  1. The folks that registered theirs are screwed... That was the goal all along. They believed the lie. leroy...
  2. You are a lucky man... Glad ya weren't hurt. I solved the 300 BO problem by simply building an upper. That way, ya get exactly what ya want. leroy...
  3. I think the basic premise of not bothering toon 556 n 9mm is correct for now. I don't bother to reload them. That said; I save my components for specialty cartridges n the time when ammo is gone. leroy...
  4. Over the years I've carried a lot of water for the NRA. I really wanted em to straighten up. They simply haven't...SIGH. I finally gave up on em. I've joined with the Firearms Policy Coalition and the Second Amendment Foundation. I'm like others here, the management of the NRA has to go before I send em any dollars. NRA refusenik leroy.
  5. What Mista Garufa said...! I'm notorious hard on wrist watches, n just quit wearing em years ago. I'm redeeming myself ( somewhat ...HEHEHE ) though. Have bought an old Seiko RR Approved Quartz pocket watch to go in the bib of my overalls this winter... I've always loved pocket watches... old times leroy...
  6. What Mista Greg said..! I ain't ever heard of a " bad " one. They all do pretty well. A " budget " ar will shoot into 2 moa. That's 4 inches at 100 yards. Your head is wider than 4 inches . leroy...
  7. Something in the car that shouldn't have been there ..?
  8. Second one I've ever seen. Got a buddy with a vaquero 38-40/ 10 mm . A rare bird, Indeed ... GLWS.. leroy
  9. In the " old days " we used to shoot hot loads out of the old Gubt model Colt 38 supers using heavy bullets ( .140 grain 357s I think ) intentionally set over the max OAL so the bullets would rest on the barrel lands when chambered. That " hillside engineering " fixed the headspace problem with the old supers. The rounds would bulge the cases on the first firing and blow em out at the point of non support at the bottom of the barrel at the magazine ALA a Glock on the second firing of the brass. The brass blow out looked a lot like this. This one looks pretty bad ta me due to the hammering of the case head. Never saw one this bad. I would look for a barrel obstruction here. Sorry ta hear about your bad experience... Glad it was no worse than it is. leroy...
  10. This is the problem with the Tennessee State Constitution: "... . Article 1 (.I think.), Section 26. Section 26 Text of Section 26: That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime. ..". It's a post Civil War Reconstructionist addition... It's clearly unconstitutional. It will not be fixed until it's challenged in court. leroy .
  11. This will never be fixed until it's adjudicated in court. The political class ( .even in Tennessee.) love giving " permissions" to us " Delightful Rustics ". The current language of the Tennessee Constitution, put in place by a bunch of dammed Reconstructionists after the Civil War says; as I remember: " The right to bear arms shall not be infringed, BUT the legislature may regulate the wearing of arms with an eye toward keeping the peace "... " ready ta litigate " leroy, the Anti Reconstructionist.
  12. HEHEHE... It's great ain't it ..? leroy... " The Uncle Remus of Copper Ridge "...
  13. I'm guessin this one is " Red Meat for the Anti Gun Children "... It will never make it thru the House. If it does, it will never make it thru the Federal Courts. It's a clear Second Amendment violation. leroy...
  14. I'm a fan of the SFAR. Too old to need one ta shoot, but a fan none the less. I've handled both the original AR 10 and SFAR as well. The AR10 is too heavy; the SFAR is just right. That's why it's so great. Regarding the "deficient issues and design / manufacturing issues " thing: All media; albeit YouTube, written "reviews", or other " evaluations " are, for the most part, " biased windbaggery "; either bashing to get attention or cheerleading. Some " reviewers " are trustworthy, some are working to garner attention. Ruger has world class engineering and manufacturing operations. " Reviewers " have " opinions " and a very small sample size to evaluate. Anyone with a phone or video camera can post on YouTube, just as anyone that can type can post a review. As a matter of course, I throw out the " outliers ". That said, I do understand that there are " lemons " made on Monday n Friday. I've been handling and buying Ruger products for over 50 years. I've yet to find a " lemon". I understand they are out there; but I'm like the great big round crow in the that great Disney Cartoon Classic, " Dumbo "; who famously quipped : "... I never seen, I only heard ...". zip I e de doo dah leroy...
  15. Henry ... I don't think ya need permission. The posting signs and maps themselves should give the " permission ". Look for them. leroy...
  16. We have a good friend who has studied the " mass shooting medication " thing quite a bit over the years. There is one common thread. Early use of Ridlin. Neither medical profession nor the school folks will touch this issue. Be careful what ya allow the doctors n school system to prescribe for your kids and grandkids. These kids are yours. leroy...
  17. I ain't a fan of the de-cocker. Too old I guess, I like the safety setup on the 1911 n CZ pistolas. Simple manual of arms. leroy .
  18. The " ABC " thing is the transition from the " N " frame first serial designator beginning with " N " to the alpha numeric S/N designation... leroy...
  19. This is a pretty rare bird... If I remember right, the transition from " N " to "ABC " happened with this model. We have his brother in the safe with the "ABC " type S/N designation... GLWS .. admirin leroy...
  20. Wish ya wuz closer... SIGH .... admirin leroy.
  21. Yeaah ..! I wuz thinkin the same thing... The rifle is beautiful.. Looks like an old time safari grade Remington... GLWS... admirin leroy ...
  22. Yup.... Most all of the older shotguns came with factory Cutts... leroy...
  23. " Be still my heart "..!!! A genuine " Coon Hunters Special "... GLWS... admirin leroy ...
  24. All ya old guys with no butt n big belly: Wear hi back overalls and ya can carry most anything in your strong side hip pocket. No body will notice if ya are not in the " Uptown Financial District". I can easily carry a gubt model 45ACP in em. The normal Glock stuff just disappears... Advice from a gimped up old codger with a big belly and butt. A size 52 fits me about right. Gonna wear my hickory striped hi backs tomorrow. rustic leroy...
  25. Wish ya wuz closer...SIGH... leroy..
