  1. Same here. I don't hear much out of them. Maybe they figure I have nothing to give, lol
  2. That's awesome. I have a GoPro that I haven't used much at all. I'm going to give this a try.
  3. Awesome! Congrats!! Did you use the Rage? Meat in the freezer.
  4. I can't believe he let them smash the window like that without dropping it into reverse and plowing right through that mob
  5. I just watched the video again. You know, if he RR would have brake checked the bikes on his bumper during the high speed chase, it may have wiped out the whole group.
  6. I've been trying to figure out the best way to use my GoPro while hunting. I thought about mounting it on my bow. How do you have yours?
  7. Cool. Sounds fun
  8. I would have hit the gas too with that mob trying to get into my vehicle. I would immediately get on the phone with 911 and tell them that I was being chased and in fear for my life. If I had enough fuel, I'd stay on the highway until the helicopters and cops showed up. The name of the game would be to keep the mob from dragging me and my family out for a mauling or worse.
  9. Saw Cruz on Fox a little. I think they're just busy on the House Floor trying to get a bill to Reid. I think they should just keep sending the same one back to him.
  10. Kills me how Reid can reject everything and yet blame the GOP for not compromising. I'd be fine if the House just tells Reid to "shove it" and went home for a month.
  11. I agree. The House needs to kick the same bill right back to them. It should be the same across the board concerning obamacare
  12. That's a good idea. I normally use a ladder stand, and that's my favorite type of stand. Sometimes I'll change things up and try a new place with my climber. Something I do with my climber when I bowhunt from it is to take one of those ratchet-straps and secure the top portion of my climber to the tree when I get situated. That way I can stand up and move around without the top piece of the climber sliding on the tree (I learned this the hard way, lol).
  13. I need to practice more from my stand. I have one setup in the woods behind the house just for practice on a 3D, but what I can't simulate is the heart-thumping adrenalin that comes from the real thing. You hit the deer, so I think you did good. At 15 yards and elevated, hitting high is sometimes desirable if the downward angle causes a lower exit wound. Don't feel like you made a bad shot... You got a pass-through. I think he was just a runner that bled internally.
  14. I thought about putting my Hero Cam on my bow because there have been enough times that I have said, "what just happened?" or "did I hit him?" to warrant an instant replay.
  15. I used http://dsgarms.com/ for some parts on my last build. I found stuff there when I couldn't find it elsewhere. Not necessarily the cheapest, but prices weren't too bad last time I bought.
  16. Thanks, she's feeling better. I shot a doe once right before dark. I waited 30-40mins before tracking. I jumped her up about 3 times as I was tracking in the dark. I found the places where she would lay down and bleed. I ended up finding her about 250yds from my stand. The first time I jumped her she was only about 60yds away. Now I usually wait at least a couple of hours unless I see or hear them fall. You just never know though.
  17. Oh no... irondeer. I hope he's not waiting for you the next time you walk to your stand in the dark, lol.
  18. No, I haven't been out yet. My wife got sick, and my plans got changed this weekend. I might be able to get out Thursday evening. If not, Saturday morning looks like my next opportunity... I can't wait! I know how you feel about sitting all day. It's harder for me than it used to be too. It seems like I always jump a deer when I get down, lol. I get really motivated after the first frost, though. It sounds like you and your arrow did everything right. I think he probably just bled "in" instead of "out".
  19. Actually, I have never tried an expandable. I have always use fixed. I have used Muzzy 100's for the last few years with really good performance. I also like them because they shoot consistent with my arrows. I have a set of dull ones that I practice with, and for me they fly just like a field point. However, my neighbor uses Rage broadheads, and he said he likes them. I prefer not to have moving parts though. Was your broadhead expanded like it should have been with blood on the cutting surface when you found the arrow? Was the O-ring in good shape? I think it's possible that your broadhead may not have opened properly, but I've hit them good before and seen little blood when I thought there should have been more. If it were me, I think I would want to try something different too as long as there is time to get in enough practice with a new broadhead before the next hunt. A lot of people love the Rages, though.
  20. Yeah, they're good. If like years past, thy carry CVA and T/C. I have the CVA Optima with the thumb hole stock that they carry. It has a removable breach plug for easy cleaning, stainless bbl and is pretty accurate. My buddy has the CVA Wolf that they carry... Works well.
  21. Ya did the best you could, and that's all you can do. In fact, you did more than most hunters by putting forth a long and exhausting search. I know it sucks to loose your first deer with a bow... I lost my first one too. If you can go back out tomorrow or next day to observe, you might be able to pin-point a location from buzzards unless you know someone with a hound. However, at these temps, I wouldn't trust the meat though. My brother shot one a few years ago in a swamp. There was no way to follow a blood trail, but we found it two days later under the low canopy of a cedar tree. Yours may still turn up. I hope you didn't pick up any chiggers during your search today... that would be my luck :)
  22. I definitely want a lower. I might take an upper depending on price.
  23. I would go early if you can with some flagging tape. Start where you found the arrow and mark it. From there, I would just work slow and find the next spot of blood. You're arrow passed through, so he's bleeding. The last deer I shot with the muzzleloader, I had to follow the terrain to where I guessed it would run because I never found any blood. I found the deer though. Be persistent and work slow. You'll find him
  24. Wow, you had a long day! Congrats on first contact with your arrow. I lost my first bow-shot deer about 10 years ago, but my arrow only penetrated an inch when it hit the shoulder blade. I know how you feel, but I think you'll find him tomorrow! Two years in a row I shot two does (both double lung shots) from the same stand with a 50cal muzzleloader right before dark. All I found from both deer was just a few drops of blood. I ended up having to go back the next day to find both. Sometimes they just don't bleed. Did your arrow pass through? If you had a pass-through, you got him. Try to get out there by first light though. You're racing the heat and coyotes. Good luck! I didn't even get to go today. Wife got sick last night, and I was needed at home today with the kiddos
