Yes, time is a fast sprinter. Too fast! My knees don't like it when I run. Thank God for the wheel, lol

My grandfather always said he had furniture disease because his chest had fallen into his drawers. Lol. He also said be careful because it runs in the family... he wasn't kidding. I'm not overweight, but I can tell I'm getting older and need to get in better shape. I used to hit the gym all the time until about 8 years ago. It's time to start back! Cardio will be my biggest goal with some light strength training mixed in. I travel for work, so that can make exercise more of a challenge. I'll ride the recumbent or bike. I don't run unless something is chasing me :)

I'd rather have Cruz as well. I voted for him yesterday.
-
That's true, but the Rubio camp needs Cruz to drop out now for him to win over trump. I don't see either one of the top three going anywhere anytime soon. I wonder if kasich and carson still think they even have a fraction of a shot

Sounds like a good excuse to get a crossbow ;) Never let a good excuse go to waste :)

I was torn between cruz and rubio today. I voted cruz because I think he's a conservative that stands the highest chance of sticking up for the constitution. Rubio would have been my next choice, and I almost voted for him because he polls better against the democrats. If that continues, then I hope he wins for that alone. I get the feeling that those ready to get behind trump have already done so. However, if trump wins the nomination, then I will vote for him in the general. I overheard more people today in line declaring they wanted to vote democrat than I did republican. This is very unusual for where I live. I hope it's just a cross over to have a chance to vote against hillary twice and not the new influx of northeasterners that I have been encountering more and more. I thought about doing the same thing myself and kind of wished I had. @Musicman: "taking a Trump..."
-
An independant run is very concerning. Bill had his Perot, and hillary may have her Trump. After all, trump has donated money to hillary in the past. Maybe the clintons have learned how to win elections with billionaires... I pushed the button for Cruz this morning. I'm pulling for him.

Beat with a toilet seat... that stinks. Glad the officer wasn't shot, and it's sad to think that a kid ends up that way.

It is very sensless and horrific for those affected. The politcal spin from our "leaders" will soon follow. I used to travel to Kalamazoo, Lansing and Grand Rapids a lot. Good people up there.

 You can also buy two years ($60) and become eligible the first year. It's still worth the savings after paying $60, then next year is even better

Saying 6 dead http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/02/21/michigan-police-say-6-dead-in-random-shootings-strong-possible-suspect-arrested.html?intcmp=hpbt3 A suspect in connection to the string of random shootings that has left six dead and left three others injured was arrested early Sunday, Michigan authorities said. Kalamazoo Police Chief Jeff Hadley told Fox 17 Online a “strong possible suspect” was in custody after the shootings in Kalamazoo County. The gunman was described as a white male in his 50s and was seen driving a blue Chevy HHR before his apparent arrest. Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas told Fox 17 Online that people were killed at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Texas Township, while two others were killed at Seelye Kia. An 8-year-old child was among those killed at the restaurant, according to WOOD-TV. Officials said a father and a son were killed at the dealership. Police believe the shootings are related to an earlier drive-by shooting at Meadows Townhomes, which left one woman injured. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I think it's just an opinion by many that a crafty prosecutor could try to make the case that you had time to cock your gun and take careful aim to shoot another person. I think it would depend on the situation though. I don't know if it's ever been tried that way in an actual court. I agree with you that I can shoot better single action. With the adrenalin pumping, a lighter trigger may or may not be a good thing.

 I have a G43 also. Great gun! I've never had one issue with it. I still need to install some night sights. I'd love to see a pic with the TruGlo TFO sights on it if you have one :) Mine is very accurate too. The trigger is just what I like on a small pistol that I carry IWB.
-
Welcome! I also have a G43 and a G17 gen1. I really enjoy them both. Great choices you made.

I like that concept a lot. I would rather be underground if given the choice, but I can see a lot of usefulness in a structure like that

They messed with us too. We're still living in the same house that had one pass right overhead on April 27 and landed on a house behind us, obliterating it. We lost part of the roof, siding and other stuff around the yard. We took shelter in an interior bathroom, and the drains were whistling. Weird. If it had touched down on us... :death:  The street we live on got trashed, and people across town died. So, here I am 5 years later with no changes to our weather security. We have land to build a house on that will inclue a basement and solid safe room, but I need to fix it until that happens. I'm not content sticking out another spring/summer without somewhere to go. My kids deserve a better feeling of safety during violent storms. it only took me 5 years to take action I guess  The hole in the garage is how I'm leaning now. It just seems cramped and like a potential tumb under a fallen house.

Red, I didn't realize the safehouse sold them. I'll have to check them out They don't seem to have a lot of ventilation either.

Among other preps... 5gallon buckets, mylar bags, moisture absorbers, vaccum sealer, storage food sealed inside.... should last a while as long as I can get to it and don't have to leave without it. A garden and livestock are great, but they require lots of maintenance and would attract visitors. I consider these items my backup and long-term solution should the stored items fail me. I don't feel comfortable relying on wild game to sustain my family although I do know how to hunt, trap and fish. I know how many hunters I see in the woods during a normal season. I can only imagine how many folks would be out ready to shoot at the first thing that moves in a starvation situation. AR to protect my buckets :)

I really like the ones below the garage floor. It would be comfortable and safe to enter in the middle of the night with rough weather. The last thing I want to do is have to go outside. It would also be 100% tornado proof. My only concern about it is what if a car or other garage junk gets moved on top of the lid? I just noticed that the site I was looking at also sells below garage floor shelters. http://survive-a-storm.com/garagecube-10-person-underground-storm-shelter/
-
We have an attached garage. It's a little bit oversized, so something in the corner would still permit a car to park. Would a concrete room like you suggest be better than a bolted steel box? Here's the one we looked at. It's in stock at Home Depot. It's also a few hundred dollars more (that must be the 'included' delivery and installation) http://survive-a-storm.com/sheltercube-extreme-8-person-above-ground-tornado-shelter/
-
Well, spring will be here before we know it, and I'm still living in a house with neither a basement nor a shelter. I looked at a product that Home Depot now sells. It's an above ground steel box that bolts to the floor in the corner of the garage. It seems very strong and sturdy. I'd prefer an underground shelter, but it would be nice not having to go outside into the elements to get into it. My next house will have a basement with a safe room, but all I have now is a 4' crawl space so an interior bathroom is our only real option :( The Home Depot option is about $5300 delivered and installed with a 10year GPS locator subscription. What's your shelter like? Any above-grounders?

I'll go Friday. Rubio or Cruz or Rubio or Cruz ???! Does Rubio really have the edge against the dem over Cruz? I know what the polls say now, but I'm trying to imagine the two in a debate against hillary/bernie.

AR in 300bo with silencer if ammo is not a factor. Quiet, light, can hunt or defend with it, high round count in magazine, interchangable parts. The same AR in 5.56 if ammo levels are realistic.

Help decide what to stock for reloading supplies

Powder, primers and bullets :) I'm going to be gearing up for 300bo and 10mm soon -
It's also one step closer to not needing a boss at all (depending on investments and other income)
