  1. One thing for certain, what I saw and what the cops said happened didn’t line up in any of the videos.
  2. I watched. Not a whole lot new. Some extended body cam footage. Only two things stuck out to me. One was the paramedics apparent dereliction of duty. They walk up, look at Nichols with flashlights, then tell the MPD lieutenant that Nichols isn’t injured, he’s just high, then suggest MPD transport him to the drunk tank. More than likely the reason the two paramedics were canned. The second thing was one of the MPD officers mentioning to the officers not to say anything due to the body cameras being on, and they would talk about the incident later, then they all started stressing that they were in a fight for their lives with Nichols. In one video, Nichols parents show up to the sight of the traffic stop and calmly explains to one cop that the description the officers gave of the incident seemed out of character for her son, explained that Nichols was not a bad kid, he hangs out in Germantown and skateboards. The mother ask that they do a drug screen at the hospital, because Nichols wasn’t violent, smoked a little weed, didn’t drink or do hard drugs. Pretty much the same calm demeanor the parents have shown throughout this entire situation.
  3. City of Memphis releases new Tyree Nichols videos https://www.memphistn.gov/804367-2/
  4. This keeps getting funnier. My cheeks hurt.
  5. I understand!
  6. I don’t think it’s that deep or nefarious. MLGW uses an extremely minimal amount of solar for residential purposes, because utilities are so cheap in our area. Like most providers, MLGW has failed to maintain infrastructure, and I don’t believe they have any incentive to maintain our water and electric infrastructure. I assume they figure two, at most severe weather events per year doesn’t justify them updating decades old infrastructure. They raise the rates, tell lies about what they plan to do, then throw bandaids on whatever is broken. A little snow in January/February and a little power loss during tornado season doesn’t pressure them to do the right thing. At least MLGW is better than the entire state of Texas when it comes to utilities. Rumor has it, MLGW users are going to experience a rolling blackout tomorrow between 3-9pm. Big fun! https://www.actionnews5.com/2023/08/23/mlgw-determining-feasibility-utility-scale-solar-facilities-2024/
  7. I’ll still be watching. You don’t think they show Reeves pursuing the Texas Ranger?
  8. I’m watching “The Siege” while waiting on the Bills game.
  9. I purchased it on Prime Video, and I watch it frequently. I’m planning on putting a Buttkicker Gamer Plus on my reclining loveseat to watch titles like “Top Gun” , “Braveheart” and “Heat.”
  10. Taylor Sheridan puts out a lot of good work! I’m looking forward to season 2.
  11. I agree Darrell. DeBoer was a wide receiver, and I believe he will pass the ball a lot at Bama if he gets the right qb. I don’t expect Milroe to be the quarterback next season. He holds on to the ball too long to be effective in a solid passing attack. I know it was a business decision for Bond, but I believe Bama would have ensured he received similar NIL money had he taken a call from DeBoer. I’m starting to think Bond would have gone into the portal even if Saban was still there.
  12. This is a very good hire! I’m shocked Bond decided to leave for Texas after becoming a Bama legend with that 4th & 31 catch, and gaining a new head coach who’s definitely going to throw the ball.
  13. I get it, but so many people aren’t familiar with some of the hard truths. So, instead of fully educating themselves, they prefer to blow off the hard truths with snarky comments and denialism.
  14. Good basic synopsis, but the series delves more into the how’s and why’s of certain events in history concerning genocide and colonization. Also, the bad guys who wrote the history never feel bad. Why should they? They still have the power, make the rules and control the armies. I found some of the side stories to be corny, but I understood what they were attempting to convey. Finally, I didn’t post the suggestion to debate why the series was made. I found the series interesting. I also stated that it may not be for everyone. If you’re interested, watch it.
  15. In may opinion, it’s approached in a manner that doesn’t sugarcoat history. There’s some dramatization, but there are also lots of verifiable facts. For example, they touch on the atrocities committed by King Leopold in the Congo. I’ve read about and watched documentaries in the past that gave me the impression Leopold was equal to or worse than Hitler. There’s a story (not in this series) of Leopoldo’s men forcing natives to tie ropes around their bodies and swing from a cliff using vines, across a valley to another cliff in order to build a bridge. If the natives were afraid, they were executed on the spot. There’s a lot going on, and I don’t feel like I can adequately explain the series by typing a few words here. For example, they talk about the strategic and tactical advantage tribes had against the English in one battle. A battle that tribesmen might have won in the past when both armies were using smooth bore guns. In this particular battle, the British annihilated the native tribesmen, because the British started employing German made machine guns in battle. The battle wasn’t even close. Again, there’s a lot going on. Also, I’m not a person who avoids certain things on television based upon politics, so I’m not looking for an agenda. I process the information, then form my own opinion.
  16. This isn’t a “must watch”, it’s more something I found interesting. It’s a docu-series on HBO called “Exterminate All The Brutes”, based upon the book by Sven Lindqvist, starring Josh Hart Hartnett and narrated by Raoul Peck. If you’re cool with book banning and history that’s easy on your soul, this series is not for you. The series delves into the history of worldwide colonization and genocide. ‘Episode 3 talks about the invention of gun powder, and the introduction of various guns throughout history. Again, if watching a series about colonialism and genocide takes you out of your comfort zone, this series is not for you.
  17. A few of my memories from when my son was an undergraduate recruiting assistant for Billy Napier. My son said Saban didn’t normally allow the bottom feeders to get a SEC Championship rings. This must have been special to Saban. I blurred out the last name on the ring. Those who’ve interacted with me know it. Unfortunately the G.O.A.T. wasn’t as generous with National Championship rings. I was all over that place, even in Saban’s private office. The coolest thing I saw was the old anti-gravity treadmill they used to get Mark Ingram ready for the natty. It cost a fortune at the time. Those are Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry’s Heisman Trophies. A little off topic, but my son is finishing up his PhD at Florida, and he says Napier is still a down to earth guy after all these years.
  18. If you don’t have any luck here, sign up for notifications from SB Tactical. They seem to restock pretty fast, but they seem to sell out again within 24 hours.
  19. Same here. I was actually thinking about selling some, until I remembered it’s an election year. My family and friends will come looking for me around the middle of summer. Same. I did a temporary move a year and a half ago. I’m still trying to determine where to spend my latter years. I have the ammo and safes squared away, but I still haven’t unpacked all of my accessories. They’re overwhelming my workspace off the garage. I don’t even want to look at that pile of tubs and backpacks.
  20. No problem. You may add whatever you choose. I’ll edit the title. “Nobody “ was a very good movie!

    Christmas

Same with my adult kids. They now prefer cash or gift cards. I don’t require gifts for myself for Christmas, birthday or anniversary. I have everything I want and need. No need wasting that money on me. I’m a giver.

    Christmas

I generally hate all holidays! They are made up, commercialized b.s. that play on people’s emotions in my opinion. It seems that holidays most negatively affect the poor, who go out of their way to participate in events they can’t afford. I hate Valentine’s Day the most, because my wife receives appreciation for my love year around. Very few women are spoiled in the manner that I spoil my wife! I recall sharing the story with you all about telling my kids there was no Santa at an early age, and them telling their classmates what I said and causing a disturbance at their private Christian school. I never recovered from that. I simply wanted my babies to understand that the celebration of Christmas was a symbolic celebration of Jesus, and the gifts they were given came from their parents, not from some stranger who hadn’t made sacrifices to make them happy. It seems like you have reached the point where reality trumps the expectations of society. CONGRATULATIONS!
  23. I don’t recall the name, but a Tennessee representative recently said that we wouldn’t get the entire list, because too many members of Congress are compromised.
