I have this on one of mine. It's held up well with several hundred rounds ejected. For some reason, I'm drawing a blank where I ordered it. I'll let you know when I dig the info up. I don't know if it's really considered a "quality" engraving, though. It has held up well even through a few 3-gun shoots

Can't beat that price. Is the heavier "Auto" BCG better in the Grendel than the "Semi-Auto" one or does it matter? Been wondering about that...

That sounds like a cool build! I am also planning to do a 6.5 and have had difficulty finding a bbl in stock. I want to do an 18" but how much I have to spend at the time will determine the mfg. I've got my eye on the PRI Gen III rifle-length handguard and maybe the PRS stock. For the grip, I'll probably just do a Magpul MOE since that's what I'm used to. I'm going to scope this rifle for long-range work. I have a Leup Mark 4 4.5-14x50 tactical sitting in the safe, so I'll probably use that. The barrel is also my biggest hurdle. I want a high-end one, but the CMP is about to ship my Garand so I have to watch the coins. I'll probably have to wait a while to get the bbl I really want.

I also have an original Viper that is open on the front, but the new Viper SD's have the wrap around bar. It's like the Goliah just a tad smaller. I still use the harness on my Viper SD though 'cause they are definitely comfy. That's good snoozin' on a frosty morning :)

Yep. Their invoice shows me at $625, and it looks like they're still taking orders at that price. I hope it ships out soon!

An update from my order at The CMP.... I placed my order for a SG HRA Garand on 09/03 and it just went "Pending" today on their website. Looks like it might be quicker than the 120-180 I was expecting. I put a note requesting a Service Grade SA if available, so I'm curious what I'll get.

I have a Viper SD. I love it. I'd feel good about paying $200 for one.

I was just checking out the CMP Garand forum. It appears the wait time is improving for Garand orders. I was told 120-180 days when i ordered in early September, but those receiving their guns now placed an order about 2.5 months ago.

I've seen 3 OC'ers around town in the last 2 weeks... Walmart and a restaurant. I don't notice the cc'ers very often though. I sometimes OC a Ruger SBH if I've been working on my property, otherwise I have a Tshirt over a Glock, HK or Keltec (depending on the mood). Now that the weather is turning cooler, I'll prob be carrying the HK USPc more.

I'm about to order a lower and upper. I think I'll pick it up in Oak Ridge since it's only about an hour from me, and I'm up in the Knoxville area often. Where is Law Enforcement Sales in Oak Ridge? Can't find them on Google Maps and can't seem to find an address on their website.
