Good job helping a young guy and his dad make a great memory. Cool yote

yep. I wonder if that scene holds a lot of importance as the story continues.Maybe they had the virus already without being bitten or scratched (???). Lots to think about with that scene, and I couldn't help but remember Lester's post when I watched it....

Thanks. It sounds like a great sight. I might go with that... -
Golf Ball Launcher for an AR 15

Don't forget to post the video... -
Rick has proved himself to be deadly with that Python before, but carrying a long barrel revolver really paid off in that situation. Much better tool for that shot than Shane's Glock.

Yes, that logic really bothered me too. I wonder how many walkers that knife stabbed before it cut into his blood. A little cross-contamination waiting to happen there. Not to mention that they live in a world that is very short on antibiotics and medical supplies. I would try to prevent open wounds and infection at all costs.

If Shane was zombie-fied, then that would have fixed things. However, if Shane escaped, then he would have definitely been on the hunt for Rick. I think Rick had to either kill him or go back to help him.

That's a pretty good idea if the situation warrants. An "off-the-radar" road system. The addition of a good machete (Condor Golok... my personal favorite) to a bug-out bag might prove useful. Also, something for chiggars.

That's pretty much my plan. I feel comfortable with the prospect of just sitting tight where I am, unless something happens to Sequoyah. In that case, I am a mere 10 miles away and would probably need to move. A lot of things (earthquake, major flood on the TN river, terrorist action, accident, etc.) could lead to a problem, but I think an actual nuclear leak from there is remote. Still, I am prepared to bug-out if necessary, but my "Plan A" is to bug-in.

Glad you did. I'm looking forward to the season. I have been watching a flock of 80-100 birds across the road from my hunting lease, and found some sign on the lease. I will be using either 870 with 3.5" #4's or 1100 with 3" #5

Unless you have 3 ipads, I'd say playdoh. When that wears off, construction paper, washable warkers, and glue sticks. Legos. My youngest has been playing quietly for couple hours now with an old calculator, pad of paper and pencil. She keeps taking my "order", lol Good luck. Watch your back!

I was thinking Rubio too. If Romey pairs up with Christie, ABO becomes much less appealing

Primary Arms micro dot vs Aimpoint
Wingshooter replied to Wingshooter's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
This is the kind of info I was looking for. Thanks everyone. Thanks Dolomite for the offer to shoot the Millet! I'll keep that in mind the next time I am up that way. I wasn't familiar with that sight, but it looks really nice. I can see how the auto sensing would be helpful, and it's a feature I had not considered. Good to know it holds up well. I'll have to take a closer look at this one. -
Traveling out of the state with HCP
Wingshooter replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
There is no requirement to inform each state ahead of time (at least as far as I know). Check to make sure each state you enter has a reciprocal agreement with TN. You can do this by checking the TN website http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/reciprocity.shtml and the visiting state's website. Each state has different laws and you have to abide the particular state that you are in. For example, just because TN does not require you to inform an officer if pulled over, the other state might (Ohio). There are a couple of sites that have each state's particulars listed, but verify their info for accuracy yourself. http://www.handgunlaw.us/ http://opencarry.org/maps.html -
I sometimes use a Don Hume IWB for my HK USPc. It conceals pretty well if I wear a good belt. I'm kind of skinny I guess, lol

Excellent write up! thanks. I have never cast bullets, but I used to help my grandfather cast fishing weights. I still have all the tools he used. I would like to start casting 44mag if I can find some time.

Primary Arms micro dot vs Aimpoint
Wingshooter replied to Wingshooter's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
It seems like it would be apples to oranges based on the price, but what makes it so in actual comparison? The larger field of view is something I hadn't really taken into consideration, but that's something to think about. I get that the Aimpoint is "military grade" and should last longer, but I have not heard of anyone having a PA fail. I have the funds to spring for an Aimpoint, but that would put another planned purchase on hold. Thanks for the input. -
Haha, a few more nights alone out in the tent, and I'm sure Glenn will come to his senses, lol

Are you Registered To Vote?
Wingshooter replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think anyone disagrees that Rp has received unfavorable media attention, but voting for him in the general as a third party/write-in won't teach the media any lessons. If votes are diverted away from ABO in November, the MM wins. -
I am looking at new optic choices for my flat top AR15. I have been undecided between an Aimpoint Micro H-1 or Eotech XPS2. Now I am really torn because I keep hearing good things about PA. If i go with a PA, it would be nice to put the $400+ saved towards another purchase or ammo. This rife is a range gun, but it's also part of my SHTF plan. I want something good and reliable. I am a firm believer in you almost always get what you pay for, but I also know that sometimes you pay for a name. Is PA trust-your-life-to-it quality like aimpoint and eotech, or is it better suited for range/plinking purposes only? Who's had good/bad experiences with Primary Arms Micro Dot?

I think you can buy a good AR as cheap or cheaper than you can build one. The benefit to building is being able to spread the costs over time, learning something new, having something very custom, or all of the above. About as cheap as I would go for an upper build ($486 with a BCM bolt): Upper Receiver $100: http://www.bravocomp...r%20-m4%202.htm Basic charging handle $22: http://www.bravocomp...ndle%20ar15.htm 16" Bushmaster Patrolman's Carbine - M4 Type Barrel Assembly $225: http://www.bushmaster.com/products.asp?cat=7 BCG $139: http://www.bravocomp...20auto%20mp.htm

I caught that part of it, but I still wouldn't push the ladies away. Maybe he just needs to learn to focus on the task at hand
