Charlie Rangle don't like Southerners.
leroy replied to Will Carry's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Rangel aint nothin but a blue state jackass demigogue carpetbaggin wannabe that has been hogging the public trough way too long. He is able to say the outlandish and un-american things he says because he is firmly ensconced in a ultra-blue district full of low information "children" who evidently see things the way he does. If i wuz a Darwinist i would point these folks out as an example of "lesser children". They aint evolved too much since the civil war. I say to ole Charlie and his "children": ".... come on down here and take an honest look. Ya might learn a few things ya desparately need to know. Expand your mind. It'll do wonders for you if you are honest...". Im also ok with 'em commin down with vengence in their hearts; but they better be the real thing. The brotherly kindness thing has about worn off with me. southern leroy PS -- Thanks for posting this. I read it this mornin. -
What does the military feel about the erosion of our 2A right?
leroy replied to garethsk's topic in General Chat
To make you all feel a bit better about some of this stuff; ill offer the examples of several of my 23 year old's buddies. Three are USMA graduates and are currently serving. Two are in college ROTC, and soon will be serving. They see things the same way as we do. These young men are the guys that will have to say "no" if anything bad happens like the officer corps did just before the civil war when sides were taken. The 23 year old also has several active duty and former enlisted buddies who are serving or have returned from overseas tours in combat zones around the world. I know these young men personally. No one will take their guns, inter them in a FEMA camp; nor any of their friends or family. I would (...and am...) betting my freedom on them sayin "no". I simply do not believe that any of them would take an unconstitutional order, nor stand by wringing their hands while someone else carried one out. I am very proud of all of them. They are the future. leroy -
Knoxville Police Looking at New Pistols
leroy replied to Moped's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bein and geezer and a firm believer in the badness of the majority of mankind (...especially those grazing at the public trough...); my guess is that it's about the dollars (...into someones pocket, that is...). Never discount the power of "....kickbacks, bribes, and influence peddling...". It's always been there. I well remember hearin a speech given by a CEO whom i wont name who said: "....This place does pretty well, but i intend to make it like all other corporations...". He did just that; and very quickly: ... he and his buddies filled it full of "bribes, kickbacks, and influence peddling... I'm like some other posters here, they aint gonna wear anything out. They dont shoot enough. I say its more largesse at the public trough. doubtin leroy -
Dont know a thing about 'em; but as a genuine "shot in the dark"; i would look down the glass bedding the action and free floating the barrel rabbit trail. It always worked on the old bolt guns. Ya might want to do some searchin about glass bedding and free floating the mini. wonderin leroy

Need handgun work done in East TN

Smoke:_____________ See Bob at Predator Custom Shop. He is their gunsmith (...and a great one at that...). He can do whatever ya need and probably has the old parts if needed. leroy -
This is not an uncommon occurence. I've experienced it myself in the 'long ago". The best way to handle them is to be polite but dismissive. Tell 'em what ya will and wont do, and where they can go if they dont like it. These europeans aint used to the freedom here nor the culture. Dont worry; they will warm up to it. The great thing about the usa is that folks tend to like it here; especially down south. They dont go back home if they dont have to. Even the dammed yankees wont go home unless they have to. The germans will come around eventually. I predict that we'll win 'em over pretty quickly. Who would want to go back to germany (...or europe...) to 50% plus taxes and a bunch of dammed weinies tellin you ever move to make. Nobody (...even the germans...) likes that. leroy

Volkwagen is doin exactly what any big operation with lots of clout tends to do. They are gonna find out what they can get and how far their influence stretches. I doubt that they will shut down a billion dollar plant that's up and runnin to make a point about guns in the parking lot. These folks are business people; not anti-gun zealots. They, unlike lots of american business people understand manufacturing and capitalism. I wouldnt worry too much about whether volkswagen is gonna leave chattanooga. My prediction is that they aint; and that they will simply expand as they have the dollars. The next time ya get worried about that; drive down I75 south and take a look at the roadway leading to "Volkswagen Drive" . It's the largest intersection on the road other than the interstate junctions. Tennessee is a great, business friendly place with a skilled (....especially in chattanooga...) workforce that actually wants to work. That's why they came here in the first place. I say: "....Dont worry about the volkswagen bluster; that exactly what it is."... They are tryin to see how much they can get from the polititians. More than that; dont discount that the enemies of this "parking lot" proposal are usin this as fodder to do exactly what it tends to do; that is, to scare the locals and the political class into submission. leroy

Chili:___________ I really like the XDS 45 myself (...i like the lines...). Havin said that; i dont think ya could beat a glock 36 or whatever the similar kahr is. As others have opined; i believe the polymer framed pistols calm the 45 down a bit over the 1911 type pistols. leroy

Ram:_____________ Thanks for posting the pictures. I like this one best (...has the dog motif...): Seth Thomas Round Bend model circa 1860s.. I grew up around these old clocks. Had an uncle that collected and worked on them as a hobby. My grandparents had a clock on their mantle that looked like your Seth Harvard Mantle. It's interestin that ya mention them strikin the hours. I can remember that goin on at the grandparent's home place. They never listened to anything but conversation, the clock strikin, the dogs barking, and the occasional saturday afternoon baseball game on an old tube radio. These old clocks are a genuine relic of another time. Thanks again for posting the pictures. leroy

Dear brother and sister opiners:_______________ Take the time to read this article : http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/clinton-gun-rights-culture/2013/01/20/id/472217?promo_code=F43B-1&utm_source=Moon_Battery&utm_medium=nmwidget&utm_campaign=widgetphase1 Since Nobama has managed to stir up such a hornet's nest with the gun thing, he has done quite a bit of damage to the demorat brand; especially among Second Amendment demorats (...there really are some!!...); and the citizenry at large; it appears that a "voice of sanity" (...or demigogery, depending on your point of view...) has begun to speak and to distance the "mainstream" demorat from the "chicago demorat". A voice no other than from that greatest of demorat orators. This article contains some excellent advice to the demorat faithful on re-defining who the demorats are and starting the 2016 presidential season by running against the nobama klan of the demorat party. I believe this is the first shot in the war to redefine the demorat party; fired by none other than that greatest of polititians (...of any stripe; be it demorat or republican....) "slick willie". Very interestin read (...to me, at least....). Whadda ya think? More than that; do ya believe him???? leroy

I love dogs; especially the "manly ones" as NRA has posted. It's been two years since my old retriever went over the "sunset hill" and i still get teary eyed thinkin about him. He wuz a great creature. The wife and son tell me "...no more dogs... We cant stand the mourning process...."; so im stuck without "mans best friend". Thanks for posting this great picture. dogless leroy

It seems that i remember a lady testifying before congress several years ago on the "magazine ban" that had her husband and several other folks shot in a mass shooting in a texas restaurant. She said (...as i remember...) that it took all of about a second to change magazines and keep shootin; because she saw it happen first hand. She finished her testimony by sayin that the "magazine capacity" thing wuz a red-herring and she added that the real intent of the Second Amendment wuz to protect the citizenry from people like Schumer and others on the committee who were seeking to disarm law-abiding citizens. She also added that the had her pistol in the glove box of her car; and simply didnt bring it into the cafeteria (....or restraurant?...) that trip. She said that this one oversight probably cost several lives that day. Do any of you remember this; or am i imagining it? leroy

Savage 10 .308 Optic Suggestions ....
leroy replied to xRUSTYx's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Take a look at any of the nikon, busnell, leuopold, or burris scopes. I tend to like fixed power stuff. A 2 to 3 power fixed would be a nice scope out to 300 yards or so. They have lots of eye relief and dont cost an arm and a leg. leroy -
Never been on the whitewater on the ocoee; but spent quite a bit of time workin in that territory right next to the river. It looks like a great thing and lots of fun. Havin said that; if you are young and the kids are pretty good sized (....say 14 or so up....); whitewater is the way to go. If ya are older or the kids are smaller; like Lester says; ya might be better with a canoe trip down the hiwassee. Ive seen a bunch of 'em pulled out of the ocoee right at Ocoee Powerhouse #2. Some of 'em looked pretty ragged by the time they were retrieved. If i wuz from about 18 or so up to 40; i would have a big time doin the whitewater thing. Sadly; im well a passed that and i aint sure i could go down the hiwassee on a float boat. Have fun!! leroy

Folks:_____________ Mike has made a stupendous point here. The good ole usa is devolving into confederations (....i believe....) of like minded people. The great nobama and this useful far left idiots have kicked the can so far down the road and have used the devisive card to make "enemies" of those who oppose them politically well enough to have precipitated the "i dont give a damn" in many folks; and im one of them. I can remember when there was some sense of commonality and community between Americans, regardless of political view. It aint there now in a lot of people. We have been "tribalized" to the point that we dont care what happens with regard to anything from the "red" to "blue" states. The cup of kindness between citizens of different states has been dumped and replaced with the "cup of wrath" or indifference. Folks in "red states" and some blue states as well (...i think....) see this devisiveness and retaliation as a redux of post civil war reconstruction; and view the gubmt as the enemy. leroy

I agree fully with the observations on folks speakin up over what is goin on now; especially with regard to the guns, magazines, and ammo thing. More and more folks are waking up to what these people really want to do. People can understand what the plain reading of the second amendment says; and can compare it very quickly with what these sons of satan are proposing; and are, in fact, doin in the blue states like new york. Its the ultimate irony to me that this unholy alliance of apostate jewish eastern european demigogs like Bloomberg and the great "godfather" Rahm and their useful children in the black community would think that restricting gun ownership would be a good thing. It seems to me that i remember that black folks were mistreated with gun laws until just after the civil war (...slaves dont own guns...); and the fathers and moms of these european folks gave their guns up to a guy by the name of Adolph Hitler (...and Joe Stalin, as well...). If i wuz a member of either of those groups; it would be a cold day in hell before any stinkin politico took any of my guns and ammo; but that's just me. In my mind, its just another proof that there just may be something to "social darwinism"; as my 23 year old so artfully argues (...mostly for the sake of arguement...): ...." There must be greater and lesser human beings; more advanced and less advanced...." "Those anointed to rule and those consigned to be ruled over"...etc, etc...You get the picture. I say what they need to do is to keep stirrin this pot. I think it will bring them a bitter harvest. Lots of folks are ambivalent about taxes (...especially if they dont pay any....). Folks can understand when things are contrary to the plain language to what is purported to be the supreme law of the land. I say "...keep talkin..." dear sweet brother barak, bloomberg, coumo, wrangle and others. More and more folks are listenin and gettin mad. listenin leroy

austin: Search the andrews leather posting here in the last couple of days for a great leather iwb holster. Also; on S&WForty's recommendation ive ordered a couple of these: Holsters Archives - Old Faithful Holsters | Old Faithful HolstersHolsters Archives - Old Faithful Holsters | Old Faithful Holsters. They are a hybrid kydex/leather that i think is a better holster than the Crossbreed; which is very well respected here and other places. The Old Faithfuls are available as a "kit". I like that they are put together with chicago screws instead of rivets. I also like the "retention adjustment" with the rubber spacers. The leather is great. I ordered a couple of digital kydex and tan cowhide (...one for a sig 238; the other for a baby glock...). I've just been too lazy to put 'em together. Looks to me like all of about a 15 minute job. The materials are excellent and the kydex is formed exactly as it should be. Ya cant beat the price. Hope this helps. leroy

REPUBLICAN INSIDER: Obama Livid Over Gun Rights Backlash
leroy replied to QuietDan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Interestin read. Thanks for posting it. I think the analysis is dead on target. This is the first time in my memory that Nobama acted like there wuz more than one branch of government. Evidently Reid and the real politians in the demorat party explained to him that this one wuz a looser and probably threatened to distance themselves from him or even openly oppose him if he stirred anything controversial up or tried any of the imperious law breakin stuff here. I seem to remember seein the other day that even the great "godfather" Rahm had come to washington. My guess is that he got over-ruled too. I think this is a big deal (...just as the analysis said...). It is the first time that the imperious Nobama has been taken to the woodshed by anybody from either party. This is a big deal and a big loss for him on a personal basis. Remember, Nobama is a "lame duck" president. More than that, he is the most polarizing president we have had in modern times. His imperious, overbearing, "smartest guy in the room" style is catching up with him. The first rule of politics is that you have to win elections (...a basic lesson the dammed republicans need to learn....). Nobama wont be running in anymore elections (....thank God....); and more and more folks are findin out what he really is. Thanks to all who have worked to make this happen. keep your powder dry. leroy -

Any NEW intitives (....like, background checks on private gun sales, "banning assault rifles", limiting mag capactities, etc...) must be approved thru NEW LEGISLATIVE ACTION (....eg. congress passes a new law adding these items...). As great as Nobama is, he cant go passed established law with new "common sense" initititives. He aint gonna get that. Let him keep talkin about this. It's nothin but "red meat" for his stinkin anti-gun and big city welfare moms; along with the likes of Coumo and Bloomberg. I firmly believe that there is an army of lawyers hopin and prayin he will try an "executive order" that runs afoul of existing law so they can slap the executive branch back in line and make a name for themselves in the legal beagle arena. My prediction on this one is that the windbaggery will blow out in a few days for lack of support and nothin will come of it. The dark blue states like new york and kalefornia will keep tightening up things; but the red states wont. We'll keep right on polarizing this whole thing; because that's what these sons and daughters of satan want. This is nothin more than round two of Post Civil War Reconstruction without an occupying army to enforce anything; plus no real public sentiment for doin it in the first place. This bunch of clowns is busy waking more and more citizens up to what they really are and demonstrating to them just how dangerous they could possibly be if they had any backbone. Havin said all that; i do believe this "mental health" thing needs watching very closely. It is "carte blanche" for stealth wrongdoing and settling old scores (...think e-wives (or husbands) sayin "my x is a nut! I think he is gonna shoot a bunch of people. ....). I agree that we need to keep watching and fighting this stuff. Join the NRA and send 'em a few dollars when ya can. That alone will keep the political class scared enough not do do anything stupid. If i remember right, there are sbout 30 or so demorat senators up for re-election in 2014. Lots of them live in purple and red states. They cant afford to do anything stupid. PS -- David. Thanks for posting the pdf of the "whole thing". Your comments are insightful and we all should think about what has been said in them. Keep your powder dry. leroy

LR: The McDaniel is the holster ive got is for the glock 27. It sets deep inside the waistband and is adjustable for cant. There is only one loop to adjust and it works just fine. The workmanship is great. The top of the holster is reinforced and it makes the glock easy to re-holster. I've worn it at about the 4:30 to 5:00 location and it works very well and the glock is pretty fat. As to the kimber thing; ive got an iwb that is a near brother to the mcdaniel. It is an iwb milt sparks type holster with two loops (....i like the one loop better; easier to adjust to cant...) for a full size 1911. My experience with carryin a 1911 iwb is that it is noticeably easier to carry than the glocks. That little bit of thinness in the 1911 makes a lot of difference. If i remember right, the "ultra" is a 3 inch barrel pistol. It should work like a charm with the mcdaniel. The mcdaniel is easy to adjust for cant, which i find a very important feature as im a "round man". Hope this helps. leroy

LR. I'm a repeat customer and an Andrews fan. They are great holster makers and are good guys to boot. I have an iwb (...cant remember the name...) for a glock 27 and a couple of the carjackers for glock and smith revolvers. The workmanship is as great as i have ever seen; and im a leather "snob". If ya know what you want, they are as good as it gets. Hope this helps a bit. leroy
