  1. Huh, someone gave a progressive the finger
  2. This is probably what I'd do. Just use the $250 to open an account and direct deposit a fixed amount each month. That way you will see it grow, and it will be worth something in 20yrs (assuming the dollar still exists then). Gold, silver or guns are good suggestions, too
  3. I'm not sure why I didn't know this change occurred but good to know.
  4. I've shot from inside a shooting house while hunting and never remembered the noise, so I think adrenaline plays a role. I'd like to suppress my HD guns though
  5. Sweet setup, and great info. Nice rifle! I really enjoy shooting BP... cleanup is not as enjoyable though. I have a percussion .50 and an inline 50. I'd love to get a flintlock someday
  6. I gotta find out how to lock!
  7. My 12yo son usually brings me up to speed on technology these days. They know it all
  8. Video classifieds? I don't know how the logistics of that would work though. Maybe some of the offerings from vendors? I also like the idea of how-to's. Also TN specific information (gun show info, state laws, ranges, HCP info, etc) would be great
  9. True. The irony is that if he was the same guy carrying without a legal permit, then the race baiters would be screaming.
  10. Hopefully you'll get them to program. My dad has the same radio as me, and he couldn't get his to communicate with Chirp. He tried my cable and it worked, so it was his cable causing problems... Just a thought.
  11. It actually did more cosmetic damage to my truck than the tongue. Luckily it was my old huntin' truck, so it just added character :)
  12. It actually raised one side higher than the other. The "A" shape is intact if you were to look straight down, just looks like someone grabbed it and twisted. Bottle jack is a good idea though. I might be able to brace it and use that somehow.
  13. I have a 5x10 tilt, and the "A" frame tongue is bent where I jack-knifed it backing up (forgot it was there... can't see it in my truck... lucky didn't hit anything else :nervous: ). Now I just have to figure out how to straighten it or find someone who can
  14. I don't think mine even came with any instructions at all about programming, but CHIRP software works great for mine. http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Home This cable works for me to program it http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQZE5IA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  15. I definitely need to start using mine more and learning it's capabilities.
  16. Nice looking trailer. Yeah, that chain was a huge upgrade. I like those tie down rings you added... I need to do that with mine
  17. Wow, that's awesome!
  18. Congrats! That's definitely something that can make life hard when the trailer lights don't work right. I was driving back from Arkansas duck hunting a couple of years ago when it was FREEZING cold and my trailer lights kept going out on me. I could not keep them running. I was tired and my fingers were just too cold to mess with rewriting a trailer. I stopped at a gas station, bought 2 small keychain flashlights, turned them on and put them behind the lenses of the trailer lights  It was total redneck, but it got me home with tail lights. That looks like a nice set you got at TSC
  19. I have my Tech license. I haven't used it much at all but want to learn more. I just have a hand held Baofeng, but it's been good for what it is. I'd like to get a good mobil setup in my truck and base station at home. I built a Jpole antenna for the attic but haven't tried it out yet.
  20. That's awesome to make your own bow and take game with it!
  21. I like hunting with different calibers. I'll use my bow, 44mag handgun, 243, 30-30 lever, 30-06 or 300H&H mag. I'd like to own a win70 338wm someday for an Alaskan trip, but I would not feel bad shooting a TN deer with it. Dead is dead, and they all just punch a hole through the lungs if the shot is good. I really prefer my bow, but I enjoy exercising the mags every once in a while. That said, I've killed the most deer with my 50cal muzzleloader. I agree, I have no desire to use a budget rifle with low-end scope in a hot caliber though.
  22. I've had a Vortex Sparc on my 3gun AR for about 3 years. I use it quite a bit, and I'm on my second battery. The 1x dot is plenty bright enough and clear. It co-witnesses with my back up iron sights. It's all I need. I think I paid $199
  23. I have a 19 gen2 and a 17 gen1. I love them both. Just was hoping for a G42 in 9mm for times when the 19 is too much. Oh well. I'll keep buying them though
  24. Good news is now I can move on with my life and go ahead and buy a PM9 or maybe P938. I've been waiting to see what Glock would come out with, too. I wait no more. Of course, I still want a G20 or maybe a G40 now ;)
  25. I'm also fascinated with them. I have a couple 44's and a 22. I carry one often when I'm in the woods... usually a SBH in 44mag with the 4-5/8" bbl. With the holster and belt setup I use, I can carry it all day without really even knowing it's there. Very comfy. I like powerful medicine when I'm in the woods :) I'm really itching for a SAA (or clone) in 45LC
