  1. I got Day of Wrath in the mail today, and I've already read half of it. Wow! After this post, I'm off to finish Chapter 5...
  2. On the subject of water... For emergency water when other sources are gone, you can also build a condensation trap by digging a hole. Place a can or bucket in bottom of the hole. Then stretch a piece of plastic over the hole and secure the edges to form a "lid" over the hole. Next, place a small rock or something on the center of the plastic above the bucket to create a low spot. As the sun heats up, condensation will form on the underside of the plastic and drip into the bucket. It'd be a slow process, but would keep a person hydrated without any other source of water.
  3. That's what we do too. What happens in her bathroom, stays in her bathroom. What happens in mine, stays in mine. Lol. It's worked great for us for many years. Although, I always put the seat and lid down on any toilet I use anyway. just habbit
  4. Gas. I parked my truck in the driveway near empty, and I have depleted my backup supply this summer. My first plan of action is to stay put, but I'd be lacking fuel if i had to execute plan B or run the generator at this exact moment.
  5. My cousin and I did that to my grandparents once when we were kids and visiting for Christmas. I still feel bad about it. It wasnt pretty but certainly effective. Yeah, we got in trouble  Pranksters we were
  6. Thanks. I just ordered it
  7. I just ordered Day of Wrath. Sounds like a good read.
  8. That's cool you got a pic of him laying down! If they're like the deer on my land though, they have opening day marked on their calendars so they can disappear  It looks like they're hitting that stump pretty hard. What do you use?
  9. I'm not leaving. If I had to leave the USA though, I guess Califorinia would be the closest place to go.
  10. Same here. I want one too Only 1000 or not, I'd have to shoot it though!
  11. Really cool. I love stuff like that. Looks really functional, too.
  12. I had my favorite pair of Oakley sunglasses fitted with prescription, tinted safety lenses.
  13. The Kahr CW9, CW45 and CM9 are more options in that price range. You already have a G19, so probably no reason to get a CW9. The CW45 is a nice shooting 45, though. I have one and like it. I've read (haven't tried it yet) that it will accept standard 1911 magazines. The CM9 is a little smaller than the Shield if you're looking for a deep concealment gun. CW45 http://www.gunbuyer.com/p-2557-kahr-cw4543-cw45-45acp-7rd-poly.aspx CM9 http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/kahr-cm9.html CW40 http://www.pistolandpawn.com/wp/product/kahr-arms-cw40/ Since you're in Chatt, I'd pay a visit to GT Distributors in Rossville if you haven't already. They usually have a glass case full of used guns in your price range.
  14. Gen2 G19 = my favorite model/gen Glock  Funny thing is my wife was getting WAY too cozy with mine, so I got her a G43 to keep her from laying claims on it. She loves the 43 now :) Nice collection you have going there.
  15. I'd go for a revolver and/or a .22 S&W model 10, used S&W J-frame, Ruger Mark III or other 22. Edit: I just read your last post above. I think Shield is the answer
  16. It's funny how all the TRUE racists are self-identified. They're the ones going around proclaiming that everything is racist. It's like the old saying back when I was a kid... whoever smelt it must have dealt it. :) The same applies to this guy. ETA: That flag is a symbol of honor and courage for a select group of Americans that deserve it. The guy that wrote the article is a weasel looking to stir up controversy for his own agenda. He's following on the heels of the Confederate flag stupidity and probably hasn't had an original idea in his life. Weak-minded wannabe if you ask me
  17. Welcome!
  18. Wow, very nice!
  19.
  20. Thanks, I'll check them out. I still haven't bought the receiver or barrel.
  21. Yes! That definitely helped my mood. I need to get my cams back out... maybe later this week. I've been shooting my bow a lot more recently, so I'm getting the itch. Nice pics!
  22. Some chickens' sole purpose in life is to pop out eggs... these must be the chickens that were culled. Other chickens exist just to be eaten, and maybe these birds are not as affected.
  23. If I was the rider, I guess the cop would have pulled me off the bike trying to get my gun out of my full retention Safariland ALS holster. Unless of course he knew where the thumb release button was. Not a cool move IMO. I just pray I never get pulled over on my way to/from a 3gun match... "Sir, just how many guns and bullets do you have in your car?"
  24. There's a surplus of dead chickens available for sale now that they have culled so many? :)
