Gun range receives alcohol permit
Wingshooter replied to strickj's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"Powder Springs" appropriate name. If they add a smoke shop the BATF would have one-stop shopping. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2 -
Don't they believe that they cannot make it to Paradise and their virgins if they handle or ingest swine? Maybe we should dip the boolits and bombs in pig's blood first then publicize it, like General Pershing.

This would be my biggest concern. Before you borrow a friend's gun for the class, make sure it is at least as reliable as your 45. You don't want to be the guy that can't enjoy the shooting because your gun keeps jamming. Personaly, I would take my own 45 and enjoy it, but it's really your choice.

What's the concensus on the validity of Rasmussen polls? I never seem to compare there predictions AFTER the election, so are they accurate? If so, it looks at least hopeful for the Romney camp http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive/2012_electoral_college_scoreboard. If not, I found this (although this is a left-wing site) thttp://electoral-vote.com/evp2012/Pres/Maps/Aug04-noras.html Some other electorial maps... http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/2012_elections_electoral_college_map.html http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2012/ecalculator#?battleground http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/romney-vs-obama-electoral-map http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2012-presidential-race

I wouldn't either. My gun is to protect me and my family, not my truck. I'm not saying I would sit back and watch someone take it if I could do something about it ( ), but I wouldn't use my gun unless the thief was a threat. In this story, I would say the shooter will be lucky if he is not charged unless there are other circumstances.

Top Five Annoying Habits Of Reloaders

That's not a bad idea.... -
Nice cat, KahrMan. I am having a hard time finding someone to use for my cat. That's why it's still in the freezer, I guess. Anyone ever use Lonewolf Taxidermy? http://www.lonewolft...com/photo2.html Also, Wilderness Taxidermy just over the mountain in NC seems to have a lot of experience with cats. Their pricey, but I'll give them a call tomorrow. http://www.wildernesstaxidermy.com/

I can't wait. Soa, Walking Dead and Shark Week on Discovery are about the only things I ever get into on TV. Should be an interesting start tonight Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2

I still have a bobcat in my freezer that I got back during the season. He has been well insulated, so I hope it is still in good shape. Time goes by so fast! Who does good work in TN on bobcats? I know they can be tricky, and I have seen some freaky (weird) looking bobcat mounts. I don't mind traveling some distance to get to a good taxidermist (even GA or KY). I just want someone that does good work on them and has a portfolio of bobcats to look at. Who do ya recommend? Thanks.

Here's why I think Romney wins. 1) Obama really energized a lot of people in 2008. A lot of people voted for him because it was "making history" and he was a young, entergetic choice promising the moon to everyone. A lot of people turned out to vote that normally don't because they were electing the first black president. Well, history has been made, and 2012 is not as glamorous. Will he get the voter turnout? I don't think so. On the other hand, a lot of people are motivated to vote obama out this time around. Will Romney get a good turn out from those that want obama to loose? I DO think so. 2) Obama is good with the teleprompter. He made McCain look pretty sad in the debates. Obama has a record now, and I think Romney will hammer him on that during the debates (at least I hope so). 3) Fuel prices are trending upward again and unemployment is still high. I think it will be a nail-bitter down to the last state, but I look for Romney to pull it off.

Also, keep letting our lawmakers know that you support the FFDO program when they try to cut it (like obama did earlier this year). It may not help with the TSA's searches, but we need the FFDO program to stay active. 9/11 may have had a very different outcome if this program was in place at that time. http://www.startribune.com/politics/statelocal/165371216.html?refer=y WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack is challenging the Transportation Security Administration and the White House over potential cuts to a program that arms airline pilots as the last line of defense against hijackers. As part of its Department of Homeland Security budget, the U.S. House this summer passed a Cravaack amendment that would increase funding for armed-pilot training by $10 million. The Republican-backed House bill takes aim at the TSA and White House proposal to slash funding by half, a move spurred by one key fact: No pilot has used a gun on an airplane in the decade since Congress approved the program. During his time as a commercial pilot for Northwest Airlines, Cravaack, R-Minn., says he packed a pistol as a member of the Federal Flight Deck Officer program. As he pushes for a boost in funding, Cravaack has spent the spring and summer telling his colleagues in Congress that trained, armed pilots are a necessary security backstop. "Ultimately, they are the ones that are going to stop the terrorists," Cravaack told a crowd during a speech at the Heritage Foundation this spring. The showdown between the Minnesota congressman and the TSA illustrates the tense debate over which federal programs created in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks should stick around. "It's been a controversial program since it started," said Jeff Price, an aviation security expert and aviation professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As part of the legislation that created the TSA, Congress approved the armed-pilot program less than a year after terrorists hijacked and crashed several commercial airliners. The number of program participants is classified, but Cravaack maintains that armed pilots outnumber federal air marshals and are far less expensive.

As an airline pilot, I deal with the checkpoints every time I go to work. I'm not really sure what the answer is to true airline security... profiling rather than political correctness might be a start. I'm not going to mention any details about the current process, except to say it's a pain.

One thing to think about though is the size of the "dot" create by the fiber optic tube. The HiViz claims an oversized diameter, whereas the Truglo is smaller I think. Check out the MAGNUM GLO•DOT™ XTREME SERIES on Truglow's site. IT fits a vent rib. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/truglo-glo-dot-xtreme-series-standard-mount-1-4-rib-width-red.aspx?a=507693 It's just personal prefereance, but the bigger dot might be too bright in low light and distract from the target. The smaller dot might allow more natural shotgunning. Just something to consider.

I havn't been able to check the brand of mine yet (traveling for work). Maybe Wednesday I'll post up a pic of my 870 with the sight. I don't think you will go wrong with that one though for the price. It gets a 4.6 out of 5.0 with 94 reviews on Cabellas site. If it doesn't stick while you're shooting the birds, there's always duck tape

It could be. Malmutes are huge dogs. Here's a pic of one...

It's markings are very similar to the red wolf. Specifically, I'm looking at the black down the tail to the tip, the black on the sholders and the white front legs. Although, a hybrid could still have similar markings. I've had huskies before, but this looks a little different. A red wolf pic...

I recently attended at funeral in MD, I had to do some aggressive driving just to stay in the procession without getting cut off. I do love the South. Welcome to TN! Other things I like... people tend to move over to the left when you are merging on a highway. Also, people move over to the left if able when passing a vehicle on the shoulder (actually the law now I think). That didn't always happen when I lived up North. AlGore calls for end of Electoral College
Wingshooter replied to MattCary's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The libertarian party must feel they are more like the R party otherwise they would be trying to speak at the D convention. If that's the case, wouldn't future reform towards the L party be easier if the R's win? An R or a D will be elected this time around... that will be fact. Back to the EC topic, I just thank God that Al didn't put that idea into obama's head during his first two years of presidency. Otherwise he would have rammed it through too or simply attached it to the healthcare bill. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2 -
I put one on the the same 870 last year. I don't have access to it right now and can't remember the brand. I'll check it tomorrow, but I think it's a truglo. It has a flat base with a notch at one end that snaps under and around the original bead. There is an adhesive to keep it tight to the vent rib. So far I have fired a couple of boxes of 3" Nitro Turkey, a couple of 00buck shells, and a box or two of 3.5" steel through it. It's still holding. I don't think it will last forever, but it seems sturdy enough. Worst case is it falls off and I still have the bead. I'll check the brand and model soon as I can EDIT: Now that I've searched the net a little bit, mine might be a HiViz. It was pretty cheap from Sportsmans Warehouse.

The difference is Romney seems to know there is a problem that needs fixin'. Obama seems to enjoy taking credit for making it worse. Again, Romney is not my first choice, but he's a lot better than obama. Third party is a vote for obama, so I'll vote Romney/Ryan.
