I would take my 10/22 for the reasons others have mentioned. I would also have my Condor Golok machete with me. It's fast, light and sharp. I would leave Atlanta and head for my property in East TN that I own. It's only about 40ac but has a wooded hill, a spring and good neighbors. I would try to avoid the highway if I thought it was necessary.

True. Maybe it's time to look up some addresses from Blue-er States and end a message (or more) "on behalf" of their constituents. :stir:

I have a lot of learning ahead of me, but I'm anxious to get started.

I hope you're right. I know a guy that is not into guns at all, and he thinks an AWB is stupid and political games. There is hope.

Thanks, I'll check out that mold. I didn't really word my previous post very well. I know not to put the pointy ones in a tube, but I guess I was just wandering if a tube magazine works as well as a bolt gun with cast boolits. I keep thinking of the soft lead deforming, but it sounds like the water quenching would take care of that. I didn't really consider using a flat point in my '06, so that type of mold will get me in the casting game with both of those rifles. It's out of stock at MidwayUSA, so now I just have to find it. All excellent info!
I make the point all the time, no matter who I am talking to that I don’t hunt and I don’t kill animals for sport; that shouldn’t be a requirement for my families protection. But I doubt many hunters are standing on the side lines thinking this will not impact them. I would much rather face a shooter with an AK than a shooter with a scoped Remington 700. The only “Military†weapon Charles Whitman had was an M1 Carbine, but I would bet his scoped Remington 700 “hunting rifle†did much more damage than the M1. The Dems are going to do their best to divide gun owners. They will do their best to make the hunters feel safe. It's up to us to hang together, and make sure it's known that they are the enemy of all gun owners.
Exactly. Hunters that don't really think this will affect them need to know that this is dramatically different than 1994. All guns are at risk with this posted from my phone

I think it's time to start using their style tactics ourselves against them. Pro-gun writters should start throwing bolt action and lever action rifles onto the list whether that is what is proposed or not. It would be bad for our blood pressure to read it, but we NEED to get the "bolt-action hunters" that don't care about AWB fired up. Would that be dishonest? No, I don't think so because those will be next!

If they get this, I am certain that the list would grow

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the raging liberal the one that needs the most coxing. Otherwise we are just preaching to the choir. I think you should "bother" that liberal. Tell him how you feel!!! and do it often. Let him know that he WILL loose your vote. If he gets enough of those, he might soften his position. just sayin'...

Ok, I ordered the Lyman cast bullet handbook. Just waiting on shipping now. I want to go ahead and pick up up a rifle caliber mold though. I am debating 30-30 or 30-06. Is one easier or better for casting than the other? I am thinking 30-30 might be more prone to deformation in the tubular magazine of a model 94, or does it matter?
There is a field full of goats down the road. I have money, a good knife, and a smoker. I even have a way to get the goat, even though they run much faster than me. :)
Milk and meat all in one furry critter. One-stop shopping. Win-win posted from my phone -
If a few pro-gun Reps would recognize this, maybe they would start introducing one big bill after another. Bills that would be popular enough to gain support but controversial enough to tie up the chambers... term limits, Flat Tax, etc.

If I make it to the show tomorrow, I would like to pick up some small rifle primers from you. Do you still have a good supply of those left?

I have been keeping this thread in the back of my mind since Caster created it. Great info! I recently picked up a Lee TL356-124-2R 9mm mold. It is .356 RN 124gr with 2 ogive radius. So far I have only reloaded one caliber (30-06 factory bullets), so I am a noob at reloading, too. Of course with the factory bullets, you have reloading data. Where do I start for reloading data on hand cast bullets? Does Lee publish data somewhere or do I just find a similar bullet design and weight in my Speer manual and go from there? Maybe I'm over-thinking this....
