If I was a Romney voter in one of those precincts, I guarantee I would be on the news because of all the noise I'd be making. There HAS to be some Romney votes in there. This reeks of criminal voter fraud. Where is the outcry ? If our elections can be openly stolen without reprimand then our freedom is already gone.
LOL. I just feel bad to hit it. And then display its rack. See I am one that hunts for food not a sportsman. I feel I did the right thing and didnt waste its meat ( i spent over an hour looking for him tho to my embarrasment, he was right where I hit him 2 feet away in a ditch, but weeds were high and never saw him). Yeah its gonna cost me a $100 deductible to get my truck fixed. But I still feel bad for not taking him in a hunter be hunted fashion. Thats why I thought it'd be bad kharma to mount him. Though I didnt want to mount him as a display, my son just said it would be cool to mount him upside down hang it in his room so he could hang his .22 rifle and his hats on the rack. Maybe Im over thinking it.
Accidents happen. I'd say you erased the bad karma by finding him and saving the meat. I would display the rack, it's a nice one. Why didn't 94 million Americans vote?
Point is this: If a law blocks ONE. ONE. ONE VALID VOTE, did it disenfranchise the voter? It is starting to be proven, and the courts are starting to decide, voter ID laws block valid votes. Blocking valid votes, from valid voters is disenfranchising. In most cases, this so called rampant multi-voting, or fake voting, is limited, or simply is not an issue. And again. If you block a legitimate vote, did you do harm? I say, yes.
How does having to show id block a "valid vote"? The ID is what validates the voter thus the vote. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 -
Aquaponics for food souce???

Thanks Lions fan, that helps a lot. One more thing, is it feasible to have that ibc setup inside my barn under artificial grow light, or will this work better out in the sun? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 -
For your purposes I think I would go with a heavy carbon arrow. Might not be quite as fast as a smaller carbon but would be a durable arrow that would be resistant to getting bent/ shattered. If you aren't familiar with carbon arrows about the only way you can hurt them is to shatter them. The only one I ever shattered I shot into a concrete wall.
Heavy arrow is good suggestion. It also soaks up more energy and therefore less wear and tear on your bow limbs Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

I keep a field bow press (really just a strap that can be tightened) and a couple if extra strings handy. Octane, stone mountain and Winner's Choice are all good strings. There are several other good ones, too. Keep them waxed and they'll last a long time. I would choose carbon arrows over aluminum Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

Aquaponics for food souce???
The FFA chapter I belonged to had one of these setups and I maintained and expanded that system for 3 years. It works great, but it is a full time job on the fish side. Even with auto feeders and almost everything automated we still had to work 5-6 hours a day checking ph, harvesting eggs, seperating male and females, and getting out the aggressive fish. even with the natural filter of the plants we still had to drain and refill the tanks because the PH was getting toxic and additives were not working fast enough. We did it on a very large scale and sold the fish wholesale and had huge plant sales 3 times a year. It may take a while to get the right setup, but once you do it should work great.
Sounds like a lot of work at least on a large scale. I suppose just one fish tank and one garden bed would be more manageable. What kind of fish did you use? Tailapia? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 -

I've been researching Aquaponics.I didn't find it here with a search, and It sounds like an interesting food source should things get rough. Has anyone heard of this or have any experience with it? I've just recently heard about it. The way I understand, it involves a closed system of two tanks. One tank has fish and the other plants. The waste from the fish fertilizes plants. The plants filter the water that is then returned to the fish. The cycle continues. The system can be powered by DC batteries and solar panel. It's a little more complicated than just planting a seed in the dirt, but this system uses the same water to grow a lot of plants very quickly. It can also be accomplished in a small space. Plus, the fish can be eaten as they reproduce. Seems like it could sustain a family or more for long period of time. It might be worth a try anyway. I'm interested to know if anyone has tried this and if it would serve as a viable food source. Here are some links.... Why didn't 94 million Americans vote?
Because the greatest thing about living in a free country is the choices. I have some friends that hate both parties, and would rather not, in their words, "contribute to the problem". I voted but sadly I voted against Obama more than I voted for someone.
I hear people say that, too and that they did not want to be responsible for the outcome. However, one could say that the 94 million people that did not vote resulted in obama getting 4 more years. Their lack of desire to have a say in the election indeed HAD A SAY IN THE ELECTION. Millions of potential Romney voters stayed home so now those that didn't vote still get to deal with obama. Romney was not my first choice either (I still voted for him), but I don't understand how so many people stayed home thinking that one was just as bad as the other. There's no way romney could have screwed things up more than obama has or will. No decision IS a decision in my book. -
The most bizarre messed up news article I have ever read

As a kid I remember the little rhyme (pretty sick, actually) with the dandelion flowers where you would wrap the stem around the flower and pop it off. The rhyme was "Momma had a baby and it's head..... (you remember the rest). I always wondered where that came from, why? It's sick to even think about it, but I wonder if this sort of thing happened from time to time before C-section deliveries were accepted as an alternative or before ultrasounds came along. Thank God for modern medicine. Too bad the doc in this case didn't practice it. -
You can get good sweet tea at any restaurant! I moved here about 10 years ago. I live in the East part of the state near the mountains. I have lived in a few Northeast states (MD, OH, MI, VA), KY and here. I have to say that KY is a close second, but I prefer TN. There is no state income tax or personal property tax. Sales tax is high, but you can control that with your spending habits. Costs me about $28 to get tags on my car every year. The things I like the most are people 'round here are generally polite and courteous. The terrain is beautiful. I like the school systems for my kids where I am. Good river/lake fishing. Good hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and black bear plus other species. Short winters. We get an occasional snow sometimes in Dec, Jan or Feb but not every year. I have met all of my local elected reps at church before. If you drive a pickup truck down a country road, everyone will wave at you . Did I mention sweet tea? Of course there are things that I dislike, such as paying $10 for a background check to buy a firearm, etc, but the good far outweighs the bad. Wecome! You'll enjoy it here.

As I read these kinds of reports, all I can think of is how quick obama was during the second debate to say he would sign a ban if it was brought to him. He almost seemed proud to say it, and there is no question that he will explore all avenues to restrict our freedoms. He will not stand in the UN's way if they want to do his dirty work.

Suggestions for dealing with trespassers?
Wingshooter replied to Raoul's topic in Hunting and Fishing
You could setup an IR trail camera on where they are entering. make sure there is no flash and make it hard to find. This will give you evidence and a pattern (maybe tag number). Then get the advise of the sheriff or game warden. They'll help you out. Of course if you catch then out there even better, but be careful confronting them. I would still involve law enforcement -
UN ARMS TREATY AGAIN ALREADY?!?!?!
Wingshooter replied to jaxjohn419's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I wish the conservative members of the house and senate would counteract this nonsense by starting to introduce their own far-right legislation. Keep the liberals on the defensive instead of offense. let's start with term limits. When that gets debated and eventually shot down, have something else to introduce... maybe introduce the fair tax. None of this stuff would actually pass, but it would promote gridlock (the best we can hope for at this point). We need to keep the liberals busy for the next 4 years by actually introducing worth while bills. Edit to add: on second thought, a worth-while bill may be just what they need to attach an AWB to. I'm just not sure how our problem gets fixed from here. -
I carry and shoot mine a lot. I've never had a problem with it, and I like it. It's not the most comfortable gun to shoot, and occasionally my hand will bump the mag release if I'm not careful. I think it's a good 9mm for deep concealment and it disappears in an IWB holster. One thing that really bugs me about it is that night sights are not available to my knowledge because of the way the front sight is constructed. I actually like the sights although they are cheap plastic (just wish I had the option to switch them out with night sights). Mine is freakishly accurate with 147gn HP's
Of course that will never happen. Want to know how I know? Because I KNEW it would never happen back in 1994. I KNEW that socialized medicine would never pass. And I KNEW that there was NO WAY that the populous would re-elect an obvious marxist to the highest office in the republic. See how much I know?
I'm with ya. This train is running away fast, and it makes me sick. Our chance to stop obama's destruction of America came and went. ugh -
I would have to say ammo and mags first
-
It's not fear mongering... just being a good squirrel. I find myself reluctant to go to the range now because I don't want to use up ammo.
-
here we go. They are so full of it... "The United States has denied it sought to delay negotiations for political reasons, saying it had genuine problems with the draft as written."
-
I'm glad I've been investing in lead
-
Many seemed to believe that obama and romney were the same and it didn't matter who got elected... the market disagrees. A moot point now, though.
So... it's over.
Unless God changes things (He can), I don't see how we ever undo 8 years of Obama. Our children will not have the same America we did.
