  1. $139 Blemished Heritage from Bud's http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_963/products_id/411544709
  2. I agree with the points made above about a home inspection and warranty. We have always used AHS for the warranty and has been worth it. If the house is currently occupied, make sure there is good language about when you take occupancy. If it is AT CLOSING, do a walk through inspection just prior to closing. That's the only issue I have ran into. Occupancy was supposed to be at closing but the previous owners still had a lot of moving out to do when we closed, and we didn't know it. We technicality had occupancy but couldn't move in for a few days.
  3. Now if my Wally's would start selling guns again and bring back that layaway plan that they had, I'd probably go in there more often.
  4. I called the poaching hotline last year and never did hear from TWRA
  5. I like Cain. He's a smart guy
  6. Huh??? What's next, double-breasted suits? Seriously, I like pleats on dress pants. I feel too self conscious otherwise. Too form fitting I guess, and the "man-hood" just prefers concealed carry. lol
  7. yep. I'm glad he finally made up his mind (again) not to run.
  8. Good advice. I usually use the stuff in the warmer months to help keep myself free of ticks and chiggers. I got lazy a few weeks ago and checked my cameras without proper clothing and without spraying. Well, I got schooled on chiggers again. Those suckers have no mercy!
  9. Good lookin' buck. Nice bear. I am going to try my first bear hunt this year during the rifle season. I'm reading up on it because I've never hunted a bear.
  10. I have a few tents (from outfitter to small dome), but the one I use most often is a cheapy from Walmart. I got it over 15 years ago, and it still functions great. That Coleman should last a very long time if you make sure it's dry and aired it out before you store it.
  11. Nice doe! Meat on the table.
  12. It sure was entertaining
  13. Oh, I think everyone picked up on that.
  14. That's awesome! Sometimes you just gotta scratch
  15. I can see that happening there, lol. If you get the actual sporting goods clerk, it's usually not so bad. It's when people from other departments show up to cover that weird things start to happen. I am also a fan of the Monarch ammo at Academy. I stock up on their .223 fmj (about $3.50 for 20 rounds)
  16. Maybe this goes without saying, but don't forget some sort of ground cloth to go under your tent. I just use one of the small cheap tarps from Wally's. This helps to keep the bottom of your tent dry and gives an extra layer of material between you and the ground. Maybe not required for all tents but definitely helps.
  17. If I'm walking to my stand in the daylight, I go sloooow. I walk quietly, and stay alert. Stop often and listen. I have had several deer before I even get to my stand. If they get bumped and run on my way to the stand, but don't seem too spooked, I will hunt right there. Often they will circle back around downwind trying to figure out what I am.
  18. .... On Mondays
  19. 39
  20. Wow! Good thing he had a safety vest on.
  21. Good advice. I would also store it in a gallon size ziploc bag. Wet paper is the same as no paper. I learn something new every time I visit this website.
  22. I guess this is what it looks like to ride one... My 4 yr old girl said, "look at that rabbit!" haha
  23. It's hard to see. We ate there twice in a weekend (hoagie addiction ), and I didn't see it the first time.
  24. I have to say that in my 30 years of hunting experience, I have never witnessed this. I've heard about poaching instances, but hunters don't do this. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I would say it's pretty rare. I grew up in MD (hunted the Eastern Shore) and Northern OH, so we all hunted trophies. Besides, it's easier to drag a deer out of the woods if he's got big handles attached to his head. Does were considered bait. Bragging rights for a big buck doesn't stop at the neck either: body mass is important too, and it's hard to weigh a deer if you left his carcass in da woods. I have never seen anyone walking out with just a set of antlers, but I've seen many hunters dragging out trophy deer. For me, I guess you could say that I am a "trophy meat hunter" because I eat (or share) what I kill, but I'm always looking for a big buck. I will kill a doe or a smaller buck if I need to fill my freezer, but my freezer is only so big. However, it is in need of some venison right now, so I will take the first opportunity of the season before I start to get picky.
  25. That location had a sign up about 2 weeks ago, but it just read "No Firearms" or something like that. I don't even think it's on the door, just off to the side.
