  1. I have a few Vortex varieties. I just got the vortex Spitfire 1X, and I really like it. It's very solid and clear. It has a red/green circle dot with absolute cowitness. Prices run about $300 right now. I can't say if it's an eotech replacement for you, but it does all I need in an easy 1 power. I haven't had it long enough to get a battery life estimate yet.
  2. Interesting thread. I have several of them on my land. I always wondered how much they are worth. I hope you get top dollar!
  3. For my bolt rifles, I trickle into a beam scale. Otherwise I throw the charge and check every few with the beam and/or a small electric.
  4. From those choices, I'd choose the G27. It's small enough to carry comfortably (for me anyway), concalable with most clothing, uber reliable, plenty of upgrade parts (night sights, trigger, etc.), shoots nice and can carry a G22 mag as a spare.
  5. We get the AT&T guys too. When they first started Uverse in our area, the SAME 3 guys came to my door 3 times in one month. The first time I said no and sent them on their way. The second time I think I treated them like they were crazy because I had already sent them away once. The third time I showed my ugly side. They haven't come back :) If I want ATT, I know where to find it. I don't need someone creeping up to my door. The girl scouts might cry too easily though, so I just buy some thinmints and tagalongs ;) I have the coonhound inside now, so he acts like he wants to run anyone knocking on the door up a tree, lol. A couple of salespeople have just turned and walked away recently when they hear what sounds like Kujo on the other side of the door.
  6. They split mine up too. I should get the first one thursday
  7. My xtremes shipped yesterday
  8. I don't think they can. Really all it would do is turn a few good unsuspecting people into criminals at random occurrences. It really is a joke just to give the Great DC Windbag a opportunity to claim he did something I think.
  9. I agree in the short term, but the progressives play a long term game. One of the problems I see with it is the de facto gun registration it creates in the years to come. As generations die off, every gun will be tied to a person via gov paperwork with no way to transfer without more paperwork (assuming this gets written in the worst case)
  10. Well, I went ahead and sold all my guns...
  11. Awesome! PM sent
  12. Thanks. just need to find a receiver now
  13. I'm not sure. It's my first order. I just hope it gets delivered on a day when I can intercept it before the wife :nervous:
  14.    My order date was 12/02. It's still showing "Processing". I hope they dig out soon.
  15. Childers or NoDak receiver? Neither are in stock, and both will be 2-3 months looks like. Childers has the option of drilling the front trunion holes. Should I let them do it, or is it better to custom drill with the trunion? http://www.childersguns.com/CG1-Polish-AKM-47-Receiver This one is availabe from Atlantic. Is it good, or should I hold out for a NoDak or Childers? https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-accessories/ak47-receiver-underfolder-7-62x39mm-2543-detail.html?Itemid=0
  16. I can shoulder the buffer tube, but I still prefer a rifle stock too if given the choice.
  17. The biggest problem with my AR pistol is that it's built with the TGO billet set, and I'd prefer a beater for a truck gun. It's an accurate and reliable shooter though. Here's my pistol in 8.5" 300BO. (Just needs a different grip) Almost fits in a small backpack. Fits great in a racquet case.
  18. That's a pretty cool fold up, JohnC!
  19. I feel the same way. I like having a real rifle in my truck. For years I had a socked win94 under the seat. I've recently moved to an AR. If I could find a receiver in stock to put my AK underfolder together, I might assign it to the backseat. That should be easy to carry in/out without having to take it apart.
  20. Nice. I'll have to start shopping around. As an immediate alternative until I get a proper case, I suppose I could just take the lower half in/out in a regular backpack. A thief wouldn't be able to do much damage with just an upper.
  21. I'm too uneasy to leave it out on purpose because I don't want it to be used against me or neighbors. I just need to find a way to move it in/out without broadcasting it to the neighborhood because it's a pain. Maybe start using my AR pistol like OS or just get a takedown case
  22. I have an AR most times in my truck. I'm not too concerned about it being stolen. However, I am uneasy leaving it out in the driveway in my truck all night because I don't want to provide such a weapon to a would-be invader of my home. I lock my truck doors and have it hidden well, but trucks are easily broken in to. Do most of you leave it out all night or bring it inside?
  23. That works too! Happened to me twice :)
  24. Santa strike
