  1. 376 Steyr bolt gun in a prone stock with a box magazine, 16 inch barrel, and open sights and a rail for a reddot. leroy
  2. I spent 35 + years in the construction industry. The unions own the northeast; from the county, state, and municipal side to the construction trades. I say let 'em sit in the dark; since they like the union so much. As others have posted; some of the smarter ones of 'em will do a bit of thinkin about this. The real smart ones will move out of that dammed cesspool. The ones that like it up there can stay up there. I say, let 'em sit in the dark if they want too. leroy
  3. Komandot Bloomberg is the "gift that keeps on giving" for us delightful rustics. What amazes me is that the citizens of New York City seem to like him. Bloomberg is undoubtedly one of the most disgraceful, narcisstic, overbearing, know it all, jackasses that God has ever let live. Evidently the folks up in NYC like that sort of stuff. I hope he decides to be the next candidate for national office for the Demorat party, if the party is left after Nobama. He would be a fitting successor. I think Bloomberg personifies the thinkin that was within the Radical Republican Party during Civil War Reconstruction. He wuz born 150 years too late. leroy
  4. Unlike us geezers, the little man will heal up quick. Let us know how he's doin. Hopin for an extra speedy recovery. leroy
  5. http://moonbattery.com/?p=20154 Thanks to Moonbattery blog.
  6. I've got a fold up Chrony (...the cheap one...). It works just fine. Like Mike said; ya need a tripod to hold it up with. They are handy and settle all the baloney about what what the velocities are. leroy
  7. I dont believe this one is near over; no matter the issue of "orders"; lawful or unlawful. This is a political and diplomatic action (...more correctly, inaction....) that cost the lives of American nationals. This aint goin to go away, and when folks find out the truth of the matter, they aint goin to like it. If this bunch will sell out a diplomat (....who are usually political cronies of those in power...), they will sell anyone out; and most folks understand that, no matter their political affilliation. Contrast what Stupetta and Nobama did here with what the pesky jews did at Entebbe. The military thing is a "red herring". It's disgusting and heinous to us lookin on; but it aint what will ultimately blow this up. The Senate will finally get all the documentation that goes with this and will wear Nobama and Supetta out with it. Ya aint got to have a political science degree and fifty years in the foreign service to figure the thinking (...or lack thereof....) here: "....American lives are not as important to this regeime as currying the favor of our enemies...". The other calculation is just as bad: "...we were overwhelmed and just didnt know what to do...". The first one points to the treasonous and overbearing arrogance of this bunch of sons of satan and illustrates to everyone that at their core; these pukes are anti-american, anti american sovreignty, and anti everything else this country (...and most other countries...) understand to be the norm in international relations. The second (...and i think, most likely one....) illustrates that they are moronically incompetent and completely indifferent to protecting american citizens. Either of these issues will cost them dearly in the end. Imagine what would have happened if this had have happened to the Red Chinese ambassador and a contingent of chi-com marines; or one of komrad Putin's hand picked children and russian marines. This one will have consequences. leroy
  8. One of the potential problems with our system of military command is the precept of "civilian control of the military". If everyone in the chain of command is honorable; it works just fine. If the "civilians at the top" are rotten; the system can appear to be rotten. The last thing this stinkin administration is is "honorable and truthful". I have no doubt that these guys (...the admiral and general...) wanted to do the right thing here. I have every confidence that they were, in fact, sold out by those who could be bought both in the military and the civilian command structure. This one will be interestin to watch. Once these guys retire, the truth may begin to come out. The truth is that this is a big political issue and it wont soon go away. leroy
  9. If the show is the old Smokey Mountain Gun Collectors Show, the show has some great old guys that sell off some of their pets. I always like to look at the individual sellers tables. We've bought some great stuff over the years. Flat top rugers and colt single actions are among the goodies found there. There used to be some great shotguns for sale there too. Ya have to look thru everything to find the good stuff. leroy
  10. Caster:________________ RE: The trigger thing. My problem with glock triggers may simply be me; but they seem to be gritty unless someone works on 'em; and i hate that with a passion. I'm an ole double action smith shooter and im used to a long, smooth trigger pull on double action shooting; and the glock seems to mimic the "long action" thing a bit. The stock glock seems to be a bit gritty; and that's what i dont like. The trigger weight aint nearly the problem that the gritty pull is. I aint sure i completely understand the mechanics of the glock trigger pull thing; but there's lots of things goin on. I have bought the parts and installed 'em; but my trigger fixes are never good enough. I've got a buddy who can fix 'em though. For me, at least, its well worth the few extra bucks for him to go thru them. He does an excellent job. leroy
  11. Caster:____________ I'm a lefty, so the "extended mag release" aggravates me. If you are "lefty", they will be a problem to you. I think that the best mod on a glock is smoothing up the trigger. I've tried it; but cant get it right. My advice is to find one of your buddies that knows how, and let him do it.. The only other mod that the glock needs (...for me, at least....) is a set of good nite sights. My baby glocks shoot better than i can hold. We have a glock 33 (...357 sig...) and a glock 27 (...40 s&w...). leroy PS: stippled grips aint a bad idea if ya like 'em. I like the sandpaper stuff ya stick on that costs about $8 or so.
  12. The 10 mm is a good idea. Plenty of power and firepower (....read that rounds availabile without reloading, in the glock, that is....) in a flat, semiauto pistol. The 10 mm is the closest thing to a "real varmit stopper" that ya can buy in a semiauto pistol. I like all of 'em. leroy
  13. ....Stupid, foolish, narcissistic, petulent children...... leroy
  14. Nobama and company are guilty as sin on this one; and the casual observer can figure it out with just a bit of thinkin. The question is: "...who could, in fact, give the order to abandon and not help?...". Its easily answered. The prez is the commander and chief of our armed forces. Leon Stupetta is the Secretary of Defense; the number two man. There ya have it. Folks that think a bit will always figure this stuff out; regardless of political affilliation. Despite the cries to the contrary by the MSM this has hurt Nobama (...it should....). Moms, dads, husbands, wives, and other ones dear to our military need to take this to heart. These people could give a damn less about the lives of its military personel (...or citizens for that matter...). With them everyting is a deal and everything is for sale.... Who would serve a bunch of trash like this? Folks should take due note of those involved in this whole unfortunate mess and see to it that they vote against any of them that were involved. They are all guilty man; from Nobama, to Stupetta, to Hillary, to any of the rest of the political sons and daughters of satan involved in this sorry administration. leroy
  15. I like the Texas stance; but i believe its posturing too. The good news is that its "good posturing". It is sending a message. It is laughable to anyone with half a brain that a bunch of UN bureaucrats that serve a bunch of totalitarian thugs could monitor anything in the USA and tell the truth about it. I say: "....Let the sons of b****es" watch. They may learn somethin and defect...". leroy
  16. Beautiful stuff. Keep yp the good work!! leroy
  17. It shouldnt be a surprize. This bunch of clowns is just as sorry as semi-humans can get; they are as my 23 year old says: "...beings of lower estate...". They could care less about anything other than their own stinkin hides and political future (...which looks pretty dim to me, at least....). They sold the US consulate out just like they would sell anyone else out. After all, what's one more dead diplomat and a few helpers conpared to the greatness of the Nobama foreign policy fantisy. I fully agree with Mac's disgust; but im not surprized. leroy
  18. Kamandadt Bloomberg is the "Gift that keeps on giving....!!" Maybee it will break him. HEHEHE!! leroy
  19. I think it is hilarious that a harpy like Sandra Fluke is a great spokesperson for the demorat crowd. She embodies everything that most people are not; and that even the kindest of us despise. I hope she keeps helpin these clowns. I say, "....Keep up the good work Sandra!!!...."! leroy
  20. The sig is a great caliber. We have two; a "baby G33" and the compact. They are powerful, accurate, and dependable. The sig is, in fact, what wuz claimed for the 9mm in the 9mm wars of the late 70's and the 80's in which the air force told the army what pistol caliber wuz the best. The 9 mm wuznt it; the sig is. leroy
  21. Take a look at a Galco Summer Comfort. They dont cost an arm and a leg and do a great job on a 1911 type pistol. leroy
  22. Sniper: A couple of things to think about from an ole shotgun and everything else reloader. RE: Shotgun shell reloading. The "real trick" to shotgun shell reloading was handed to me by an old buddy in the reloading business over 35 years ago. It goes like this: .... "Set up your loader to shoot one kind of load; and only one kind. Dont change components after ya get it set up....". We set up our loader (...a MEC 600 jr....) to load AA trap loads, standard velocity, 1 1/8 ounce shot. We used winchester once fired AA's, winchester wads, and red dot powder. To change shotgun loads in a mec (...or any other shotgun loader...) ya have to change the powder bushings. It's an aggravation; and ya cant afford to make a mistake here. My advice. Pick the reaload data ya want to use, the components ya want to use, and reload for them alone. Changing components causes trouble with shotgun shell reloading. Ya may want to take a look at this website to get some ideas on shotgun reloading: http://www.ballistic...FQWe4AodL0sANA. RE: reloading pistol and rifle stuff. Get a single stage press and do a bunch of reading. Reloading for cartridges is a lot more cost effective and somewhat "easier" than fooling with shotgun reloading. I'm sure others will chime in here. Have fun and be safe. leroy
  23. Im old enough to remember this right here: http://www.political...sm-scandal.html ... Biden was not thought to be a serious political candidate in 1988. He removed himself from the demorat presidential primary race as the result of the plagiarism thing. He graduated 76 th in a class of 85 --- hardly a stellar performer... . A clown named Dukakis won the demorat nomination in 1988 and lost in the general election to none other than George H W Bush. By the way, Bush won in an electorial landslide. http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/national.php?year=1988 Joe Biden is a bufoon who has never held a real job. He is the ultimate political insider; and symbolizes all that is wrong with the demorat party and political machine politics in america in general. He is a fitting pick as VP for the first "affirmative action" president. Neither one of them has any notion of anything other than they are the "best and brightest". Folks like us delightful rustics (...read that folks who really have to work and provide for their families without a "quid pro quo" insider deal...) are simply too naive to make the big decisions; and we should leave the "great questions of the day" to them. This, my friends, is the "real" joe biden: .A real political operative. The "best and brightest". Remember, there is election in november; choose wisely. leroy
  24. Check this place out: Address: 2810 Elm Hill Pike Nashville, Tn 37214 Website: http://www.darfonsrestaurant.com It's a nice place and the food is great. leroy
  25. I think Romney will win in a landslide ALA Reagan vs Carter. The polls are lying (...for the most part...), but ya notice they are slowly comming around to the "real forecast". Neither the pollsters (...who actually get paid for asking the right questions the right way....) and the newspaper pundits (....who love nobama, but have to keep some smidgen of truth in their reporting....) can afford to shill for nobama anymore. RE: voter fraud. There will be voter fraud wherever it works (...think the deep blue inner cities here....). I dont think it will mean anything this round; because i believe the turnout for this election will be big. Ya cant steal an election unless the vote is lose. I firmly believe this election is Romney's to loose. Heres hopin. leroy
