  1. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11004/learn/
  2. I built one for pretty cheap right after Obama got elected (I know, bad timing for an AR build). Just to get started, I skimped on price on some parts (stripped lower, stripped upper, handguards, stock, etc.), but I spent more (still not a lot) on a good BCG and barrel. I have put 1000++ steel rounds through this gun without one malfunction, and I have never regretted spending a few dollars more for a good bolt and barrel. I have switched out most of the 'cheap' parts for better stuff, and it's a completely different rifle now. Tools: If you build the upper, you will want a vice block for it and a torque wrench (can be rented from Autozone). http://www.cabelas.com/ar-15-promag-8482-ar-15-lower-viseblock.shtml?WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleBaseUSA&WT.z_mc_id1=1318784&rid=40&mr:trackingCode=FEE68126-3E37-E111-B2D2-001B21631C34&mr:referralID=NA Barrel wrench http://www.midwayusa.com/product/762854/dpms-mil-spec-armorers-barrel-wrench-ar-15-steel?cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Gunsmithing+-+AR-15+Parts+%28Not+Magazines%29-_-PriceCompListing-_-762854 I got my roll pin punches at Home Depot for less than $10 for the set. small screwdriver set rubber mallet needle nose pliers. That's about it
  3. What any of those three brings to the table is far better than Obama and his EXTREME friends. In this country, the best way for us to "fight to keep our liberty" is at the ballot box. You have a chance to do that in November. Like him or not, Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance to win in November. That's just the way it is. Writing-in a vote or voting 3rd party in the General might make you feel all warm and fuzzy for about 2 months, but I will choose to play it smart not emotional by voting for ABO. Let's get this EXTREMIST out of office. We can fire him in November. I will not hold my nose as I vote for Romney or Santorum. No president will ever be perfect, and they are better than what we have. I wish we had better choices but right now, it is what it is.
  4. Yeah, that window zombie was nasty. Will be interesting to see what eventually transpires with Shane. Glenn... one of the few women left in civilization wants him and he pushes her away??? I would have chosen differently.
  5. Walkers inbound in 10 minutes.... man the turrets!
  6. Just rain down here north of Chattanooga in Bradley Co.
  7. You may be right. Only the dumber preppers are willing to go on the air anyway. The serious, smart people that are preparing for TEOTWAWKI keep that kind of info to themselves.
  8. I like Santorum over Romney, but I want the best candidate to beat our current dictator. In the general, I will vote ABO. He needs to be fired
  9. haha, I saw that too. Those people just severely decreased their chances should something bad happen. No doubt, more than one person in their town will now seek those people out to steel from them in the event of TEOTWAWKI. And the ones that come to steel and mouch WILL be armed.
  10. I would have too but don't think we will see it. Post #26 reveals that OP'r is Banned:
  11. Or under the covers
  12. I hate spiders and snakes, but I hate spiders more. You just can't trust something with that many legs. However, a snake in the toilet is a whole new level of fear. I mean is he going to bite your .... when you sit down? Surprise!!! no thanks.
  13. I didn't realize it either. Must have been related to this, but I'll assume there's more to it...
  14. I bet they would kill for a HAM radio and good antenea right about now (assuming there is anyone left to talk to). Would be helpful to know how widespread the carnage is.
  15. Rick has been determined to go to Ft Benning, and I think those two guys said rumor was Benning had been overrun. I wonder if that info will change Rick's plan. I can't see the logic in heading for Nebraska, but it might be a risk to head for Benning now.
  16. I would also like to find a cheap lower (<$80) for my next build. The problem is not the cost of the lower, but lower+ shipping + transfer fee. Who sells stripped lowers locally (Southeast TN) for a good price?
  17. I dunno, but I think they are all just half decomposed and prone to falling apart. In the episode "guts", they talked about how the zombies could smell the living just like the living could smell the dead, so arm prolly just fell off from rot.
  18. Can't blame you for that. I hate the things. Just looking at the big close up photos in this thread FREAK ME OUT. I can watch a zombie movie no problem, but I can't look those spiders (above) in the eyeS. Creepy they are!
  19. FYI, Last week's episode "Nebraska" comes on AMC tonight at 10p if anyone missed it.
  20. Ditto. I have used mostly .223
  21. I don't think I have shopped there before. I'll check them out now...
  22. Thanks for the info! That helps very much. I am going to order that sling setup. I was referring to the C.L.A.S.H hook in my post. It appears to be a secure and comfortable sling. Looks cool, too
  23. How do you like that sling? Is that a Vickers and did it come with that buckle? That's what I am looking for. Nice rifle too!!
  24. Haha. That's a good find. Hilarious! Maybe if we faced them all the same direction, the earth would spin backwards and reverse time. Like in the old Superman movies, lol. Or we could rig it to "fly" the earth around space.
