  1. I don't see any democrats running. During the first democrat debate, the candidates were asked to state how they saw themselves politically (or something like that). Sanders claimed to be Socialist and hillary said she is a progressive. It really baffles me how some people think that either of the two leading "democrat" candidates would be a good choice for america. It would be like voting to continue the train wreck that has been the last 7 years. I really wonder if those that still complain about Bush have been paying attention recently beacuse obama makes bush look like a saint IMO.
  2. Haha. It's just a matter of time now before that video shows up on TV with the woman claiming to have seen the Ohio Grassman in TN. Probably be on Mountain Monsters or whatever that show is, lol.
  3. I would imagine handloading .45 for the colts, ubertis and cimmarons is a lot of fun. Especially with hard cast bullets
  4. Leroy, Thanks. That's great info! Helps a lot. I'll keep an eye on Cherry's and give them a call
  5. Thanks for pointing me to Cherry's. I was looking over their inventory, and I'll keep them in mind when I'm ready to get the real thing. It wouldn't be the first time I spent $1200 on a gun, and I think a Colt SAA would definately be worth it. I plan to get one some day. I need to edjucate myself more on the variations of the different generations.
  6. Nice! That was my thought originally. I want to shoot it though, but if I spend $1600+ on a collectable I might not take it out of the safe too often. I thought I would pick up a nice clone and just enjoy shooting it. Then still keep my eyes open for a good deal on the "real thing". Do the new Colt SAAs have different internals or transfer bar safety? I didn't know they were modernized. I'd love to have a Gen2  Nice!
  7. Thanks leroy. The cosmetic case coloring doesn't bother me too much. Do the Cimmarons have the same feel and balance as the colts (well, as close as can be expected)? Thanks
  8. The weird get weirder on halloween. Not the image you expect to have burned in your mind when you leave Hooters, though.
  9. I love single-action revolvers. I would love to have a genuine Colt 1873 SAA, but they too 'spensive for a safe queen. I'll just go with a clone to start, so I can enjoy and shoot it. I've been looking at the Uberti 1873 Cattleman and Cimmeron. What do ya recommend for a good clone? I'm interested in detail to the original Colt SAA, smooth action, and durability after I put a bunch of rounds through it. I'm thinking .45 Suggestions? Bonus points for pictures :)
  10. here's an option if something cheaper/easier doesn't fix it. Pricey but easy. I know I've seen them in HomeDepot for less than that. Maybe it was a sale  http://www.homedepot.com/p/Adjust-A-Gate-2-Rail-Gate-Frame-Kit-AG60-36/202024403?cm_mmc=SEM%7CTHD%7CG%7C0%7CG-Pro-PLA-D21-Lumber%7C&gclid=CLexhdP05sgCFdcSgQodhI0Ecg&gclsrc=aw.ds
  11. Hmmm. That's a good question.... and one I probably should have thought of before. Of course I've never taken my un-tagged trailer into GA multiple times... not this week anyway. Oops. :hiding: :leaving: Do you need a trailer tag in GA?
  12. I'm glad you BTT this thread. I've been meaning to order some. Last week I got pretty irritated with my plastic EPA can and yanked the CARB spout right off of it  The funny thing is I accidently "fixed" it because the spring fell out. It put the spout back on, and now it is unrestricted  I just need to add a vent. I'm going to order some Jerry cans for sure though.
  13. Some good archery shootin' in this one http://youtu.be/eCtb_ylVDvU
  14. I thought this was pretty cool. I've been trying to learn to work with metal and weld (if you can call it that :( ) in my spare time. I might have to try this sometime. http://youtu.be/KDU3-y8tFEA
  15. Can you handle the "raspberry"? Ruger LC9 $279 + $14.95 s/h http://www.slickguns.com/product/ruger-lc9-9mm-raspberry-frame-29999-1474-sh And in black... http://www.slickguns.com/product/ruger-lc9-9mm-29999-1474-sh
  16. Fishing... http://youtu.be/s_a7AZbJGNM
  17. Yeah, I've been that guy before too :)
  18. This one's about hunting. Hilarious. http://youtu.be/M9gFRXw5-kI
  19. 9mm will be cheaper to shoot than 380, and a variety of ammo will be easier to find. My wife and I both have a small 380, but they ONLY get carried IF I can't carry something else larger. Most of the time I carry a small single stack 9mm (glock 43 in my case). If your wife really likes the Ruger but the LCP feels too small, Ruger also makes the LC9 and LC9s. The LC9s is striker fired and I heard it has a good trigger. Don't forget to take a look at the Shield if you haven't already. As far as both of you needing to get the same caliber... I think that's a good idea because you can buy cheaper in bulk and will always have ammo for both. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me though. As far as both of you needing to get the same manufacturer of firearm... I don't think it really matters. It's more important to get what feels good in your hand and you can shoot/carry well. Of course if you both have the same or similar operating guns, you will both have the benefit of being familiar with the operation of each other's guns, but you wouldn't have to stay with the same manf to acheive that.
  20. There's a lot of good 380s and small 9s out there now. I generally search youtube for Hickok45 videos for comparisons and good reviews. He has some good ones on the Ruger LC9s and LCP, Kahr PM9 and CW 380, Glock43 and glock42, and many more. Probably the Walthers too. Of course finding a place to rent or try them out is a great idea. Good luck. Have fun.
  21. Vetoed :( Why can't we veto his stupidity? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/10/22/obama-vetoes-612-billion-defense-policy-bill-in-rebuke-to-congressional/
  22. OS, what holster is that? I like it. I've been looking for one for my G43. Recently I've re-discovered and been using a belly band style holster (lol) or UnderTech holster shorts if I'm wearing dress pants with a tucked shirt. Actually works very well, but I would like to give pocket carry a try.
