What's your plan of attack tomorrow? "If it's Brown, it's down" or do you have standards? Mine will be to take anything that's not a fawn or doe with fawns (done that before... never again). Once I get my "meat deer", I'll get picky.

good catch! Thanks for the reminder. I'll look at mine too

I'll have a hard time sleeping tonight like I always do before a hunt and be dead tired in the AM... Can't wait!!! I never got my cam out for the stand I plan to hunt. There has been zero human activity near the area since spring, but it was a hot spot last year. I hope they're still there! Natural funnel near a bedding area.

House plans to vote on de-funding obamacare
Wingshooter replied to Wingshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, that's true. I should have clarified that... the cloture vote. However; I have viewed a vote for cloture to be a vote for obamacare since they knew full well that their vote would allow it's passage. I won't cut either one of them any slack on this. I am sorry to admit that I voted for both of them last time. They have both LOST my vote. Joe Carr!! -
House plans to vote on de-funding obamacare
Wingshooter replied to Wingshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
From SenateConservatives.com Fellow Conservatives: Earlier today, the United States Senate voted to fund Obamacare. There were 25 Republicans who betrayed their principles and voted for cloture, giving Democrats the power to implement this terrible law. This is a disappointing loss, but the bill now goes back to the House where Republicans must hold their ground and refuse to fund Obamacare. Here are the 25 Senate Republicans who voted to allow Harry Reid (D-NV) and the Democrats to fund Obamacare today: Lamar Alexander (R-TN) John Cornyn (R-TX) Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) John Barrasso (R-WY) John Hoeven (R-ND) Roy Blunt (R-MO) Johnny Isakson (R-GA) John Boozman (R-AR) Mike Johanns (R-NE) Richard Burr (R-NC) Ron Johnson (R-WI) Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) Mark Kirk (R-IL) Jeff Chiesa (R-NJ) John McCain (R-AZ) Dan Coats (R-IN) Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Tom Coburn (R-OK) Lisa Murkowksi (R-AK) Thad Cochran (R-MS) John Thune (R-SD) Susan Collins (R-ME) Roger Wicker (R-MS) Bob Corker (R-TN) LEADING THE SURRENDER There were a lot of people who worked against us in this fight, but nobody worked harder to fund Obamacare in the Senate than Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Republican Leader. Mitch McConnell pressured several Republicans to withdraw their names from the letter pledging to oppose Obamacare funding, he falsely accused conservatives of supporting a government shutdown, and he actively encouraged Republicans to support cloture this week so the Democrats could fund Obamacare. If Mitch McConnell had not opposed this effort, there is no question that we would have won the vote today. He showed that he has clout in Washington. Unfortunately, he used it to hurt millions of American families. -
Truckers to shut down DC for 3 days starting October 11th?
Wingshooter replied to a topic in General Chat
At the rate this government's going, it may not be long before DC finds itself with a consistent riot inside the Beltway. -
Lol. I haven't done that yet, but I might give it a try when I get bored this season.

I have to watch or I will take enough stuff on a quick afternoon hunt to survive a zombie apocalypse, lol. I like my gear and gadget, so I have to try hard not to over do it :)

That's a shame it's frozen. PB blaster is good stuff though, so maybe it will free up.
-
That's cool! Is the cylinder and other workings frozen up with rust, or is it free?

He has a cool pattern and bright green against the black. I wish I would have had a better camera handy. I hope that's the last snake I see for a long time though. I moved him to the field behind my house.

I think you're right. I searched for pics of baby kingsnakes, and this one looks similar. Thanks. I don't claim to know much about spiders or snakes, lol.

I almost stepped on this little guy on my porch. I know it's not one of the venomous types, but what kind is it? It's color is black with zombie-green stripes and belly.

He's probably duck taped and hidden in a closet somewhere at the radio station.

Ted Cruz just ran out the clock!!!

A pretty good write up on where everything stands right now for anyone left scratching their head: -
Ted Cruz just ran out the clock!!!
Wingshooter replied to Luke E.'s topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think it was designed to fail. That way, when people are hurting the most, the government can swoop in and "fix" it with a single-payer system. It's what they really wanted in the first place anyway. -

Wingshooter replied to Luke E.'s topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I would be happy if someone would just go ahead and filibuster the House and/or Senate continuously until Election Day 2014. A grid-locked and shutdown government is preferable to one that enacts legislation that destroys the country IMO. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but Ted Cruz has earned my respect. -

They're jealous and want to be like him ;) -

How so? I thought Obama picked this fight by forcing it through in the first place. -

I stayed up way too late last night watching him. Can we trade him for our two? He could do both their jobs better with his eyes closed. -
Ted Cruz was quoting Si, Jayse, Phil and Willie at about 2:30am. I enjoyed it.

House plans to vote on de-funding obamacare
Wingshooter replied to Wingshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, he looks tired. Mike Lee giving him a break now with a long "question". Hooray for Patriots! -
Right, mostly morning and evening unless they're really active. Sometimes I'll run it the whole time if I need it. I keep spare butane and mats with me just in case. The mat will run out first (about 4 hours of continuous use). The cartridge will last all day with continuous use.

How long has he been talking now? -
Thermacell is a must-have item for me. It works great to keep all the little gnats and 'skeeters from buzzing around me. I always use a face net too for an added layer of bug control and to camo my face. I can smell the smoke from it a little sometimes, but it doesn't affect the deer at all from what I've seen.
