  1. my wife and I both have Verizon and we both just got new phones. We were at our 2 years also, and you get and additional discount if you order it from Verizon's website. We didn't pay a dime for either phone! My wife got the Samsung Omnia. It is an all touch screen with windows mobile 6.1, internet, word, excel, but the keyboard is touch screen. That is why I got the Samsung I770 Saga. It has all the same features but half of the phone is touch screen - the other half is querty keyboard. in fact, I am typing from my phone now. The optical mouse is really cool on both phones. there are other phones, but you can get a good smartphone free if you order it from their wesite.
  2. I used to carry a multi-tool for the EMB120. Of course I think speed tape was holding the wings on... I liked flying it though.
  3. Is this a company owned vehicle or your personal vehicle? Is it a normal parking lot, or do vehicle searches occur? If it is your personal truck in an average parking lot, I would just leave it locked up and hidden. That's maybe not the best legal advice (?), but that's what I would do.
  4. I am looking at a Taurus 85 Ultra-lite in .38spl+p or a Taurus 605 in .357mag for the same purpose. I will probably get a hammered version just because I like to shoot SA sometimes. I will just practice to draw from my pocket with my thumb guarding the hammer as others have suggested. I will definately always use a pocket holster. I don't like the idea of a loaded gun in my pocket with an unguarded trigger. I hadn't thought of the other great reasons mentioned for using a holster - reduce lint in the gun and to keep it properly oriented. I good pocket holster can also keep the gun from printing in some pants. I will probably choose the 605 in .357mag. I like the option to shoot .357 or .38 out of the same gun.
  5. Posted places loose my business because I am usually carrying... period. I can't tell you the last time I went to the Bradley Square mall here in Cleveland, K-Mart, Sears, etc. because the whole stupid parking lot is posted. I used to spent thousands of dollars a year at these places before I got my HCP. Now I just go elsewhere. It's the same with a restaurant for me. If they post, I won't darken their door. There are plenty of other good eats in town that will accept my $$$ without restricting my ability to defend my family.
  6. Oh, I understand that private establishments can be posted to restrict whatever. The freedom (within the law) to run one's own business is part of what makes this a great county. I'm just sayin' that it's a little different than being struck by lightning in the parking lot. The question was could a place be held liable for preventing an indiviual from exercising their second amendment rights and privileges granted by the state by voluntarily posting a sign. If I owned a restaurant I would seriously consider that question. You can be sued for anything - remember the hot coffee burning someone at McDonald's? With the right circumstances and the right lawyers, who knows what suit is possible. On the other hand, I don't think a restaurant owner could go wrong with just complying with the state law and 2A rights.
  7. I guess the difference is that the Second Amendment says that we can do it, but a business owner that posts a sign says we can't. If someone was denied the right to defend themselves when they otherwise would have had a gun, I could see a libility suit making it to the Supreme Court for a decision.
  8. #1) I don't know of any place that will ask you or check vehicles. The only scenario I can think of is if you get stopped for a traffic violation, and the officer asks if you have any weapons. Otherwise if you carry concealed, no one should know. #2) I am a little unsure of this myself. I think you do enter the National Park while driving on the Great Smoky Mountains Pkwy between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but I am not positive. From what I understand, as long as you are in your car, you should be fine. #3) I have stayed at several cabins while carrying. I have never noticed any signs or policy against it at the places I have stayed. A lot of cabins are individually owned but managed by a leasing company. I think the leasing company sets the policies. I would carry to the cabin - many are pretty remote. However, be aware that some may be located very near the national park. #4) I agree with the previous answers #5) Any place in TN that serves alcohol for on-site consumption is off limits until July 14. Other than Dollywood, I don't remember seeing any other posted businesses in that area. Have fun!
  9. What, you don't like building a nest? I agree, I'll do a strategic drop before I leave the house to avoid such situations. Then, I use the stall-zipper combo. My gun NEVER leaves its holster in a public place.
  10. Seems like the resturant should be held liable if an HCP holder can't defend themselves just because the restaurant chooses to artificially restrict 2A rights.
  11. I sent an email to my Sen. Bunch asking him to vote to override the veto. I never got a reply. Is there anyway to find out if he was counted in the roll call? I wonder if he had a legitimate reason for not being there or if he just ducked the vote. Might help me form an educated decision come next election time...
  12. Makes me wish they would talk about selenium:rolleyes:
  13. Where's Hexhead? This is a good time for Delay, delay, delay....
  14. First thing on the calendar is Tort Liability and Reform . I sure hope they knock the override vote out before the calendar. If they wait until the end of the sesson like the House did, I don't know if I can suffer through the whole calendar today.
  15. I am in Eastern time... Took me a few minutes to figure out why the video hadn't started yet.
  16. 40 days... let's hope not. I've been sitting here expecting the senate video to start at any time... Central time is throwin' me off again
  17. Thnaks. I was in the process of looking up the details on that.
  18. I just hope they talk about something other than selenium before the vote. That was exhausting.
