  4. Ruger LC9s $299 https://www.cdnnsports.com/rugerr-lc9sr-9mm-black.html?___SID=U
  5. We'll be heading over to my parents house tomorrow after my morning deer hunt tradition with my dad. My mom's doing the turkey, dressing, eggs, gravy, beets and the whole spread....My wife's doing the banana pudding, pumpkin and chocolate pies. I'm getting hungry already! Especially after reading and seeing some of these posts. Thankful for so many things this year...
  6. G23 gen3 for $399 http://palmettostatearmory.com/glock-23-gen-3-40-s-w-pistol-us-made-overrun-model-g2313us.html
  7. I went out this afternoon and swayed in the tree tops. A bit windy. I got a little chilled, too. I had nice marino wool long johns at home, lol. Too bad I didn't wear them. I'll wear them tomorrow afternoon when I head back out. I enjoyed beng out today just feeling thankful for my time in the woods. I saw one squirrel.
  8. Which is better... 9 or 45 ???
  9. I woke up this morning with a sinus headache. I opened the door, looked out and it was raining. I said "naw", took some tylenol and went back to bed, lol. Now the headache's gone, and I'm kicking myself 'cause it looks like an incredible morning to be in the stand. I much prefer afternoon hunting though, so I'll head out later today. Good luck everyone! Hope ya shoot a world record
  10. That is sad. Some in the crowd are still protected though... they have their safety vests on Any idea where this is?
  11. I'm hitting the woods. One of my most memorable hunts was a midday late October with gusty winds and pouring rain. It was dead until it wasn't Here came a doe busting through the woods with a buck in tow. They crisscrossed the woods around me for about 30mins before I got a shot. I remember the rain pouring off the brim of my hat at an angle from the wind. It doesn't rain in this part of TN anymore though. This weekend, I figure they might be frisky with the weather change... I hope anyway. Either way, I just enjoy sitting in the woods
  12. I found a stack of primers today that I have been checking the shelf for about a year now!
  13. I do the same when I hunt with my 44mag handgun... penetration over expansion. I load it with a hot, heavy, hardcast flat bullet. says "smack" when it hits, lol.
  14. Yes on the first question... no limitation. https://www.tn.gov/twra/article/hunting-equipment-methods The second depends on how well you can consistantly place a shot with that gun at a certain distance. I don't know the 357's hunting ballistics enough to give you a good answer though on bullet selection.
  15. I just rinse it with water. poking a small hole in the cap of a water bottle with the tip of a knife makes a pretty good squirt bottle.
  16. I still have (and shoot) some ammo that my grandfather had probably 30-40 years ago. It wasn't always kept in climate controlled conditions either. The way I understand it, is if the case is not corroded, split, damaged, etc. then it should be just fine. Lots of surplus still around.
  17. I used an older G19 for 3gun a while back just to get to know the gun. It ran fine for several matches, and then one day it failed me twice. I replaced the extractor and it ran fine many times after that to this day. It taught me that certain parts of my glock still wear out with a lot of use, so I replace parts in my others as I think they need it. Never had to in any of my others, except for a G17 gen1 that had some old replacement parts in it. It's probably the ammo, but parts are cheap and easy to replace if necessary. I'd at least keep some on hand.
  18. I did that on wednesday, except I bought a box of ammo on general principle
  19. I'm sure it'll make it to the SCOTUS eventually. Thank God we're not looking at a hillary appointed court.
  20. @rugerla1 awesome! Congrats!
  21. Better than AA? http://www.shopalexanderarms.com/Barrels-6_5_Grendel_16_Lite_Barrel.html
  22. When it gets down to $20 / brick I'll buy some. Maybe it is some places I haven't shot, bought or even looked for any in a very long time. I shifted my "small" caliber shooting to 556 since 22 ran dry. I have a 22 can waiting to come home though, so my 22 needs will change.
  23. I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. That's how I ended up building a rifle on election day, lol.
  24. I'm going to order a 16" 6.5 Grendel bbl and bolt today.
  25. You're probably right. It should be no different than buying a flashlight or scope though. I hope they can get it done.
