  1. Buy without hesitation... These pistolas are a cut above a Glock. GLWS... Wish I had an extra dollar or two and you wuz closer Brother. leroy....
  2. What Mista FUJIMO said ..! I used ta hip pocket carry a commander length 1911 in mine. A baby Glock just disappears in a good pair of overalls... leroy....
  3. Nothin prettier than Fontana Brother. It looks a lot like Norris, only steeper n more remote. Ain't sure about the fishing. Hiwassee looks a lot like Fontana as well... leroy...
  4. Doug Turnbull Restorations... None better. leroy....
  5. Analog... Got bad news for ya Brother... The diesel fuel or vinegar based stuff won't kill woody plants like brush n small trees. Our guys used ta spray em with 2 4 5 T... Nasty stuff. I ain't sure ya can get it anymore, even with the herbicide/poison training. The vinegar based stuff will kill weeds, nothing more... leroy...
  6. I believe we are in a cold war everywhere. The blue inner cities and blue states have been fighting it since the Obama years. Here's hopin it stays cold here in Tennessee. I fear it won't, however... SIGH. leroy
  7. These evil monsters are trying to stir up sympathy in urban areas of Nashville, and Chattanooga by making the legislators look small and cowardly, and their cause look noble. They are banking on the governor keeping a leash on the THP. I think it's a bad gamble... leroy...
  8. Sounds like a bad idea to me... I'ma thinkin " armed security " outside or inside the state grounds is " vigilantism ". The THP has guns too, ya know... watchin leroy...
  9. Please check your IM inbox Brother... leroy...
  10. I tend to agree here. This child who did this crime was insane. Coherent statements from insane folks are very rare. Let the murdered rest, those affected be respected, and the " notoriety " of this calamity be minimized. I'ma thinkin it's kindest thing ya can do... Leroy...
  11. The salt, vinegar, Dawn mix is very akin to what lotsa railroad ROW contractors use for ROW weed spraying. They use glacial acetic acid in place of vinegar and a wetting agent instead of Dawn.. It works well and is biodegradable... leroy.

I'ma thinkin this one has some Fourth Amendment problems... leroy...
  13. Check the news services... The state legislature adjourned without taking up Lee's " Red Flag " proposal... Very interesting... watchin leroy...
  14. Folks... Don't worry about the " reinstatement"... The House makeup is 75 R .... 24D. The " reinstated ones " have been stripped of committee assignments. All they can do is debate n vote... The " R" s have already won. These people can do virtually nothing in the state house. Ya don't need a consultant ta see that... Folks are tending to make them greater than they really are. leroy...
  15. Folks... " Red Flag " laws have been ruled unconstitutional by various federal courts... That said; I would watch the situation; but not be too concerned about this " windbaggery "... Things are hot everywhere and people are watching for any move that smacks of abridging the Fourth Amendment. " Red Flag " laws do that on their face if there is no " due process "... "... The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things ... ..." leroy..
  16. Worth the time to read from Jonathan Turley on Instapundit: APRIL 10, 2023 JONATHAN TURLEY: Democrats Go Nuts in Nashville. “This month, there was an ‘assault on democracy’ in Tennessee. It was not three members halting the legislative process, but rather their expulsion. It appears that nothing says democracy like a bullhorn and obstructing legislative work.” Plus: “The full-throated support for the actions of the expelled legislators is a bizarre position for the Senate president who enforces the same rules in Washington, DC. Yet she was disgusted by sanctioning members who refused to allow their colleagues to continue legislative business because they lacked the votes for a gun control measure. Harris proclaimed ‘it’s about whose voices they were channeling.’ . . . These legislators were upset because they are in the minority and lack sufficient votes to get what they want. They were protesting the democratic process, not advancing its principles in shutting down the floor.” It’s always “democracy” if you’re channeling the voices of Democratic activists; it’s alway “insurrection” if you’re taking the other side. A great, on target assessment I'ma thinkin. leroy.
  17. For those who care, here is the current makeup of the Tennessee State House as of today: 75 Republicans 22 Democrats 2 vacancies. One Memphis ( Shelby), 1 Nashville ( Davidson ). I project the two vacancies will be replaced with the ousted children just as some here have opened. That makes for a 75R/24D state house. Effectively the same as it wuz. There has been a seismic shift in Tennessee politics since about 2008, all caused by the shenanigans of the Democrat party in general. I well remember when TN was a reliably New Deal, moderate Democrat state at the state n federal level. Frank Clement, Ned McWhorter were good examples. Today, the inner city is the only strongholds of the Democrat party in Tennessee. 2 seats.. Knoxville district 15 and 90... ( 90 is G. Johnson's seat ). 1 seat... Chattanooga... District 28.. 12 seats... Nashville ( Davidson county ) district 52 vacant. 19 seats... Memphis ( Shelby county )... 1 seat vacant. The democrats have been decimated in Tennessee, except for the usual spots. Knoxville due to UT and the historic east Knoxville black community. Nashville and Davidson county due to the usual suspects. Memphis and Shelby county due to the old political machine dating back to the 1800s. I wouldn't be too worried about a comeback of the Democratic Party in Tennessee at the state level anytime soon. leroy..
  18. Dear folks... RE: Discussions on the " right way " to handle the " Tennessee Three " If ya zoom out a bit, here's what I see as to this forum discussion and the reality of the political situation. As to the forum: There is one commonality. " What is the appropriate response to the " Tennessee Three " incident..? Some say ignore the hustle n bustle in the state House chamber n simply censure the offenders n remove them from committees. Others say ( like me ), lets treat em as badly as possible under the rules... Make an example. If you will. Notice the responses, they are both for punishment; the discussion is how much is appropriate. As to the political reality here in TN: I believe in my heart of hearts that it is impossible to please or placate those in the news media, those in Tennessee who stir these issues up, those inside and outside TN that oppose the state law that was passed, those in control in the executive branch of the the federal gubt, and others as to anything state gubmts do regarding hardening of schools and expanding gun rights. They are simply against such matters, and their opposition is hardened to the point of no discussion. It is a given that those who oppose legislation inside n outside of the state will howl n make the most political hay they can from the incident in question, but it doesn't last. The important thing, as I see it, is; what do the citizens of TN think..? There are 96 counties in Tennessee and 99 house districts. You have three in ninety nine that rolled the dice n pulled this stunt the other day. At the end of the day, 65 district reps voted to expell these provocateurs. The " Three " voted against the legislation, but it passed anyway. That's how things work in the state house. The subsequent howling by the usual suspects about the alleged shameful treatment of the " Three " had far more to do with the expanding of protections in school than it did about mistreatment of the individuals. I think this is a thunderstorm that will blow over in the next news cycle or two. It simply doesn't matter what those outside TN think about this. They are not voting on this individual state issue. In summary, I think we are dawning on a new political landscape. A landscape of extreme differences. That is what the " Tennessee Three " ushered into the state house the other day. Be ready for the fight and reconcile yourself to the fact that your political foes ain't gonna like you in spite of political differences. You simply will not be able to find common ground on anything on which you disagree. There will be no " agree to disagree " like there is here. It's " Scorched Earth " and " Winner take all "... I wish it wasn't so, but it's my belief that it's here. leroy
  19. Looks ta me like we have a difference of opinion. Knock yourself out... I could care less about their passion. mon carin leroy...
  20. btq... The fact that these three instigated a a mini riot within the Tennessee State House chamber knowing full well it was at the least trespassing, and at its worst an attempted mass intimidation provided the monaker " thug "... All three of these " legislators " know that. Had they been outside, I would pass it off as a " political act "... You do the " political act " thing outside the state House chambers. You debate and legislate inside. As to the " legislators chosen by their communities " thing; it looks ta me like they may have made a mistake in judgement as to who to send. The time to " give voice to the minority opinion " was during the debate before the vote and before the " demonstration "... They well knew that. AS to " words meaning things "; you bet they do. Actions are even more powerful... I'm generally no fan of polititians of any flavor, no matter whether local, state, or federal. This time they accidentally almost did the right thing. If they had have got Gloria Johnson, they would've hit a " Grand Slam ". It simply doesn't matter what anyone outside the state of Tennessee thinks. They can bark n howl, nothing more. This is a state matter. leroy...
  21. Brothers n Sisters... I'ma doubting the booting of these two thugs means anything in the big theme of things. The state legislature was well within their rights to do this under the Tennessee State Constitution. They sent a powerful message to all by expelling these idiots. The message is clear; " cause trouble, get sacked "... The news is all over this because it is, in fact, a bold, decisive, move by the TN State legislature. They love trouble and hate the Red States anyway. The only thing I think that could have been done better, was to round up and charge the miscreants that participated in this clown show event and to have booted that damnable Gloria Johnson as well. She has been causing trouble in Knoxville for a good while. The great Demorat, Lindon B Johnson, the last Demorat I ever liked had a saying:. " If ya want ta get along... Go along "... These three opportunistic pieces of trash were standing on the new made graves of six people, and using thuggery to push a political agenda. They didn't go along, they tried to use the " bully, mayhem, and intimidation " approach. This was basically an opportunistic temper tantrum because their pet legislation wasn't passed. No one should care about em. They are a minority in a majority opposition party state. They can never become the majority with stupid antics like this. I could care less what happens to this trash. Neither should you. The media squalling about the " mean Tennessee State Polititians" destroying " democracy " and unleashes " despotism " is the usual over the caterwauling. Don't worry about it. non worrying leroy...
  22. Wow cool..! A genuine " Coon Hunters Friend "..! Don't know that I've ever seen one that nice... leroy...
  23. I think the key for all men's shirt clothing is to make sure your skirt tail is long enough and about a size too big. That lets the shirt drape over your pistola and completely cover it whether it's IWB or OWB. I'm a Duluth fan as well as Carhartt. As others have opened, your belt needs to be the best ( and most likely the most expensive ) part of your wardrobe, with your holster being a close second. A great gun belt and a solid holster will cure a multitude of other problems if your skirt tail is long and full enough to naturally drape over your pistola and rig. I like the dark colored thing with patterns as well. Think camouflage here. leroy.
  24. Lucky... I am humbled by your kindness. I know you, me, and many others are hoping for the day when this madness ceases. leroy.
