  1. That's the same for me also. Based on some of your postings here over the years, I can get a great trigger with a little polishing, an extended adjustable grip screw and light springs. I know your trigger work would put mine to shame, but it works great!
  2. I called the Colt custom shop the other day to answer a few questions I had about grips, etc. I had also seen a couple of reviews online that Colt recently started making the 3rd gens more like the 2nd gens with removable cylinder bushing, etc. Some people are even unofficially refering to them as gen4. The Colt rep indeed confirmed the recent changes. This just adds to my enthusiasm to get a new one. Have you compared a recent gen3 that has gone back to the "old" design?
  3. Perfect truck gun and looks great. What caliber?
  4. Great idea! I'll have to store that one in the memory banks in case I ever have that issue. Thanks
  5. I take Airborne until it's gone at the first sign of a cold or sickness. I've been doing that for about 10 years. I used to get really bad colds and flu a couple times a year (to the point of loosing my voice). Ever since I started using Airborne, it seems the cold never happens or it's much shorter in duration and intensity. There may be nothing to it, but it sure seems like it works to me. I would loose my voice every year, but that hasn't happened once since I started using Airborne). I think echinacea is similar. This last time I got sick, I didn't take it right away because I didn't go to the store on Christmas day, and the cold seemed worse than normal
  6. Careful! The power of the jinx...
  7. I've had an occasional, yet persistent cough since I was sick on Christmas also. I feel fine, but it still nags me.
  8. Hmm. May have to retract the detract, lol.
  9. I am going to shoot and enjoy it though.
  10. I called Colt. They are producing about 100/month. It's going to take a little searching to find one. Given the supply/demand/quality, I have no doubt it will be worth as much or more than I pay for it as soon as I pick it up. I'm super excited about this
  11. Ok. I've been close to placing an order for a clone a couple of times. I think I've decided to go a different direction.... I want the real thing! If I'm going to spend $500-$700 on a clone, I might as well spent a little more and get a new Colt. I just don't know how long I'll have to wait. Appears they're all done through the custom shop?
  12. I had something on Christmas day and the week following. I was in bed for 2 days straight. I'm not sure if it was the flu though. It seemed more like a cold, but I did have a fever and some stomache issues. It waas either a mild flu or a heavy cold, but it knocked me off my feet and the whole week was spent trying to get better. Took about 10 days to feel 100%. I did not get a flu shot.
  13. It's off the grid but on the net
  14. Well, I was hoping we were out of April by now. Congrats! Submitted mine in July.
  15. Figures that I'm in a collectables buying mood at this time
  16. I go out of my way to ensure without a doubt that I am in compliance with game laws and always have, so I have no tolerance for poachers. I applaud TWRA for this one. It seems they did good...
  17. I have a few misc parts that never really become part of a new build. I have a few trigger guards too because I also install the oversized ones, lol. I also go with the large latch BCM CHs, so I have a few "standard" ones left over. I have a couple BC's with no bolts . I have a ton of standard grips 'cause I always put on a Magpul Moe+. Plastic handguards, springs, pins... I probably have more parts than I realize, lol.
  18. You're doing better than me with spare parts. It seems whenever I get a healthy supply of parts they all get together for a party and a new AR is born I do have a good supply of springs, pins, etc, but I need to add to it.
  19. Bad guy may have got a shot off. The owner said in the video "he shot at me".
  20. Most cars that I come across left unattended and running are police cars outside restaurants, stores, etc. I just learned from this thread that's illegal though
  21. This is true. Buy what you want/need now (or soon). I'm pretty well set with black rifles. I will always continue to look for deals on mags and spare parts though. My interests lately are shifting back to old guns (single action revolvers, milsurps, classics, etc.). Too bad they're not as cheap as most AR's these days
  22. The mobile version looks great on my Samsung Galaxy S5, BTW. Very clean and easy to read.
  23. I've started using the Undertech holster shorts from the Glockstore for my G43 , so I do unholster every night. Times when I carry using another holster or carry another gun (G20, G19, etc.), I still unholster and clear it every night. I have another gun as a bedside gun, so my carry gun gets unholstered, cleared and put in the safe. Honestly, I just enjoy handling it and dry firing a couple times each day. I really like the Undertech holster shorts BTW. They are by far the most comfortable and most concealed way for me to carry my small 9's.
  24. Just another reason to have a house in the woods, with a long curvy driveway, and a fence with a gate, and 2 big dogs, and...
  25. This will pass about the same day I get my stamps I hope it passes ASAP
