Walmart in Cleveland has 2 AR's in stock and said no plans to stop selling them (as far as the clerk knows anyway)

I haven't watched any of it either. I have only read a couple of news links that were posted initially here on TGO. That was enough for me. However, this whole tragedy has been heavy on my mind. Saturday morning, I felt like I was waking up after having a bad nightmare, but it was real. Sick and horrific event. My 5 year old had a school play Friday night, and all I could think of were those kids and families. My heart and prayers go out to the families. As for the question of the thread... I don't think the media should be made to stop covering it (First Amendment and all), but I do think that they should stop. The crazies do this stuff for the attention. If the media would just report the facts of the story and then give the soap opera type drama a rest, they might just stop fueling repeat murders. This guy is getting the attention he may have been looking for.
This, however, isn't the root of the problem. I see the direct correlation between this country turning it's back on God, and the degredation of our society. I'm not a very religious person but I completely agree with this. We were a better society when everyone went to church and had strong Christian values. Times are a changing.
And I pray America will return to those times. posted from my phone
Hate to say if but this is going to be used as the beginning to the end of gun ownership. Once small children have been killed emotions take over. This was the same type of event in both Australia and England for their sweeping gun control. I hope it doesn't but I suspect this might be too much. Dolomite
Unfortunately I think u are right. posted from my phone

Sickening and plain stupid. I have 3 little ones myself and I cannot even fathom the grief so many families must be experiencing and right before Christmas. God help the families and protect all our kids in the future. posted from my phone
That's what we need! How is the DLP brightness compared to an lcd in your house?
It's been great. I Have not needed to change the bulb yet in over a year. Our living room is about 25x30 with windows on both sides, and we don't have any problems with tv or movies. Now on Xbox games (Halo and COD), I find myself turning the brightness level up a bit. My set is a Mitsubishi. It's the second DLP that I have owned (the first was a Mitsubishi 60" 730p DLP and it still works fine after several years). I agree with the previous "plasma in a dark room" statement (I have one in my bedroom). However, a DLP is a great way to get a really big high def tv for a better price. An LCD or plasma will be brighter. The DLP still has great depth, color and contrast, and it's not to dark in our room posted from my phone
You might want to consider TigerDirect. I get their Daily Deal newsletter. It's usually computers and laptops, but sometimes it's a tv. They have a $1,400 Samsung 60" for $847 with no tax and free shipping. Personally, I wouldn't go out in the Black Friday mess, but to each his own... maybe if it were half price... Oh, by the way, I think Insignia is the Best Buy store brand. I don't know who makes it for them. I was told when I bought my tv, but I can't remember. We bought a plasma because the blacks were really black... big mistake. It looked great in the store, but we have a well lighted room with lots of windows and the picture is almost invisible on a sunny day until we close the curtains.
I second that. Tigerdirect is great. I got a 72" DLP 3D 1080P for $800 delivered about a year ago (still running great). I also buy a lot of computers there. I use monoprice.com for all the cables, mounts and connections. posted from my phone

Sounds all too familiar to me! I also walked out of a Toyota dealer in KY a few years ago when I wanted to buy a 4 runner, lol. It wasn't over an arbitration agreement for me, but the finance guy's tactics. We left there and went across the street and bought a jeep grand Cherokee. I feel your pain. It's frustrating. Good for you for not signing that posted from my phone

Not me, I love this time of year. Especially Christmas (it has nothing to-do with presents though). I do agree that the Christmas theme shouldn't begin until after thanksgiving, though. posted from my phone

Some people claim that you should change a compound bow string every couple of years no matter what, but I have used strings for many years in a bow before. If it doesn't look frayed, dry rotted or broken, it is probably ok. With that said, I would change it and keep the current string as a spare. If you choose to shoot it, be sure to inspect the contact points (around the cams, arrow knock, etc.) and wax it. If it breaks, it could cause serious injury. If at all possible I would change it and not take the chance. posted from my phone

You can miss most from the 15 yard line and still pass (barely) all shots onside the seven are concidered combat effective on a standard B27
I qualified with some headshots mixed in. With all of the talk about civil unrest and secession...
My 2 cents: These people (hopefully) are just letting off steam. It is so easy these days with the internet to do a Rage fest, and not have any major repercussions, except may be having a few people block you on Facebook. That said, how unpatriotic of you. And stupid. YES, STUPID. A. SINGLE. VOTE. Did not go the way you wanted? And you want to THROW AWAY THE WHOLE COUNTRY? How stupid is that? Stop saying these things, it shows you are unable to control your anger. And you are unrealistic, at best, stupid and unpatriotic at worst. Donald Trump is the present day P.T. Barnum. He is in it to make money off of it. Ignore the hair.
What's stupid is the total disregard for our freedoms by this administration and they just get away with it! What do you call the people that are willing to look the other way while it happens? It's more about the continuation of destructive policies than the election itself. -
Instead of a bunch of states seceeding, can we just put out DC, CA and a couple of other liberal states? Seems easier since we like the Constitution and all.

Sounds like some Pennsylvanians need to get concerned and have an 'Occupy Philly" party until some answers come out of the governor's office. Oh wait, that's prob guarded by panthers
Are there any other quality manufacturers out there that don't mark their barrels in some shape or fashion?
I was wondering that too. All of my others have been marked, but this is the cheapest bbl I have bought. Couldn't pass up the sale on election night, lol
or set up a new ground blind somewhere, not giving the deer a chance to get used to it, but play the wind right.
I would do this, or better yet use a portable climber. It's opening morning, and the deer are probably in their normal routine unless there has been a lot of scouting or Muzzleloader/bow hunting.

Cool, thanks. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a requirement to have a caliber marked somewhere. First one I have bought like that with no markings. Also good to know about mixing

I just received a new mid length AR barrel from Alpha Shooting Sports (on sale for $99 BTW). Everything looks fine except there are no markings at all on the barrel. Is that normal for them? Paperwork says 5.56 just like I ordered but zilch on the bbl. My lower is stamped "multi". Is that a problem for no caliber information to be marked anywhere on the gun?
