Congrats! It's hard to beat a SA Ruger. I have a ss single six convertible that was my grandfathers. It has the 22 and 22 mag cylinders. That single-10 looks awesome, and you will love it

Alaska Gun Owners for Obama; Cruel Joke or For Real?
Wingshooter replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The bottom of the pages says "Paid for by campaign for change, a project of the Alaska Democrat party". It looks like a campaign tool to trick sheep into thinking Obama is for our rights. That's my take anyway -
Wow, that's all good info and interesting. Makes me want to read the comics version. You raise a good point concerning the "rules of infection." I am trying to remember if there is any instance in the TV series of someone just dying from causes other than zombie attack and not coming back as zombie. On the highway, Carl pulled a set of knives off of a "dead" guy. Other than that, I can't think of any specific examples.

Yeah, what Lester said opens all kinds of issues and threats. I can't wait for the next episode! DVR set

I don't have an Alaskan, but I can tell you that Ruger makes nice 44's. I have two Super Blackhawks in 44mag and shoot them a lot. I've never heard of anyone having any problems with Redhawks or the Alaskan. I had my eye on a 44 snub a while back from S&W. I think it was a 629 with 2.5" or 3" barrel (can't really remember). It was also available with 4" bbl. Taurus also makes the Tracker 44mag in 2" barrel. The Taurus is smaller and cheaper, but I would stick with the Ruger or S&W for a woods gun.

If I could have only one... G19 = common caliber, relatively easy to carry, high cap, great addition to the bug out bag That said, a G20 is on my wish list right now (another woods gun)

If you ever decide to go that route, these videos will help. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11014/learn/

Suppressor, Can, Silencer!!!!!!!
Wingshooter replied to BluewaterTactical's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Hmm, I smell a new project, lol. I have been considering a 22 and/or 223 suppressor for a couple months now, but didn't like the price tag. The $200 stamp is a given, but the actual price of the can is what has kept me from taking the plunge. I have most of the tools, lathe and skill to do it, but I didn't realize it was legal to build your own. Cool thread... -
Gun Free Dining Tennessee Website
Wingshooter replied to GlockSpock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I searched my city and the only one that I know that didn't allow guns is out of business now. -
Congrats! Nice gun

I have a P3AT and a PF9. I can carry either in cargo pants pocket or coat pocket. I can carry the 380 in jeans or other pants pocket but not the PF9. If I was looking for a true "pocket gun" in 9mm, I would not choose the PF9. I really like the gun but not for that role. I would look at a CM9/PM9 or as mentioned the new Sig938 http://www.sigsauer....-blackwood.aspx

Part of what makes this show great is the details. A lot of shows would have jumped from the barn scene right to the burn pile. This show covers all the struggles and hard work of surviving in their collapsed society right down to the effort it took cleaning up the dead. No ambulance, no coroner, just them and an old truck. Good point about the pregnancy.

Back in Season 1, they kept asking if a person had been "bitten or scratched". Also, in "Guts" episode when Rick and Glenn went for the truck in Atlanta and spread zombie guts on themselves, they said not to let the zombie blood in any open wounds, on skin, in eyes, etc. So, I think a person has to be infected through the blood stream by a zombie or other carrier. Rick probably shot the guy in the head in case he had already been bit or in case a walker came in later to snack on the guy.

Kind of sounds like someone misplaced or forgot about you the first time around and did a rush job to get it to you once you contacted them. It's still no excuse. I hope they do right for you this time around. I love my Rugers, and I hope this was just an isolated incident.
-
Not good at all. I hate to hear this because I love my Rugers but never used their service. I think I would send it back, ask for a refund AND a complementary reblue. They should make it right. It's one thing to get poor work, it's another to get poor work and they had it that long. I would also keep in touch with them regularly about the progress. That stinks. I hope it works out for ya

Saw one in a store last week. I'm saving for another purchase so I didn't but it. I may regret that later because it was pretty nice!

I recently discovered Sons of Anarchy (thanks to TGO!)... another great TV series and about equally addictive IMHO. I think you're right about Shane, and I think it's just a matter of time before he tries to kill Dale (or vice versa). Especially since Dale is on to him about shooting Otis. Unless he was completly eaten, I keep wating for zombie Otis to come limping up to the house with a bullet hole in his knee

Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth to Hershal if he has to "put her down" because he kept those walkers in the barn? Have no idea... just speculating but could happen I guess.
-
Yeah, that was killin' me, and Glenn dropped the ball as backup.

I am going to have the same issue with my new Rem700 and Nikon scope. I might do a picatinny rail base and position the rings as needed. Those offsets should work too, though http://www.midwayusa.com/product/577595/egw-1-piece-picatinny-style-base-savage-110-through-116-round-rear-long-action-matte

Golf Ball Launcher for an AR 15
Wingshooter replied to gjohnsoniv's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have had this item saved in my Amazon wish list for quite a while but didn't know what I would do with it. Thanks for helping realize that I really do NEED one of these! I knew there had to be a "sport" for it -
Two zombies.... Don't forget about Hershal's wife (I think??) that got a sickle through the back of the head. I like it that the show is about survival and not just about a bunch of zombies. Also, the two freeloaders they met in the bar were about the same as zombies because they were a threat to the group's survival. Actually more of a threat because they had the ability to think and plan together. I think we have a couple of new issues unfolding for the next episode: 1) Lori is prob unconcious and injured in a wrecked car with a mangled walker nearby, and 2) That girl at the farm (is that Hershal's daughter???) is sick. She wrestled with that zombie in the beginning. Did she get bit and is a walker-to-be? There was more zombie action when they were in the big city but less walkers out in the country. That's probably realistic. I expect they may move on soon and start to encounter larger numbers of walkers. I only started watching the show about a month ago, so I watched an episode every night on Netflix or Amazon. It's tough now that I have to actually wait for the next one!
-
I had to DVR it. Watched it yesterday, and I thought it was a great episode. I agree about Glenn. He was standing in perfect position to cover the guy behind Rick. Good thing Rick was up to the task. I think there will be some real suspense in the next episode when that walker that Lori hit tries to get to her in that wrecked car.I noticed that she just tosed that snub revolver on the seat next to her, so it's probably no where to be found now. I'm predicting a real nail-bitter (so to speak ) with this situation in the next episode.

I'll also add that the trigger on my 238 is pretty heavy for a SA. I would find this objectionable on a 1911, but I don't mind it on a pocket pistol. Accuracy was still good at SD range but the trigger is a little on the heavy side. Only negative a really have is that it only comes with one mag and spares are pricey
