NRA: Obama Admin to Sign UN Arms Trade Treaty
leroy replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The signing of the UN Arms Treaty baloney is political posturing to give some "red meat" to the sons and daughters of satan that hate us and hate guns; and to have the globalist elites raise their middle finger to us "delightful rustics" to show us that the "best and brightest" sign treaties; not the people in a land supposidely governed " of the people, by the people, and fore the people"..... The treaty has to be ratified by a 2/3 vote of the senate. That aint gonna happen as others have wisely posted. Additionally, the gubmt cant enter into teaties that usurp the Constitution. I say we should watch this stuff; not obsess over it, and take appropriate action if necessary. The blue hats aint gonna take anyones guns here in the good ole usa. They have trouble pushin around and disarming much more "simple" and "pliable" populations. There have been approximately 46,000 legal gun purchases per day during the obama administration alone (...if ya believe the data from the NCIS...). Who is gonna collect all them guns?? leroy PS--Thanks for posting this to remind us again just how sorry and overbearing this current administration is!! -
Must a person take a butt whoopin before you pull a firearm?
leroy replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Remember the little limeric: "....Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me...". Name callin dont hurt me; ive been guilty of it myself. The problem will begin when any tough guy moves forward to lay hand on me or those in my care. Summary: ---- Name callin; OK if it makes ya feel better. Ive probably been all them things before anyway. ---- Slappin whoopin, cutting, stomping aint ok. Any move that looks like a potential tough guy is gonna do any of them things could lead to me believin that my life (...or the lives of others...) is in danger; and appropriate defensive action could ensue very quickly. I'm a 66 year old geezer. I aint gonna fight nobody. As a dear friend and mentor of mine told me many years ago: "....Im an old guy, most any young punk can whoop me, they just aint goin to...". He carried a nickel plated j frame smith in his right front pocket every day and he knew how to use it. I see things pretty much the same way. leroy -
British Soldier Hacked to Death by Islamo-Fascists .... in LONDON
leroy replied to TMF's topic in General Chat
All:_____________ Here is a very interesting and (...i think...) accurate article about the islamic expansion thing. It's well worth reading to get some feel about what is goin on in europe regarding the continuing christian/islamic thing. It's not very long but it is extremely informative: http://www.redstate.com/2013/05/22/a-timeline-of-islamic-expansion-in-the-dark-ages/ In a nutshell, radical islamic thought postulates that all "true muslums" should go to the principal of demanding that all infidels either convert to islam or submit as second class citizens to be pushed around as the first class muslum see's fit. This concept is completely alien to modern political thought; so lots of folks just cant get any idea for the seeming nuttiness of the actions of some of these folks. It is also very important to understand that the "radical" (...not all...) muslum political system is based on the whole enchalada (...that is both religious and political and ethical and legal views...) are summed up in one "political" world view that these guys live by; whereas we westerners see the political, legal, ethical, and legal system in one group (...ala the Constitution...) and the freedom to believe (...or not believe...) in "religious" dogma as a completely separate (...and guaranteed...) right. By the way; if you are interested in a great, erudite, and (...i think...) a fair treatment of all this history and more; take a look at this book: "A History of Palestine from 135 AD to Modern Times" by James Parks. It was written in 1948 when all the muslum, christian, jewish thing was fresh on the minds of the British, who "protected" palestine from the end of WW1 when it wuz took from the Ottomans until Israel declared statehood in 1948. The Redstate article squares exactly with the details in this book. If ya search the alibris website, the book can be bought for $4 and up. It's a far better (...i think...) and more balanced discussion of this whole situation than the politically driven baloney you read from the latter "experts" on this subject. It's well worth the read if you are a student of history and are interested in this muslum western europe culture thing. Hope some of ya have your interest peaked in this historical prospective. leroy -
British Soldier Hacked to Death by Islamo-Fascists .... in LONDON

It's just as Ayn Rand said about the radical muslum thing:"...This is a battle between barbarians and civilization...". the "civilized" had better grow a backbone and face up to what is going on in lots of places; especially europe. I cant imagine any country or group of people putting up with a steady diet of this barbarian nuttiness. It's time for them to make believers out of those who would do murder on the streets in God's name. It is high time to start the deportations and swift and expedited justice. Sometimes brutality and killin is the answer. The British and French need to adopt it pretty quickly or there wont be any of them left. leroy -
I like 10- Ring's quip the best... I, too, would be willing to join that great pilgrimage. Remember the words of the great Paul Neuman in that classic western "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" after the judge shot "Bad Bob" and the detail of where to bury ole Bob came up: "....Hang him on a cactus, he aint fit to share the same ground as my (...drunken...) bear...". Judge Roy wuz right. Who gives a damn where this son of satan is buried; or if he's buried at all. We owe him nothin. Let the buzzards and hogs eat him. That's how i see the burial location rucus this mornin. leroy

I like it!! Looks like lots of hammerin to me!.... Blacksmithin is a great thing.... leroy

Take a look at Mernickle or El Paso. We've got a couple of both. I like the El Paso Money Belt and cross draw rigs the best (...i like the leather better...). Have fun. leroy
-
I like the cross draw too. They work very well. leroy

I like 'em both!! I cant tell much difference in either one; they are both great manufacturers. Check this guy out if ya like the Kershaw or ZT stuff: http://kershawguy.com/products-page/zt-blems/ I keep several of the small Kershaws around (...the sharp, pointy one --- the "leek"...). Got a a couple of the all black ones and cant find the "blemishes" other than the 4 little xxxx's on the blade. Just ordered a ZT 200 blem from the guy; as im fond of "bigger" (...4 inch or so...) blades. Cant beat 'em for 95 clams if you are genuinely gonna use 'em. Enjoy! leroy

54 Colorado Sheriffs File Suit Against Anti-Gun Bills
leroy replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This is interestin stuff. Thanks for posting it. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Elected officials suing other elected officials over differences in the law is always an interesting thing; especially as these guys are saying the state law infringes on the Second Amendment. leroy -

Pork-Infused Ammunition, Not Seen Since Black Jack Pershing

Whats not to like about these guys!!! Keep up the good work!!. leroy -
Ya need to decide which "laws" (....spiritual and/or man-made...) you are to follow. In my case, i see it pretty clearly, and civilizations have seen it clearly for pretty much as long as there have been laws. Simply stated: "...You have the right to self defense and defense of your family ....". As to the Commandments; there are plenty of explanations and proscriptions in the old testament (...if you are christian, jew, or curious non believer...) which explain the difference between "killing" and "murder". The bottom line: --"murder" (...killing with malice of forthought...) prohibited. "Killing" (...accidental...) we'll discuss it. Two different words; two different definitions; two different concepts. I wont take the time to look 'em up, but they are there, and the casual student can find them, be he a religious man or not. I like Gotthegoods post above because im a great Alvin York fan too. He wuz and continues to be one of my "heroes" (...if an old man can have heroes...); he was an pacifist after his conversion and he sorted the "killing" and "murder" dilemma out very well (...and i think correctly...). Jesus said to Pilate: --- "My kingdom is not of this world"--- remember the Scriptures state that Jesus is God in the Flesh; and was born to die for the sins of all mankind. We are not God; we are men made in his image. There's a big difference. Christians and Jews who, as the Muslums say, "...are people of the Book...", are to be in the world and not of the world. That means (...among other things...) that we are to make a difference for good. Sometimes that means that we have to get a backbone and protect ourselves and others from monstrous people and nuts seeking to killl us and those in our sphere of protection. Paul said in the New Testament: "...As far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.... For me, "...being at peace with all men..." means they are at peace with me (...reasonably--- name calling and hand jestures are ok--- reaching out to thrash me or reaching in the pocket for a pistol or knife, or reaching for a club aint ok...). The "peace" is broken the instant they move to hurt me or someone in my circle of protection. That means they are fair game. I hope and pray that i, in fact, can "...be at peace with all men...". But ive already made my decision as to what needs to be done should that terrible day come when some thug or monster wont let me be at peace with them. I firmly believe that everyone who carries a deadly weapon for protection should have this little conversation with himself and work out all the details prior to needing to make the decision in a split second. There simply aint time for "soul searching" and ethical deliberations when you are facing a monster or mad man. Thats how i see the Commandment thing. Your conclusions, mileage, and understanding may vary. leroy

My "new" Winchester 94... need some advice
leroy replied to Wingshooter's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Ya did good!! Glad ya fixed it. I suspect that ole rifle will be an excellent shooter. I'd be tempted to shoot some lead bullets out of it. Slug the barrel and cast 'em to fit the bore of the rifle. Have fun, leroy -
Thanks for posting this. I'm like you all about "new, tougher laws". They dont work. We dont need more moral "jhadists" or rule makers of any stripe, prohabitionist or otherwise generating sympathy for new rules and laws. As my sainted old irish grandmother used to say: "...Advice is no good. A wise man doesnt need it, and a fool wont heed it...". She wuz right. There are already too many recommendations, public service announcements, warnings and selectively enforced laws on the books now. leroy

Like DaddyO said. You cant beat Benchmade, Spyderco, or Kershaw. They are all good. leroy

I think it's interesting how all this is comming out just before the 2014 election cycle. Everyone with even a casual amount of insight about big city machine politics knows full well that whoever sits at the top manipulates the whole machine and does what he wants --- he rewards his friends and punishes his enemies. I think the political insiders in both parties are getting ready to crucify Obama; that's why all these "scandals" are being leaked at once. The democrats have to "re-brand" themselves to fool the next bunch of "children" into voting for them. The republicans are finally going to have to tell the truth and "get even" for democrat excesses in order to bevn be thought of as a remotely viable political counter-balance to the idiocy currently taking place at the federal level. I see all this as being good for the country. Remember; when polititians are in-fighting they arent passing more foolish, repressive laws and robbing the citizenry with a pencil. I say "...let em butcher each other on tv and everywhere else...". When america's enemies are fightin each other, its always good for america. Let the recriminations, reviews, hearings, revelations, and accusations begin!! isolationist libertarian leroy

Aww, say it aint so. Really? The IRS doing this?
leroy replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
kieffer:____________ Your point is well taken. I've never seen anything like this administration before either; and there is some real "low information" hero worship and some "get even" cheering surrounding the great Obama. Havin said all that; there are some interesting things going on that cause me to believe the Dems are gonna have to "rebrand themselves" and distance themselves from the extremists in their party; and Obama is certainly an extremist by anyone's yardstick. One of them is the Benghazi thing that wont go away (....interesting read here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/12/curl-watch-out-petraeus-benghazi-scandal/ ...) and the IRS thing this thread is about. The third is the loss on the "expanded background check" thing in the senate; along with the absolute thrashing on the Barbara Boxer/Schumer gun grab provisions in spite of the administration's very visible support for them. Surely the "smart" democrat strategists know they cant keep up the mantra that this current administration is using. It's very possible that they may loose the Senate majority after the 2014 elections. In summary, i believe the Obama administration has lied so much, mistreated so many (...the IRS even bothered Jewish organizations -- a real "sacred cow" to the democrats...), and been so high-handed in doing so (...ALA Lincoln...) that they have offended most everybody in the country. Here's hopin leroy -

I predict that by this time next year Obama will be "Satan". He will be sacrificed on the altar of democrat political expediency by the leftist media and the democrate party for the sake of the party. The democrats will have to re-invent themselves somehow to distance themselves from the scandals, treachery, thuggery, etc., etc.. that the present regieme is attached to; and to prepare to fool us "delightful rustics" for the next election cycle. The democrats will have to do the Bill Clinton-Al Gore thing and say "...we aint like them leftist democrats in power now.... We are the new "...fill in the blank here...democrats ". I cant wait to see how this next campaign season develops. leroy the isolationist libertarian political toad -

It's true!!! Elections have consequences!! All this proves points up a couple of things. Chicago stye politics is alive and well thanks to Team Obama and those who "serve in public service" like their jobs so well that they will do clearly unlawful things to keep the favor of their masters. By the way, this aint a purely Democrat activity. Lamar used a "scorched earth" policy against the pesky democrats in his first term as governor of the great state of Tennessee. leroy -

We always used magnum primers (...CCI....) with the 300 grain spitzer boat tails and IMR 4350. They would shoot a cloverleaf at about 60 or so yards out of an iron sighted remington 700 safari shooting prone off a roll if ya could see and hold it steady. Look for some older (...70's to early 80's lyman reloading handbooks for the "accuracy load"....) handbooks for load details. The 375 is very accurate if you can stand the "other end" of it. leroy

Ya may want to pick up a can of Kroil Penetrating Oil (...i would get the can, not the spray ....im cheap!!....) the next time ya see any. Ive used it on pistols, revolvers, and rifles for several years. Swab the barrel withthe Kroil and let it sit. After several hours, swab it out with a dry patch and oil the barrel down. Kroil is just a high quality kerosene (...i think...) marketed as a "penetrating oil"; with it does very well. It will lift any lead type deposits out of a barrel as well as anything ive used. I use kroil to clean and CLP to oil the barrels down in all our firearms. leroy
