they see fit. Unless someone's about to drop a gun off their belt without knowing it, I'm not going to say anything. I never use a full retention holster unless I'm in the woods or something and have a high level of activity. For my EDC, they're all open top holsters. I cc almost always unless I'm going to/from the woods
  2. That's terrible. I hate to hear this.
  3. Minnows... being eaten is a fitting punishment for those winged blood suckers.
  4. I think if he accepted the deal and took your gun home, you are not responsible for legally warranting the gun. Did you complete any type of bill of sale? I think (IANAL either) it's done unless you know the guy and just want to keep the peace. Possible that it's not broken but maybe he just doesn't know how to use it. It's also possible that it broke on him right after he got it... could happen. Either way, I don't think you are legally responsible. Or ask him why he would want a broken shotgun back, j/k
  5. Peejman, I searched and found the mosquito dunks on Lowes website. I didn't know the existed. I'll get a pack of those for sure
  6. Screen is a good idea. I'll add that to my list
  7. I carry factory in my EDCs. I wouldn't want to open myself up to more scrutiny if I ever did have to use a hand load. I really don't think it would be a problem, but the added hassle/stress of maybe having to duplicate a round or prove data is not worth it to me. That being said, I carry hand loads in my 44 when I'm in the deer woods. If I get a chance to use it instead of my rifle, I want my own recipe.
  8. Thanks, I'll get the blue or paint dark.    What's a mosquito dunk? I definitely want to get rid of the skeeters! Those pests must think I'm candy or something because they will feed on me like piranhas.
  9. He pushed it so hard, I thought maybe he was trying to sell a book or something on minimalistic living. I checked out a couple of his links briefly just to see if that was the case. Turns out, there wasn't enough info, and I put forth a minimum amount of effort so didn't find anything ;)
  10. Yeah, I got a kick out of some of his posts, and he seemed knowledgable in some areas. It seemed like he was starting to troll threads but tolerable. I saw at least one of the two final posts, and he just didn't leave you any room. He had to know he would get the boot for what he said. Strange
  11. Hey, I like that. I have some 2 year old apple trees near a couple of my stands. They could certainly benefit from it too. Win-win. A roof collection system sounds like the most efficient way to go. Using this formula: HARVESTED H2O (gal) = CATCHMENT AREA (sqft) x RAINFALL DEPTH (in) x 0.623 conversion factor means that a 4'x8' collection roof would give me about 20gal of water with 1" of rainfall. I'm gonna give it a try
  12. I'm in for one! I missed out on the first buy, so I don't want to kick myself twice. Awesome knife
  13. We're praying for you
  14. Wow, another cool knife. I like it!
  15.   Yeah, I bet he felt bloated. A light dinner...
  16. Yeah, I just have to come up with a better one this time around. Shouldn't be too hard, lol Lol, no more fictional characters in tights. My son was really into batman stuff when I first signed up, so it seemed logical.
  17. Hey, that's an excellent job you did there. Looks great!
  18. LOL. Your're incognito  . I've seen one or two other members do that too. I actually want to change mine
  19. I have the OCEARCH Global Shark Tracker App on my Android, lol. Amazing how close those buggers come to the beach sometimes
  20. Sweet! I love shark week. They facinate me for some reason, lol
  21.   Thanks. Food items that didn't grow there are a no-no. Water is technically not food, so....     Maybe I could just sit 250yds away from it if I'm still in doubt
  22. That's what I'm thinking. I know the deer have to leave the property to get water, and I'm sure that I would see more action if they didn't have to do that.   I doubt rainwater collection could be considered baiting because it falls from the sky, but if I drag a tank of H2O on a trailer in there.... I dunno?
  23. Ok, I hunt on almost 300 acres. It's 300acres of all trees and no water :( The deer hunting can be great, but not predictable. I/they NEED a water source on the property. I cant dig a pond or I would. Would a water trough / rainwater collection system be considered baiting? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwxiTBn7moM Some examples I found on the Net:
  24. Old thread, new season.   I had something come up to divert my time this summer, but I'll be planting soon. What works in less than full sun that can be planted in August? I've always done clover in the fall. I tried buckwheat back in the spring, but it turns out that buckwheat seeds are a turkey magnet. I had dozens of turkeys until the seeds were gone, then they left just before turkey season opened :(   I might try buckweat + clover again, but I have less than full sun. WIll turnips grow in partial shade? Cowpeas? I'm assuming sunflowers need full sun :)
