  1. Maybe you could talk them into getting a security system (you know, to monitor for fires ). Then, they would have to be a little more careful about not letting strangers come and go because of setting off the system. That could work unless they give the code to the repairman.
  2. Does anyone have any experience with "freezing" your credit report? I have been reading about this a little recently, but I don't know a whole lot about it. I have not been a victim of identity theft yet that I know of, but it seems like being proactive is not a bad idea. I have heard that all that the companies like Life Lock and others do is freeze your credit reports, and this prevents ANYONE from opening ANYTHING in your name until your credit is "thawed". Apparently, anyone can freeze or thaw their own credit for about $10 without paying a third-party company. If/when I want to buy another house or car, I would just have to thaw my credit first. I am currently on a quest to pay off all my debt and improve my credit score (not bad but could be better). I would be interested if anyone knows more about this. Are their any cons to doing this? So far, it seems like a good idea...
  3. It's tough to teach common sense. You may have to result to fear and scare tactics. Maybe arrange it so they watch the local news more often... all kinds of break-in and crime stories there. However, I'm sure they know the crime is out there, they just don't think it will happen to them. Sometimes that reality is tough to accept for some people. Once they realize it CAN happen to them, then I think you will see some progress.
  4. I always thought that the best reason to have a forward assist is not so much for a round that doesn't want to chamber but for a weak buffer spring. Over time, I would imagine that the buffer spring weakens or sticks, and there could be a situation where the round chambers just fine but the bolt fails to go into battery by a mm or so. I agree that if the round jams just extract and try another.
  5. Very nice! I see the weasel ball decoy in your pic. I built one and plan to use it as soon as I can get out there. Did you use it to help bring those two in?
  6. This is going to be addictive...
  7. Pretty cool. I made one.
  8. Thanks for reminding me... I forgot. Here is my brother's Walcreature sighting with camo clothing tucked into cowboy boots, complete with mini skirt. (cell phone quality, and I think that guy staring him down made him nervous)
  9. They are usually plentiful at gun shows as well. I ordered mine right from donhume.com for $21. Took about a week to get it.
  10. WD, are you trying to post it using Firefox? I always have to copy my pics using an Internet Explorer browser for it to work.
  11. I would also recommend a Don Hume. I usually prefer the DH IWB for my HK over the Galco OWB that I have. It was cheap and works great.
  12. I don't have one, but I hear they are very reliable. Can't go wrong with a 9mm for the price.
  13. I am bookmarking some good links from the thread. AMMOMAN.COM d/b/a Discount Distributors has some good deals sometimes.
  14. Cheaper Than Dirt has Brown Bear for $4.49/20 rounds, so..... $225 for 1000. AMM-232 - Ammo .223 Brown Bear, HP, 62 Grain, 20 Round Box Russian, Velocity 3050 fps, Berdan Primed
  15. YouTube - Groundhog Day "Don't Drive Angry"
  16. I heard on the news that PETA wants 'poor Phil' to be replaced by a robotic ground hog. I guess it's cruel and all to subject a ground hog to his own shadow. I say we replace PETA with the robot.

    Ive got $500

For me, I would go with an Rem 870 if it would double as a defense/hunting gun. If I wanted a carry gun, I would get a Glock or maybe Ruger SP101.
  18. I am on here with my phone now. I'll post it up when I get home to my computer.
  19. The "Wal Creatures" keep my laughing. My brother recently snaped a picture of a lady wearing full camo winter hunting clothes with the pants tucked into cowboy boots and a mini jeans skirt over top of it all. Gotta love Wallys
  20. I have heard my town of Cleveland called Clevegas. I think it's just sarcasm.
  21. :tinfoil: State Hopes To Harness Power Of 'Three Wolf' Shirts - Money News Story - WMUR Manchester
  22. I would really like to be able to put a holster on my nightstand like that. I have small kids, so I can't. I plan to get a small biometric safe to mount under the bed or in the nightstand.
  23. I have heard about an indoor range in Charleston near Bow Water ~30min South of Athens. I don't know if that's too far away, but rumor has it that they charge $5 for half an hour with no (or minimal) yearly membership. I have planned to visit there myself, but I haven't yet. I can't confirm those details or anything else about it, but that is what I have been told by a friend. Anyone else know about this range? It's pretty close to me, so I need to at least check it out one of these days.
