Personally, I'd leave it. Wear (especially S&W revolvers) just adds character IMO. Nice carry gun

I like Trump's attack on political correctness and his willingness to speak his mind. It is refreshing to hear someone speak directly for once. He is just playing a game by refusing to promise he won't run as a third party. By holding on to the threat of a third party candidate, he forces the GOP system to take him seriously. Also, fence-sitting primary voters may vote for him out of fear he will run as a 3rd. I think it's a smart move on his part, actually. With that said, he concerns me because who knows if/when he'll go back to being a democrat  He donated money to Hillary and other dems, used to support gun control, used to support abortion, used to support other liberal ideas, but now he's a conservative? I like what he says NOW, but his history bothers me. Huckabee is a known quantity IMO. I've been listening to him for years. I feel like I know where he stands, and I like it. I liked what he had to say tonight, but I'm concerned about his ability to win. I'd pick him or Cruz so far. Rubio would also be a good pick. I want to see more of Dr Carson! ETA: Any of the those on stage tonight would be infinitely better than what we've had to stomach for the last 6 years. I just hope we don't end up with Christie as the nominee

Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)

Maybe most of the CA zombies are vegetarians, and all they want is some tofu -
I really like SLR Rifleworks. They offer a 14" and 15" in kemod and M-Loc. I have their 9" Solo M-Loc on my AR pistol. Awesome handguard. I plan to buy another for my next build. http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=66_106 I have a low profile adjustable gas block under mine, but they are slim

A chainsaw is great to clear downed trees over roads if you're bugging out with a vehicle. Obviously, it won't fit in your bag though. This is what I keep in my bag, and it fits great http://www.amazon.com/Sportsman-Chainsaw-Carrying-Professional-Survival/dp/B00GMR0MZS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438431132&sr=8-1&keywords=Hand+chainsaw

My mom recently had both eyes done. She is so happy. There were no problems and took about 15mins. The first eye was 20/20 the next day. There was a 3day "recovery" period where she had to take it easy. The second eye was done a few weeks later and had some stinging for a day and was crystal clear by second day. She is still amazed at how much better she can see now

Wow, I forgot how fast Midway can be. I just got home from vacation, and the kit was already on my front porch! I looked at the big pieces real quick, and I am liking it. All numbers match. The wood is nice. The finish on the metal shows some wear, but honestly I'd be disappointed if a surplus rifle didn't show some wear. I want to build it with rivets. I've made several gun purchases recently and a vacation, so I'm going to have to wait a little bit for the barrel and receiver. I was actually in the middle of an AR build when I impulse bought this AK kit, so now I've got 2 irons in the fire :) I'll build the AK first because I don't have one, and this kit looks cool

I just looked up their site. They have some good stuff

This is the perfect excuse... I mean reason to get a shop press :)

Thanks for the info. Looks like the NDS-1P receiver for $115 http://www.nodakspud.com/AK%20Receivers.htm

Actually it's my first AK. This was sort of an impulse buy, and I hope I'm not in over my head. I also hope it will be decent when I'm done. I know this is a different animal than an AR build, but I'm looking forward to learning. I'll need a barrel, a receiver, some tools and a ton of advice :) Here's the kit... http://www.midwayusa.com/product/909439/military-surplus-ak-47-polish-under-folding-stock-parts-kit-762x39mm

Gun shop owner declares store Muslim-free zone
Wingshooter replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
It's "the radical side of their religion" that presents the danger. The Muslims who just want to go about their lives (most of them) are not being true Muslims according to the Koran. It is written in their holy book to kill us. At what point does a "safe" Muslim start to become more aligned with the Koran and become a threat? There's no way to know. The Chattanooga shooter was considered a Muslim that just wanted to go about his life until he became "radicalized" (aka, a Muslim following the teachings of the Koran). So, according to the teachings of his holy book, he became a "better" Muslim. I believe in the freedom of religion, and thank God for it. However, the radical (true) side of Islam is a real threat to us all. -
I heard they did the same thing in FL. I thought the intent was to put the recruiters in an in environment where the state could allow them to go armed since the Feds won't. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/89470-mississippi-governor-arms-national-guard/

I have a P3AT and a P238. Both are reliable, easy to carry and surprisingly accurate. The P3AT was not reliable at first, and I had to do some serious "fluff and buff" to get it to function. It has been 100% reliable for several hundred rounds since then, but I still have a trust issue with it. The Sig is fun to shoot, but does not disappear as easily as the the smaller P3AT. the P3at is not fun to shoot, but it is the right size/weight for a true pocket carry imo. The LCP is a nicer version of the P3AT, and I think I would enjoy it more. The Kahr CW380 or P380 is a very nice option, too. I will probably upgrade from my P3AT to an LCP or Kahr 380 at some point.

Cutting a Plastic/Synthetic Stock
Wingshooter replied to shotgunshooter's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Go slow. Take your time and double check that the line you want to cut is at the proper angle. Use a sharp, fine tooth saw blade designed for cutting plastic, metal, and finished cuts. Put masking / painters tape on the stock where you want to cut and cut through it. Here is the grind-to-fit pad I used. There is a good video explaining how to shape the pad https://kickeezproducts.com/installation/ Although, I did mine differently :) I put the pad on the stock first, then did the grinding -
Cutting a Plastic/Synthetic Stock
Wingshooter replied to shotgunshooter's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I used a grindable kick-Ezze pad. After the stock was cut, I installed the pad (bigger than than it needs to be). I put green painters tape on the stock next to the pad. Then I put blue tape over the green tape. Next, I sanded the pad with a belt sander until I saw green tape again on the stock. Before grinding the pad: After grinding the pad: I also install a Cheek-Ezze pad. The changes made a huge improvement in felt recoil for me. -
Cutting a Plastic/Synthetic Stock
Wingshooter replied to shotgunshooter's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I cut the plastic stock on my stoeger m3000 with no issues. I bought a fine tooth blade for my electric compound miter saw. I spent some time carefully marking the angle and how much I wanted to take off. I placed blue tape on the section I wanted to keep with the edge of the tape along the line. Then I put wider masking tape over it but I could still see the line. I put it on the saw and cut it through the tape. No splinters or melting. It worked great. Then I installed a kick-Ezze pad. I'll post some pics in a minute... -
Well, now I'm curious..... Edit: couldn't resist. I looked it up, lol

For me it would depend on what I wanted it for. For a carry gun... G36. For a range, nightstand, tinkering, or just like the way it feels gun... 1911. As far as parts and holding up... hard to beat a Glock on that, but there are no shortage of parts for a 1911 either. You also have a polymer frame gun vs a steel frame. My Glocks have required very little maintenance

Gun shop owner declares store Muslim-free zone
Wingshooter replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
The way things have been going recently, it wouldn't surprise me. I think a business should be able to do what they want, and I don't agree with the SCOTUS decision -

If you own a bakery, you have to bake wedding cakes for gays even if it is against your religious beliefs so says the SCOTUS -
I saw that video too. He's probably lucky he got arrested with the path he was going down. Otherwise, I think he was scheduled for a whoopin'
