  1. Daisy BB gun when I was about 7 or 8. I still have it, and my 6 Yo son is learning to shoot it now. My dad bought me a Charles Daily 20ga over and under for Christmas when I was about 10. He got it used, but it was in great shape. It still is, and I still have it. Too many memories to ever part with it.
  2. I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk with a 4.6" barrel and one with a 7.5" barrel. Both are .44mag, and I use both of them to hunt with occationally. My accurate range is significantly less with the shorter bbl, but it's still fun to use. I don't know much about 10mm ballistics (only that it's bigger than 9mm ) , but I'm sure it would do the job on deer.
  3. 4" barrel or longer. I prefer a SA revolver for hunting, but a Glock with 4"+ barrel is legal.
  4. That's why I'm not so quick to dismiss the possibility that they might be in TN. If it is rare to see one in areas where they are plentiful, then they would appear to be extinct in areas where they are few. If they are in low numbers, they could live and die in remote areas without anyone knowing it. I don't know if they are in TN, but it would not surprise me. We know that they exist - no one is questioning that. They were here once before, and I don't know why they couldn't return. There are no fences keeping them out.
  5. My dad and grandfather heard that scream outside their tent once while deer hunting (not in TN). That was years ago, and I think it still creeps them out a little to think about it. That can't be a fun sound to wake up to.
  6. Here's what perked my interest in the possibility of cats around here: A few years ago, I found a paw print on some land I leased in Polk Co. that I thought looked too big for a bobcat. I went home and looked it up on the Internet, and it sure did look similar to a mt. lion's. I thought, yeah right... I hunted the land for a couple of years without seeing any cats. One day I was talking to the neighboring farmer. I never once mentioned anything about the track or cats, and he told me that he saw a mt. lion creeping around his barn. I asked if it was a big bobcat. He said he knew the difference, and this one had a long tail and was about the size of his full-grown rottweiler. He said he knew what a bobcat and a mt. lion looked like. I don't know if he was credible, but he sounded convinced of it. I would say that there are some in TN.
  7. What part of TN? I'm sure there are some here in TN. Now, it sounds like you have proof...
  8. He wouldn't necessarily know that you carry a gun just because you have a HCP. You could say something like, "Sir, having an HCP gives me more flexibility in how I can transport my pistol to the range." or... "Sometimes I hunt with a handgun when it is legal to do so, and having a HCP makes it easier to transport it to the field." Once again...
  9. True. It's important to make sure it can be mounted it in the end. If I get a big or different squirrel this year, I might have it mounted (I won't attempt doing it myself).
  10. I am also looking for a lease. I have found some good lease opportunities in KY, but I would like something closer. I belong to a club now, but I am more interested in QDM than the other members.
  11. When someone puts a lawn mower muffler (as I call it) on a compact car, and then accelerates right next to me, making that muffled wuuaaahhh sound. Those cars must be fast!
  12. Cool. I'm going to try that this season. I also hate ticks... they look too much like spiders!
  13. I'll have to try that stuff. Does it seem to be truely odorless to the deer while you are bowhunting?
  14. When there's no receipt available after you pay at the pump. Rubber-neckers on the highway that will just about cause an accident by sticking their nose in someone else's business. Walmart: only 2 checkout lanes open when they have 30, and when you park at one end of the building only to find out those doors have locked since you went in.
  15. I agree. The law has changed, and I don't see anything that allows individual state-level WMA's to "opt out".
  16. So did I get ripped off on that Hi Point for $699?
  17. Ok. As soon as I posted this, the .357 dropped from $803 to $403. There has to a database or software issue with their online store. If I just keep watching it, maybe it'll drop to $103...
  18. You're not kidding. They're out of their minds! Ruger .357 Blackhawk for $803!?! Ruger 357 4 5/8" BARREL for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $403.00 The MSRP is only $541 Ruger New Model Blackhawk® Single Action Revolvers But they have the .44mag SBH listed at $479 Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 4-5/8" Blued, Rosewood for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $479.00 I wonder what's going on.
  19. Available in hardcover or paperback.
  20. Thanks. I'm going to their site now to print that!
  21. Saw one at Gander Mt. in knoxville yesterday, but that's on the opposite end of the state for ya. It looked pretty cool...
  22. Oh yes, Bobbitt. :panic:I think my mind subconsciously blocked that whole scenario. Ouch!!!
  23. Who tested that?
  24. Maybe he's going to give away AK's
