Ms (...?...) Corey appears to be the republican equivalent of "Mother Justice" Reno; another noted Florida Prosecuting Attorney (...from miami, i think....). Think about it. leroy PS -- Thanks for takin the time to post the other articles....

Spiffy: We used to buy trap loads by the case from Gamaliel Shooting Supply, Gamaliel, KY. Web address here: http://www.gamaliel.com/ They are good folks and have reasonable prices. They have been in business for years. My take on the reloading of shotshells thing is this. You have to use the same components ..... period.... You cant mix federal, ww, flochi, etc etc --- ya get the picture... hulls and buy whatever components are the cheapest; it never works. I've loaded WW trap loads (...12 gage, 2 3/4 dram... 1 1/8 oz shot, ...) loads literally by the thousands. We had zero problems. We used the same components (...WW Double A hulls, WW double a wads, 209 primers and Red Dot powder...). We did all this on a humble MEC 600 jr. If you are dead set on reloading shotgun hulls; i would sugguest that ya decide on the components and powder recipe ya like and stick with it. Havin said that, we found that if ya count the first cost of the hulls; loaded rounds from Gamaliel were just about as cheap as the ones we loaded on the 600 jr. After the first cost of the hulls; the reloads got cheaper. That wuz in the early eighties. It's been a long time since then. leroy leroy

The race baiters, the black injustice cottage industry, and the chicago style(....and other inner city education elites...) teachers unions have done their work well. They have made the next generation dumber and more intolerant than its predecessor generation. How could anyone put up with that is beyond me. leroy

Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!
leroy replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This aint exactly a "zimerman" thing; but it relates directly to the "field full of what-if" in the zimmerman affair RE: Confronting a minor. Take the time to read this post and think about it a bit: http://moonbattery.com/?p=33201 This is about a 17 year old beatin down a 29 year old policeman and killin him with his bare hands. Here is the El Paso Times link:http://www.elpasotimes.com/tablehome/ci_21843760/teen-accused-el-paso-officers-fatal-beating-indicted Remember, these kids aint dangerous, just misunderstood. leroy -
I agree. He needs to have a full ride at Florida c/o a deal with the Florida state government as part of his malicious prosecution deal. Ot, he might want to take the high road and go to a smaller, more honest law school. There are some out there; and they all aint liberal. leroy

Glockster, you are like me. What seez said in his post above RE: the "...others --- 49 pockets, 51 navies, 62 pocket police, ...". was exactly true. I had a good buddy that literally begged me to buy 51 navies and 62 pocket police in the presentation case with the tools for $270 each when these came out. Naturally i didnt; and ive been sorry ever sense. Any time you see a second generation colt percussion model of any flavor at the $300 mark; its a helluva deal (...take a look at Collectors Firearms and Cherrys fine guns...). I wish i had borrowed the money and bought a pair of everyting they built. leroy -
Just did the math out of curiosity. 300 fps is about 204 miles per hour. That's pretty fast. (...88 fps is 60 mph...) leroy

OS is right here. I also see George and others involved in this case on the "rubber chicken" speaking circuit. I dont like chicken; but im interested in hearing his thoughts. I hope he is outgoing enough to do the speaking thing. Inquiring minds want to know about the absolute impartiality and fairness of the florida criminal justice system.... . Maybe ole George can save up enough garbanzos to go to Law School. On a personal basis, i would like to see ole George go to the U of Fla on a full scholarship paid for by panderin Angela Corey and pimpin Ben Crump. The Corey one might just happen--- here's hopin.... leroy

Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!
leroy replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As a matter of florida law (...and law everywhere else, for that matter...); i wuz puzzled at how a state's prosecutor could bring criminal charges without going to the Grand Jury for a True Bill. This is what i found: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bennett-l-gershman/george-zimmerman-grand-jury_b_1445714.html Another reason to believe the political pandering thing. Way too much leeway given to the state's prosecutor and his, her, it's buddies i think. leroy -
Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!
leroy replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We've wasted lots of bandwith here on the "what if's" all this. Some of it pretty well reasoned and some of it childish and onesided; but that is the nature of things pretty much everywhere. There are several things that are for sure here: 1. Mind your business (...Z-Man, stay in your truck, Dear sweet Trayvon, dont beat that "creepy a**ed cracker" followin me down, bro...). 2. If you have an encounter be careful and courteous; your inquisitor could be armed and he may, in fact, know how to shoot. Dont be in the business of teaching leasons to anyone. The lesson might go wrong. 3. Choices in life have consequences. Some of them can be life-changing, some life-ending. We all know how that one worked out. 4. The "tribal ones" and "race baters" will never be placated nor will they they be appeased. That's the one everyone needs to think about a bit. No amount of law, verdict, nor facts will convince the "race-bating" community and their childish followers that justice has been served any time there is a black-white conflagration. Everyone needs to think about that one a bit. We have had six years of the post-civil war reconstruction redux here, a president that opined that "...if he had a son he would look like Trayvon...", an US attorney general that mounted and facilitated a witch-hunt to take a "cracker"s scalp using your and my money to do so, a morally and ethically bankrupt bunch of carpet baggers and "crackers" in the florida state government that sought to make political hay from the death of a young man and a little old man who had to shoot him to keep from gettin killed, a bunch of dispicable parents that cravenly tradmarked "Trayvon" and "Justice for Trayvon", presuably to go into the business of profiting from their son's death, a high profile black lawyer callin in favors from the state, federal, and race baiting movers and shakers to get his way in a malicious prosecution in a self-defense case; the list goes on and on... My take away from all this is that there are more places where we are more divided than ever and no amount of talk is gonna fix it. The race baiters and their sickening political allies have done their jobs well. This country has been balkanized, and more and more folks fully understand that. They are retreating to their homes and arming themselves, and for good reason. They cant trust their neighbors (...in some locations...), they cant trust government for obvious reasons, and the list goes on and on. We are living in precarious times. leroy -
The Poison and the Politics of Al Sharpton

The Poison and the Politics of Al Sharpton
leroy replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It will be a great day when the race-baiters like Sharpton, Jackson, Ben Crump (...ala Florida...) and others are gone from the scene. They and their socialist handlers have done their jobs well. They have tribalized and balkanized the good ole usa pretty well in the inner-cities. Ya see; it is a lot easier to blame others for your failures than it is to face them and do somethin about them. They have capitalized on that base thought for a long time; "...da man dun put me down..."; when nothin could be farther from the truth. Booker T Washington wuz right. leroy -
We've burned a lot of powder in the 700's brother; a single shot Remington 40X with a 26 inch bull barrel we bedded and freefloated. As Bonedaddy said, they are accurate. It's been several years ago; but we 180 grain matchkings and whatever the lyman accuracy load wuz for IMR 4350. It would shoot into a couple of inches at 300 or so yards shootin prone over a bedroll usin a 16 power redfield 3200 scope or a 2 inch unertl. I'm a big fan of the 300 win mag. They are very accurate and powerful. In the "old days"; lots of 1000 yd competition records were held with the win mag. I think they have been supplanted by the 6.5's now; but the 30 cals used to be the kings of the 1000 yard range. The 40x action is nothin but a trued up remington 700. I think the remington will make a great base action for a custom rifle. Have fun, leroy

We've been lookin for a couple of 3rd dragoons too.. I would really like to have a couple of the second generation colt copies. I had a chance to buy 'em when they first came out in the late seventies (...i think...); foolishly, i didnt. They are the prettiest (...well finished...) of the bunch; but they have become pretty pricey (...more in the idiotic range, really; they are just well finished uberti copies too...). The best answer for them is probably to just start savin a bit and buy a couple of the piettas or ubertis. Every now and then, ya can find one, but the prices are laughable-- check here: http://www.collectorsfirearms.com/colt-modern-blackpowder-replicas/ I highly recommend the dragoons. Our whitneyville shoots very well, even with heavy charges of black powder (...i thing we used somethin like 40 or so grains of FF...) with a round ball. Lots of "kaboom" and not much recoil because the dragoon is so heavy. I think i read somewhere where someone (...maybe Captain Walker, hisself...) said that the dragoon:"...was good on man and beast out to two hundred yards...". They are a great thing. leroy -

Glockster: The used these from Track of the Wolf (...ordered lots of stuff from them, good folks...) http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/204/1/OX-WAD-44-D We used 'em just like you said, between the powder and the ball. The lubed felt will lube the barrel and seal everything off just like it should. We never used the lube on top of the ball thing --- too messy. My 24 year old probably shot a couple of thousand rounds thru his 36 navys, a 58 remington, and a whitneyville dragoon doin this. It works like a charm. The only thing we did different from lots of people in cleaning wuz to use the cleaning solution i described above (...we also kept a spray bottle of it to clean the cylinder front if the action got sticky while he wuz shootin ...) wuz that after we cleaned and wiped everything down, we used some sort of moisture displacing lube like CLP on the revolver, then i always swabbed the barrel down with Balistol. We've done lots of shootin with these revolvers (...all uberti-cimmaron...),but they are all good. I would love to have a couple of short barrel 62 pocket police. They have the fluted cylinder and look great. Have fun. leroy -

Glad ya like your percussion gun Glockster!! If ya can find it, get yourself some black powder (...FF or FFF; the FFF will be a bit faster...) and try it. The "kaboo" cant be beat; and the cloud of white smoke is out of this world. There's nothin like it. We used felt wads soaked with Bore Butter (....just melt the bore butter on the stove and drop the wads in; they will soak the bore butter up. We used a tube of bore butter to about 500 wads in a half gallon coffee can and kept the wads in the can...). We used balistol too; but we cleaned the revolvers down with a home made cleaning mix we got from the North South Skirmish Association. As i remember it, it wuz a can (...16oz...) of denatured alcohol (...paint section, Lowes...), a bottle of windex (...16 oz...) (...no ammonia, Lowes too...), a bottle of hydrogen peroxide (...walmart...), a little bit of murphy's oil soap dissolved in an equal part (...16 oz...) of water. This makes about a gallon of cleaner. It cleans everything very well and is "dirt cheap" when compared to the store bought stuff. We keep it in a used gallon jug or a giant laundry detergent jug (...the one with the pour spout...). I like the percussion stuff. It shoots well when ya get the kinks worked out and they are very accurate once ya get used to em. Have fun. leroy -
Northern Colorado to be 51st state?
leroy replied to Tedro2022's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Irregardless of the "what happens"; i think its very intesting that this is even comming up. The last talk of "succession" started the Civil War. I think it demonstrates just how sick a large majority of the citizenry is of the "political class" Colorado has been taken over by carpetbagging idiots from Kalefornia (...much like Florida...) and other sourland states. Look what is happening there. Thanks for posting this interesting bit of information. leroy -
Robert: RE: This RE: Item 1. I think the "real answer" here is that "Americans dont think about the Constitution"; therefore they dont "understand the Constitution"...; especially younger folks. The support for DOMA wuz exactly what ya said. It was to curry political favor from a broad sector of citizens; that's what polititians on both sides of the political spectrum do when it suits their political goals; in this case, gettin re-elected. The good news, i think, is that this current bunch of would be totalitarians have made folks real interrested in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that were were either un-knowing, un-interested, or only "casually interested' about 6 or so years ago. I think that is a good thing. My advice to everybody is to read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights about once a month. You'll be amazed at the wisdom contained therein. RE: Item 2. I think the item 2 thing springs from item 1. I dont think its willingness to "ignore" anything. I think it's not thinking and being conditioned to believe that government should be involved in everything. There are lots of people in this country, Christians included, who fit this category. Havin said that; I dont think any Christian can be intellectually honest and not believe in individual liberty, and being scrupulously fair and even-handed. I do believe that they (....Christians ....) are alarmed at what they see; and i think they should be. There are those who are demanding that any references to "sin" and "perversion" be labled as hate speech by the gay jhadists. I dont think that will happen because of the First Amendment thing; but there has been and wuz plenty of pushing on this very issue. Look at the "hate crime" thing... I thought that by definition, all crime is "hate crime"... A criminal is willing to either kill, maim, or forcibly take what is not there's to take; whether it is life, sexual favor, or property by force. That sounds pretty 'hateful" to me. You and several other posters here hit the nail square on the head when you opined two things; the first. Get the government out of the marriage business period... The second; stop the "winners and loosers" tax breaks for everybody, period.... Those two single things, alone, would straighten up a multitude of things in this country. Havin said that, do i think it will happen... No, not a chance. Here's hopin. leroy

RE: The "faith based birth control -- mornin after abortion pill" demand thing: It's gettin ready to get hot. Check this out: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/06/29/obamacare-contraception-mandate-opponents-reject-finalized-coverage-rule I think it's interestin that the Obamaite administration is attempting to "smooth this over" with everybody and stay out of court. I think they do not want this one to go to the supremes. Right here is the heart of the matter: I believe this one is another "slam dunk" and the "Becket Fund for Religious Liberty" guys and the Obamaites know it. They are just doin the negotiation thing as a delaying tactic to keep this stuff out of the news as long as they can. It aint workin too well. This was written on 6/29/13. Just 11 days ago. Even Selebus and Obama are finally (...i believe...) gettin the idea that it wuz a bad idea to pick a fight with the supremes and they know full well that this is a First Amendment case they will loose when it gets to the supremes. Here's hopin leroy

Daddyo: RE: This... I think (...for now, at least...) ya already got this protection via the First Amendment on the "opposition to gay marriage and refusal to do the ceremonies" thing. This is clearly an issue of "church doctrine" and is an issue of public interest; so its all protected under the First Amendment. There aint been much said about it (...it doesnt fit the narrative....); and i think it's probably workin its way thru the Federal Court system; but the Obamacare Mandate that faith based organizations (...think catholic, and protestant hospitals, churches, etc... here...) provide birth control and "morning after" abortion pills when the tennants of the church are against those things has resulted in court rulings against this stuff as well. I think this one is a slam dunk too, since it goes against the Bill of Rights (...First Amendment, freedom of religion stuff...). We'll do some diggin later; but i think this one is settled. RE: I think the same thing happened with the "hiring" thing; i just cant remember the details. This stuff is real First Amendment stuff. The Democrats and the great Obama have got a miserable track record on tryin to over-ride the Bill of Rights via these mandates and funny legislation. They have also got a miserable track record of winnin against the Bill of Rights in the federal court too (...thankfully...). leroy

Folks, OS made a great point in post #384 above; and Robert made a great point in post #386. Look at it this way: Each individual state has marriage laws duly passed by that particular state's legislature, voted on by that particular state's individual citizenry who duly elect these "state representatives". Each state passes marriage related legislation (...marriage licenses, fees, definitions of who can get married, on and on...). Remember, this (...marriage definition, ect. ..) is a STATE issue; keep that in mind. The individual states pass differing state legislation concerning marriage (...example-- New York, Kalefornia, Hetro, homo.--- Tennessee, alabama, georgia -- hetro marriage only...). Remember, in every case marriage here is defined by the individual state(s); not the federal government. Now remember back in our little speech about what the supreme court did. There was a FEDERAL LAW called DOMA that defined marriage as one man, one woman that wuz passed on the Clinton watch just after the "gay marriage" thing wuz passed in one of the states (...probably new york or kalefornia, dont know for sure...); i think, as a push back against the "gay agenda". Things rock along and no one complains until the two rich dykes from New York do their "estate planning" (...see the post several pages back...). They discover they have to pay a inheritance tax (...to the FED, i think, not the state...). They discover that even though they are legally "married" according to new york state law, they have to pay this tax that evidently a straight couple would not have had to pay. They sue and the suit moves all the way to the Supreme Court. The supremes rule that all forms of marriage recognized by the several states have to be treated the same way by the Federal Gubmt. Said another way; the DOMA law said, in effect, that Hetro couples got a tax break on inheritance, the dyke couple didnt. The DOMA thing wuz struck down due to the "equal protection under law" thing. It says that the several states regulate (...marriage, in this case...) the state (...and the federal government, in this case...) has to treat even handedly. Said another way; dont punish legally married gays causing them to pay a tax that hetro couples are exempt from if they are "legally married" as defined by that particular state; and reside in the state that recognizes that marriage. That's what all this is about; nothin more. That's why DOMA was struck down. It gave preferential treatment to one class of marriage over another. The moral of this little story (...i think is two fold...): (1)....What the several states regulates; the state and the federal government has an obligation to even-handedly treat as to taxes, benefits, etc. etc. (2)...Regulation of marriage has been reconed to be by the Federal Supreme Court to be a STATE ISSUE. That's a good thing. For the first time in a long time, the power of the federal government has been limited. That means that there aint a "right to marriage (...regular of homo...) in the Constitution. We can all be thankful for that one. Finally, if ya dont want the state to make a law allowing gay marriages; see to it that you elect folks that see things your way and see to it that they stay that way. That's why the gay jhadists are talkin about moving the "fight" to the individual states. I think this is the story up to now. leroy
