  1. Ok, I'll run some rounds through it first. Here's the barrel http://www.redbarnarmory.com/Radical-Firearms-300-Blackout-Barrel-p/rf300brlqpq.htm
  2. Thanks for the great information! That helps me. I was never interested in a AR pistol or a 300 Blackout until just recently. Now I can't wait to build it. I am really looking forward to it and getting my first can, too. I'll check and open up the gas port like you said when I get it.
  3. I'm finally starting my pistol build. I'm looking at a Radical Firearms 8.5" 300BO barrel from Redbarnarmory.com for $99 shipped. I've heard some CS complaints about Radical Firearms, but how are the barrels? They also have a low profile, adjustable gas block for $19. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, but my goal with this one is an inexpensive yet reliable gun that will run with a suppressor. I don't need match grade performance but want it decent. I already have most of the parts left over from other projects.
  4. I'm trying to get educated to build my first pistol and found this thread with the search. Most of my questions have already been answered, but what about buffer tubes? I seem to remember reading in the past that it is fine to use a standard tube that can accept a stock as long as one is not installed and the conditions of post #5 are met, or is a "pistol" buffer tube required?   In other words, can the pic in post #12 still be considered a pistol with that buffer tube without the stock? I think I know the answer but want to be certain.       I plan to build a 8.5" bbl, 300BO. May or may not do the SigBrace... haven't decided yet. It will eventually be suppressed.
  5. Haha. Those are great
  6. You can just load them manually without a press for this. You could prime with a simple hand primer. Need a scale too...
  7. Good deal. I recently received my PST 1-4x24. I haven't taken it to the range yet, but it seems like a good quality optic on top of my AR
  8. I continue to carry whatever/however I put on that morning. Usually a PF9 IWB, G19 IWB or P3AT/P238 in a belly band. When I come home, I may put on more comfortable clothes, but I'll just carry whatever gun/holster I had been carrying all day. When It's time for bed, I'll put my carry gun in the safe and have my usual bedside weapons (G17, 870) available.   I'm always armed at home
  9. Nice!   I've been considering a PM9, P938 or Solo to replace my PF9 for this summer. I really like the way that Kimber feels but was a little concerned about it being too finicky. Glad to hear yours runs so well. Now that it's warming up, I need to start looking at these small 9's again.   The Solo feels slimmer than the PM9 to me, but I think they measure about the same, right?
  10. Yes, of course. Very important detail, thanks ;)
  11. Only if the business is located or has a store in TN
  12. I have an electrostatic mat. I also try to touch something else before I handle powder to dissapate any charge
  13. Great deal. I stopped by my local Wally's, and as usual... Hardly any ammo on the shelf :( ZERO 9mm
  14. Wow, that's nice!
  15. Got mine today. Thanks Willis! What a sweet little knife! Been carrying it ever since I got the mail.
  16. Nice! I chose a spam can from aimsurplus. http://www.aimsurplus.com/catalog.aspx?groupid=40&name=7.62x54R
  17. Nice. I'll email my senator to let him know of my support, but I know he already supports it (Mike Bell :) ). I'll email/call others too
  18. Wow, glad he's doing better. I'll keep him in prayers
  19. What's the difference between active diarrhea and in-active diarrhea?
  20. Looks great! I still need to build mine
  21. I'm looking forward to getting it. Mine will see some 3gun action, too. Should be delivered tomorrow. Did you put Butler Creek covers on it or something else?
  22. I have friends that called me to tell me that Obama was banning ALL 223/5.56 by executive order. I tried to educate them about the BATFE M855 proposal, but they were adamant that it was different. A lot of people are freaking over misinformation and rumor. Crazy
  23. And for the record, Teflon does not give any sort of armor piercing capability either. It helps eggs not stick as bad to a fry pan, though :)
