  1. "We gotta get the guns off the street!" Has anyone ever seen a gun on the street? I've seen cars, pedestrians, animals and litter, but never a gun. "packin' heat"
  2. double post... I'm having browser issues.
  3. There is a little hype associated with it, but I like 'em. There is only so much that you can customize on a lot of guns, but an AR can be unique. One person's AR can look and feel dramatically different than the next guy's AR, but they can both use the same parts/mags. The availability of parts and accessories to customize the AR is cool... almost like Lego's for grown ups! I also have some guns that I would pick up before an AR when hunting or shooting. I don't think the AR is the smoothest or most comfortable rifle out there, but I certainly have a place for it in my collection. I'm hoping to put mine to use as a coyote slayer soon.
  4. The deer looks a little sleepy, too. Nice buck - that's a keeper!
  5. Good deal. I am new to the AR world (.223 for that matter) and hunting coyotes. I have access to hunt a farm that has three very large fields and a lot of thick woods. I like the way that guy on Predator Quest hunts them... rifle for the long shots and a 12ga for the close work. Looks like something fun to do after deer / duck seasons close.
  6. I have been building an AR in 5.56 for some time now. When I finally finish it, I'm looking forward to using it on some yotes. I am building it as a 16" bbl flat-top carbine. I plan to have a standard front sight with flip-up rear sight and scope with ring mounts. I also want a bipod. I know there are better setups for a hunting AR, but mine will be multi-purpose (varmint hunter, plinker, home defender, just want it to look cool ). I just hope that front sight doesn't get in the way of my scope. What is the approx. effective range of .223 out of a 16" bbl AR-15 on coyote sized game?
  7. I built the weasel ball decoy from VarmintAl's last night. My 2 year old thinks it's real Now, I just need to try it on some yotes.
  8. I would go ahead and call now. It was the same deal with me that others have reported... They said it was issued the day that I called, and I got it a week later.
  9. About 1/4 of the way down on Varmint Al's page, it explains how to use the weasel ball (with pictures). Varmint Al's Hunting Page Thanks for the tip on finding them at Cracker Barrel. I have been hunting that elusive weasel in my kids' toy closet for some time now. I know there's one in there, but I think I'll just go buy a new one for 8 bucks. I want to start hunting coyotes as well.
  10. Great info here! I'm sure I will be referencing this thread often.
  11. I think the legislature should just repeal 39-17-1305 (Possession of firearm where alcoholic beverages are served). Seems like that should fix it.
  12. The Prez Dispenser
  13. Don't forget waffles
  14. YES!!! When do I start? Um, uh.... is there a Christmas bonus?
  15. I watched the first half of it. I can't believe he couldn't light the match at the range. Anyone can shoot the head off of it. Definitely a great shot! I wish I could have watched more but I had some things to do.
  16. I wonder when those 4 applied for their HCP... probably did at the direction of Rayburn's attorney. That or they were "bought".
  17. A Major Award!!!
  18. Seagall shoots good!
  19. Wash your hands!
  20. People are crazy.
  21. OP Q: A:
  22. I think it's a good idea.
  23. You guys that are having problems, what browser are you using? I wonder if it's specific to one browser type. Have you experienced the same problem with a variety of browsers? There are browser add-ons that are designed to log you out after a specified time - have one of those installed? Usually an inactivity logout is server driven, but mine (and a lot of others) don't log out. I know that has to be a pain to have to keep logging back in... hope mine doesn't start doing it
  24. I vote we keep Christmas. The crazed shoppers are annoying though.
