  1. If it's anything like the RG25 that was given to me, then she'll be asking about upgrades. I shot it once and decided I value my hand too much to ever shoot it again. Maybe provide some good alternatives for her to try, and she should notice the difference. Then you could express to her that it's not uncommon for people to upgrade or have multiples
  2. Welcome
  3. Haha. That reminds me of when my redbone coonhound was a tiny pup. I set him down in a shopping cart, and he did something similar
  4. I do like Hardee's biscuits on occation. That grilled pork chop, egg and cheese was pretty tasty :yum:
  5. Nice!!!
  6. The older ones are best. I haven't checked the used prices lately, but there's always a couple at the pawn shop.    Yeah, they balance really well. I kept a winchester 94 in 30-30 in my truck for a long time. One of my favorite deer rifles is a Marlin 336 in 35 remington with a fixed 4 power Nikon scope. A 30-30 is much better for ammo availablity though.

  8. It comes down to what you want... bolt, lever, semi. I'd go Marlin 336 30-30 for a best truck/deer hunting set up. It's tough, durable, faster than a bolt for defensive purposes, can put deer down out to 200, availabe ammo, lays flat under a truck seat without the bolt handle. I think the Ruger American you mentioned is a good choice if you'd rather have a bolt gun. I don't think a bolt gun makes quite as good of a dedicated "truck gun" as a lever, but what you want is important. An AR or AR pistol in 300 blackout is a great truck gun that is also a capable deer gun. To me, the bolt gun tips the scale towards hunting. The AR tips the scale towards a defensive truck gun. The lever gun balances the scale. Just my opinion though. Get the one you like best.
  9. I successfully took my wife to the NWTF on Valentines day. It took years of training, but I pulled it off  The birth of a first child... I would have been a dead man. Congrats!!
  10. And informing them who blew up part of their group on the road
  11. Carol's smart... already playing a head game with her captors making them think she's a softy. I hope the time comes for her to teach them otherwise.
  12. I used to put the see-thru rings on my deer rifles, but about 10 years ago I started mouting them as low as I can. I like the scope low and close to the bore. I did recently buy a used 336 in 35rem that still has the see-thru type. I had plans to change the rings on it and lower the scope... until I shot it. It has a fixed 4x Nikon scope, and the thing is dialed in. This gun will shoot sub-moa off the bench. It has a lot of visual exterior wear and appears to have been carried in the woods A LOT by someone. I've decided to keep it like it is for a while. The high rings are not my favorite, but it works for this gun.
  13. Yep, I'm fired up. Here's my turkey related postings so far :) http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/94503-food-plots-and-turkey-season/ http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/94611-light-20ga-turkey-load/
  14. Ah, you know I guess I have been stopping it wgen it blacks out with the credits. I forgot they show a short scene afterwards. I'll have to watch again. Eta: I just went back and watched the end. It doesn't show them on the on-line episode. Just Rick's and Glenn's faces, then credits, then nothing.
  15. Where did you see her? I only heard her voice
  16. I'm finally getting caught up. I binge-watched the whole season then read this thread (yeah, all 25 pages) over the last 3-4 days. Whew. I think it'll be maggie or glenn. There's been a lot of foreshadowing to something bad happening to one of them. Starting with glenn's presumed death, maggie's near death on the wall, rick telling her she needed to take the lead with negotiating with hilltop (maybe suggesting her independence from glen), her saying this will cost us something, glenn looking at the pictures on the wall of what the saviors are capable of, and more. Maybe glen will trade himself for her release??? Or maybe carol will take the fall to save maggie??? I think it will be glenn. I also think maggie may still has future involvement with hilltop. It better not be daryl. He just got his bike back :)

I think if you sign up and pay for two years, you can buy in the first year.
  19. That is a nice deal. I went into my walmart a couple of days ago to get a cheap one to keep handy for the tractor. I saw this one on clearance for $13. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Schumacher-Electric-600-Amp-Jump-Starter/46167070?action=product_interest&action_type=title&item_id=46167070&placement_id=irs-106-t1&strategy=PWVUB&visitor_id&category=&client_guid=4f95117a-6870-43cd-b7d0-e7b77feffe76&customer_id_enc&config_id=106&parent_item_id=38243769&parent_anchor_item_id=38243769&guid=143114ff-d943-419f-8ef4-a71627ff01ce&bucket_id=irsbucket003&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n I bought two. The one you linked to is a nicer unit though, and I'm tempted to get one to keep in my truck.
  20. Great! I'll remember that next time I need a new knife.
  21. Thanks for bumping this up. I missed the original post. I'll check it out! ETA: Welcome to TGO, Scott! Glad to have you, and this is a great community here.
  22. I'm sitting here in the waiting room at Memorial in Chatt trying to read a discussion here on TGO about hunting coyotes at night when I switched over to Wifi to conserve my data plan. BLOCKED by pansies!! I get so tired of the stupidity. I bet I could look up all sorts of other junk using their wifi, but they'll block a site that contains content fully protected by a constitutional amendment. I fought this battle at Erlanger Women's East once. I was blocked there... I wrote an email... TGO was not blocked the next time I was at the waiting room. That was a few years ago, so I don't know if it stuck. I know they just block anything that deals with weapons, etc. on the network security. Don't get me wrong... I am thankful for the free Wifi, but it is frustrating. I switched back to data for now. I may write a nice, education email later to request this site not be blocked. I don't have high hopes though
  23. I have a Yukon XL and a Dodge Ram 1500 4 door short bed. I can just barely squeeze both of them in the garage, but the yukon is much easier to get in. I never park the truck inside because there's other stuff preventing that from happening. On long trips, I much prefer to sit in the truck. Something about the way the seats sit up higher like a real chair makes my body feel better. They each serve their purpose. The front seat occupants will be more comfortable in the truck, but the back seaters will prob be more comfy in the SUV due to the added space to move around I can't live without a truck though. If I were to have only one, it would be the truck. I just need that bed way too often.
  24. It's fun! I've always felt very welcomed there (I'm a newb to IDPA). I shoot mostly 3gun, but I enjoy them both. There are a lot of people, so it makes the day a little bit longer... not really a bad thing if you're having fun shooting though :) Registration begins at 0900 and the shooting starts at 1000. It's $10 at the door, and you can just show up. The gate will be open. Make sure you take a sandwich and some water... you could be there 'till 3 or 4. Once you get on the list with your email address, you'll start getting email links to practiscore to register each month. The stages used to be emailed as well, but now I think they're just posted on FB :( I've never visited the facebook pages... I don't do facebook.
