I'm planning an elk hunt in CO next oct/nov with some family members. There'll be 4 of us. We have access to a cabin in GMU #4. We also have an outfitters tent + necessary camping equipment if we decide to hunt a different part of the state. Does anyone head out there? We planned this trip 2 years ago on short notice and couldn't go due to a family medical emergency. All is well now, and we are itching to go. Too bad we have to wait a year, but it will be good to get in shape and allow enough prep time. I have an '06. I'll probably use it for backup and spring for a new heavier hitter for the primary rifle. Just curious who goes/has been out there? Should I look towards the NW part of the state where we have a cabin available or the SW part of the state where I have also heard good things or...? Hoping for a little advice. Thanks

Oh no no no!!! :panic: Cabelas is probably my favorite store. I even have the credit card... I earn the points! No no no. I was in there today holding a Winchester 70 Extreme Weather and checkining out some camping gear for a CO elk hunt next October.

I Googled "big wolf hunt" and selected images. The size looks about right for a big one

Whoa! That's a huge wolf.

My cherry and redbud trees do great in full, all-day sun.

We have flowering cherrys and redbuds in our front yard. Nice color in the spring/summer

is it a good or bad idea to let a 14 year old visit her mom in jail?
Wingshooter replied to 3600's topic in General Chat
Sounds familiar. Here are 3600's responses to the PM he(it) started with me... ----------------------- Thanks for answering Main problem I have is she will see her mom in a jail jumpsuit and other inmates and even guards that could be intimidating . Is that ok for a 14 year old to see? Seeing Women behind bars basically? --------------------- My daughter does but seem nervous at all. In fact she seems a little excited My daughter made some jokey comments as I mentioned in my previous question ----------------------------------- She said she would like to go I hear my daughter can learn a lot from a visit. What do you think are the main things age can learn? How jails and law enforcement works ? --------------------- My daughter definitely wants to ask her mom questions about what it is like . Do you think that is a good idea and good for my wife to be open? -
Winchester 94 Front Sight Dovetail

Is that the same with different types of ammo? Can you cut the notch a little deeper on the rear sight and just pull a real tight bead with it? -
Winchester 94 Front Sight Dovetail
Wingshooter replied to Clutch80's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have not run into that particular issue, but I have bought a lot of model94 parts from Midwest Gun Works. http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/winchester-gun-parts I believe they have gunsmiths that specialize in the 94, so it might not hurt to give them a call. And https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufacturers/Rifles-42602/94Series-40353/94Pre64-34346.htm Is it possible that the rear sight and elevator are not correct for that gun? I ask that because I actually had a pre64 where that was the case. The rear sight was not an actual Win94 part, so I ordered the correct pieces. -
They're playing games with me again! lol. I went out pretty late this afternoon. I parked my truck by the barn and walked about 3/4 of the way up a large wooded hill on our land. I just sat down at the base of some trees and watched a well used trail. At the end of legal shooting light, I stood up and quietly walked back down the hill. As I reached the bottom, was still enough light for me to see the 2 fat does feeding just 30yds in front of my truck. I guess I could have just sat in the tuck lol They're playin' with me I tell ya  If was past legal shooting time and not a safe shot angle with the road anyway, so they won this round.

Still raining here. I might do something else today and hit the woods on another day. I generally enjoy hunting in the rain, but I'm just not feelin' it today

Rainy here this morning. I had my rain gear, inline ML and everything ready, but I slept in instead. Oops. Going out this afternoon. Rain has slacked off at least

I've been watching more of these guys' videos. WOW. One of their videos is with a news reporter that was questioning if it is all real or not. It's real. They may have to take the shot 200 times to get it (probably why they get so excited when they do). Here's a couple.... http://youtu.be/Nm1eHE5domI http://youtu.be/A5340xbbQJU http://youtu.be/Fkfz2bJh6Kw

Your secret's safe. Been there a few times too, lol. Those shots make me feel like I'm slackin' during my practice. Amazing stuff Me too  reminds me of a bobcat I know, lol.

I wonder if he tried to catch it. Seems really odd (impossible) it would fire from just hitting the floor -

I'm kind of diggin' this one for an intro to the world of SAA clones I want one to plink around with handloads on the farm. Then I'll get a "real colt" at some point. I already have a couple of "work horse" ruger SBHs, so the clone will be for fun :)

I din't get to take my kids over the weekend, but they'll be in the woods with me at some point this season.
